Ultra Sentai Taiyōkeiger (translated as Ultra Squadron Solarenger and can be translated also as Ultra Sentai Systemger) is the 12th Super Sentai in Gokai-Volt's Super Sentai franchise and the second in the second phase Heisei Era after Manga Sentai Kanbokuger. The series' Power Rangers counterpart is entitled Power Rangers Solar System Knights. The series' main motif is the Solar System, as well as the Universe and space - the main inspiration for the series comes from Uchu Sentai Kyuranger.
Plot[]
When a empire of malevolent beings invade the Orion System, looking for a mysterious artefact - the King of the Orion System sends out a message to the rest of the Universe - in hopes of gathering nine strong warriors to defeat the malevolent empire and return peace to the Universe once and for all.
However, on a prison planet deep within the Cerberus System - a young teenage boy escapes a prison facility and meets with a probe from the Orion System - the two, with a stolen spaceship, head out into the darkness of space to gather the remaining nine chosen warriors.

- This is a first Super Sentai season to be set in space and the first to use cards as a changing and collectable gimmick. This is also the first series to have characters from different planets.
- This season is currently in the lead of having the highest Ranger count in Gokai-Volt's Super Sentai franchise with 12 Rangers - the second highest is Chikatestu Sentai Denshager - with 11 Rangers.
- This is a second Super Sentai season to have siblings (Tenma and Niki) in a team since Ouritsu Sentai Rokaiger (the Rokaigers were a sibling team).
- 88 in ORION-88's name refers to the number of constellations in the Universe featured in the series.
