Tokubou Sentai Kyuumeiger (特防戦隊キュウメイジャー Tokubō Sentai Kyuumeijā, translated as Special Protection Squadron Life-Saving Rangers) is a fanfiction season of Super Sentai. Its theme is a rescue motif. 

Story

In the not-so-distant future, with an increase of disasters & crime occurring in many parts of the world, the Japan Branch of the Global Bureau of Defense assembled a rescue team--the Kyuumeigers, a nine-man team divided into three units: the fire-fighting sibling team, the Fire Meigers; the animal-loving Nature Meigers; & the search-&-rescue detective team, the Urban Meigers.

Villains

In a departure from previous installments of Super Sentai, Kyuumeiger foregoes any major villains, monsters, or an evil organization. Instead, the villains in this series are like those depicted in crime & police dramas such as crime lords, mad scientists, corrupt business owners, terrorists, lowly street thugs, wrongly accused fugitives, & even ordinary citizens who were victimized by crime. To make the criminals appropriate for a tokusatsu series, the crimes occasionally involve hi-tech laser weaponry, secret formulas, robots, & superpowers.

Notes

• This series succeeds Kyuukyuu Sentai GoGoV as the second season to have a rescue theme. 
• The term Kyuumeiger uses the Japanese pun for life-saving (救命, Kyūmei^?) & the Japanese word for nine (九, Kyū^?), in reference to the fact that the number of rangers in the show is nine.
• Similar to Ninpuu Sentai Hurricaneger & Engine Sentai Go-Onger, the nine Kyuumeigers are divided up into teams. 
• This is the first series to not have a main/single villain, possibly making it similar to the Metal Hero Series Tokkei Winspector & Tokkyuu Shirei Solbrain.
