Synopsis[]

Part 1[]

As Michael, Laura, Jimmy, and Erin prepare to go on a camping trip - taking along highly unessential items, the team is embroiled in a hostile power struggle between Xenu's generals. As the chaos unfolds, Scourge coerces Cubois into learning a secret about his past, one which holds the key to unlocking his true form, which proves to be the most powerful threat the rangers have faced so far.

Part 2[]

Cubois, having unlocked his powerful true form - one which nearly wiped out the Instinctian race eons ago, has overpowered the rangers, and plans to destroy Sovereign City himself. As the power struggle among Xenu's generals continues to deepen, Scourge devises his own plans about Cubois' fate, as the rangers race against time to figure out a way Cubois can be destroyed.

Plot[]

Part 1[]

Outside of Discovery Command, Michael, Daniel, Jimmy and Laura are packing Lester's Camper Van in preparation for a camping trip, as Daniel questions the amount of stuff the others are packing. Erin, annoyed and unaware of what's going on, joins them and questions why the others are going out camping in the first place. Jimmy, who is taking a TV with some games and a TV dish for the trip, says that Lester though it would be good for the team to go out camping to relax and take their minds off recent events; Erin seems reluctant to join them, but goes anyway since Jimmy's keeping her company. In the command room, Lester is monitoring recent state media announcements as Commander Burnham comes in and asks him about what his rangers are doing, and Lester reminds him that he gave them a camping trip for the weekend so they can take their minds off a "rather busy week". Meanwhile, Cubois is discussing his intentions to carry out an attack that will destroy the rangers for good with Imperiax, as Scourge defies him. Narnette overhears all of this, and confesses to Xenu that she worries that Scourge may destroy her. The five rangers, with Daniel and Laura in the driving seat, take a drive around the campsite, as Laura, Michael, and the rookies are having a chat about the camping trip.

As this happens, Cubois happens to be monitoring the rangers' whereabouts, while wondering where the Continental Ranger is. He sets up at trap, which turns out to be a camper who runs into the Rangers' camper van, calling out for help. Laura pulls over, and the team rushes to help the hiker, who asks for rope. Daniel finds some rope at the back of the van, and on the cliff, the team spots a female hiker, who has gotten herself stuck while climbing. When it comes to deciding who should go on the rope, it is down to Michael, Daniel, Jimmy and Erin to climb down to rescue the climber. Jimmy and Erin, citing their fear of heights, rule themselves out, so Daniel volunteers, and he equips climbing gear to descend the cliff, as Laura and Michael tell him to be careful. As Daniel tries to help him, Cubois, watching from afar - unbeknownst to the rangers, turns the "climber" into a Zealot, causing the wire to slip. When Laura asks if the climber is okay, the hiker says she's fine in a sinister manner, before she turns into a Zealot; Erin is the first realise this was was a trap, before the rest of the climbers turn into Zealots. Cubois then confronts the rangers, ordering the Zealots to attack. As Michael, Laura, Erin and Jimmy fight the Zealots, Laura rushes to Daniel's aid as she notices that he is struggling against one Zealot. During the struggle, Daniel loses his grip, and the Zealot cuts the wire, causing Daniel to fall down the cliff, but he quickly morphs just in time, and is able to land safely. After Daniel manages to take down the Zealot, the others regroup with him on the lower levels, and the other four morph, with Michael going straight into his Gorilla Form.

The fight then intensifies, and during the struggle, some Zealots go airbourne, so Michael downmorphs to Eagle Form and unleashes his Animality, taking down the aerial horde, while the others fight the Zealots on the ground. In his lair, Xenu is not happy that Cubois had initiated an attack without his permission, and has Malvor, who acknowledges that Cubois is in a conflict with Scourge, monitor his actions. Upon assessing the footage a bit more, he calls forth a fleet of Prism Fighters, prompting the team to summon their zords; Michael, Daniel and Laura form the Octo Discovery Megazord, while Jimmy and Erin form the KongaMax Megazord, in order to take out the fleet. Amid the chaos, Cubois uses one of the Prism Fighter to get himself into the Octo Discovery Megazord, saying he only wants to confront the orange guy. Daniel and Laura fight Cubois, but the chaos in the cockpit causes the Octo DIscovery Megazord to fall from the sky and onto the KongaMax. As the team ejects, Cubois is stopped by Scourge, who has business with him discuss. Back at command, Lester is researching Cubois' history, and finds out that Cubois is likely to have been the monster who attacked Earth eons ago - and was the inaugural and strongest practitioner of Xenzin Power, but was stopped by Whaleus, the original Whale Warrior. As this happens, Commander Burnham detects a suspicious reading on the computer, and sends Lester out to the Rangers' campsite to investigate. Meanwhile, the core rangers arrive at the campsite, and start setting things up - for example, Michael and Laura set up the TV, as Jimmy attempts to help, by getting the antenna to work. Daniel is about to return to the base, but he cannot get the engine on the camper van to start, as it has seemingly ran out of gas. After some convincing, Daniel stays with them at the camp, and the rangers begin to settle themselves down.

In Xenu's lair, Cubois and Scourge are walking down the hallway, as the latter tells the story to him about a monster that attacked earth in its ancient past, and used Xenzin Power to destroy anything in its path, before he was taken down by a mighty Instinctian. The monster was then tossed into space from Earth, and was discovered centuries later, when Xenu attempted to remove the seal Whaleus had placed on him, but ended up animating his crystallized form, resulting in Cubois' induction into Xenu's army. Cubois refuses to believe this, but Scourge warns him that, if he is hit with that same attack again, he will attain divine power - at his own risk, as Scourge, believing he will become more powerful, plans to destroy Cubois altogether before the Rangers can. As Scourge walks off, Cubois tries to make sense of Scourge's words. At the campsite, the rangers, along with Digit, are enjoying the campsite. Daniel is at the barbecue, while Laura and Michael are playing a game, and Jimmy and Erin are having a picnic, as Erin talks to Jimmy about why she feels she still has not achieved anything to benefit the team, and how hard she is finding her life in general at the moment, while Jimmy reflects on how much he and Erin have changed as people since they first met, and how his bond with her have made them both better people, before they both share a tender moment. Daniel has some barbecued treats for the team, especially for the rookies, who have some of Daniel's burgers; Jimmy notes that Laura can cook better than Daniel, but he likes it nonetheless. At this point, Lester, having arrived on Sergeant Hannity's Discovery Corps motorcycle, joins them, and is brought up to speed on the recent developments of the others by Michael, before Jimmy offers him one of Daniel's burgers. Lester reveals he came to discuss with the team about what he and the commander had learned about Cubois, but as he discusses it, Michael notices something suspicious fall out of the sky, and they all go out to investigate. Malvor and Scourge are in the area, and are confronted by the team, who then, after Jimmy complains about thinking it was safe to have a day off, morph. A fight then ensues against the Rangers and Scourge, but Scourge, using his Xenzin Power, overpowers them all, as does Malvor.

As this happens, Cubois begins to make sense of the story Scourge told him, and after he does, he seeks to allow himself to be hit by the same attack from the Whale Command Cannon eons ago, as the Rangers now have it, and proceeds to overdose on what is left of his Rindesythir . Just as Malvor and Scourge are about to finish off the rangers, Commander Burnham, as the Avalon Ranger, provides a distraction, and reveals that he has picked up something on the radar - something worse than Malvor and Scourge. The five core rangers then perform a Primal Mega Slash, as Lester switches to his Croc Visor and performs a Continental Strike. The two generals deflect the attacks, sending the team flying, moments before a Cubois lands in an area nearby, laughing maniacally. Commander Burnham takes Michael to confront it, while the others handle the two other generals. Michael, who switches to Gorilla Form, and his father take on Cubois and they are able to, as the others regroup with them, having held off the other generals. Cubois easily puts himself back together, now more powerful due to him having consumed dangerously high levels of Rindesythir, and overpowers the entire group. Amidst the struggle, Michael attempts to morph into Whale Warrior, but the Whale Command Cannon is knocked out of his hand. As the others go to help Michael, Commander Burnham gets up and rushes towards the Whale Cannon, and delivers a maximum-powered Primal Geyser attack to Cubois, which freezes him - as Commander Burnham is knocked back and de-morphed due to the intense power of the attack. As the crew de-morphs and hurries over to the commander, Lester, remembering that data he found earlier, recognises the attack as the one Whaleus used to defeat Cubois eons ago when he attacked Earth.

Suddenly, Cubois breaks free of the rock and now fully remembers what happened to him centuries ago. Cubois reveals his true form - knocking everyone back, and is overwhelmed by the Xenzin Power within him. He was indeed the monster Whaleus sealed away with the Earthā€™s power - confirming Lester's suspicions. Malvor and Scourge are watching from afar, as the latter explains that Cubois - whose full name in his original body was "Zen Cubois", is the embodiment of all Xenzin Power, and the first organic being to ever harness it; Malvor then proclaims that Cubois will destroy this world, and not even the rangers can stop him. The main six rangers then morph and charge towards Zen Cubois, and as Commander Burnham looks on in horror, Zen Cubois brutally overpowers the group. They unleash their animalities, but that still doesnā€™t do anything to even leave a scratch on Cubois; Michael switches to his Gorilla Form again, and tries to stop Zen Cubois, all to no avail. Zen Cubois then furiously channels all of his Xenzin, and slams the ground extremely hard, sending the rangers flying. As they all fall onto the ground and de-morph, Malvor watches with satisfaction - praising Cubois' efforts, as Scourge remains defiant that the first stage in his plan has come into fruition. As they depart, Cubois turns his attention to the heavily-beaten rangers, and laughing maniacally, he prepares to finish them off.

Part 2[]

Red alert WARNING. This 2nd part contains scenes of murder. Viewer discretion is advised!.

Commander Burnham, on his knees, watches in horror as Zen Cubois is about to finish his rangers. Once he gets back up on his feet, he orders Cubois to stop, and he too recognises Cubois as the monster that nearly destroyed earth, and he will not allow history to repeat. He then morphs, and is able to fight Zen Cubois with ease, as the other rangers recuperate. The commander fights Zen Cubois, turning the battle in the heroes' favour - with Jimmy cheering Commander Burnham on. After a long battle, the commander is able to defeat Cubois - reducing him to his core, which Malvor and Scourge flee with. The crew then regroups with Commander Burnham, as Erin notes that they are lucky to even be alive, and the others - besides Daniel, express enthusiasm that Cubois may have been defeated for good. Commander Burnham tells the team not to be so sure, as Cubois is smarter than he seems, even though Jimmy points out that he got completely wrecked. He then orders the five core crew members back to their campsite, as he and Lester continue to monitor the situation, but Daniel offers to come with them, as he has had enough of camping. As Michael reminds his father and Lester to let them know if they find anything out, the commander tells the other four to keep their eyes open.

At Xenu's lair, Malvor and Scourge arrive and stand before Xenu, who demands Cubois' location. Malvor presents Xenu with Cubois' core, which suddenly reconstructs into Zen Cubois; Xenu is satisfied to see Cubois, who is far more deranged and aggressive towards his associates, in his true form, but is angered when he learns that he was not able to defeat the rangers altogether. After some discussion, Malvor, Cubois, and Xenu ultimately decide that the former should be dispatched upon Sovereign CIty, in an attack that with potential to destroy Sovereign CIty altogether. Scourge, however, overhears this, and drags Malvor out, and berates him for siding with Cubois. Malvor defiantly claims that Cubois has always been Xenu's number one general, and now that he is back in his true form, he will be no match for the rangers. Scourge denies this, and says that he will destroy Cubois at all cost regardless of whether the Rangers defeat him or not - claiming that if he destroys Cubois, his Xenzin will be absorbed by him, making him even more powerful in terms of how much Xenzin he has control of. Narnette overhears them, and questions Scourge regarding what he can achieve if he kills Cubois, but orders her not to interfere, threatening her with her life. Back in the throne room, Xenu gives Cubois the go ahead to attack the rangers again, as Cubois claims that by channeling his Xenzin, he can enlarge himself without the need for Order 57, saving his master some work.

As Daniel and Lester join the commander in the command room back at the base to monitor any Xenu-related activity, Michael, Laura, and the rookies head back to their campsite, with Jimmy mentioning that he is hungry. When they get there, they find the whole campsite ransacked, and they do not know who could have done it. Michael, Laura and Jimmy are certainly not happy about it, as Erin frustratedly complains that going out camping was a bad idea, suggesting they should go back now. Michael and Laura say they can't, since the camper van has run out of gas. Jimmy suggests they could just do some hitchhiking, but his idea is also shot down, and Michael, who ultimately has the final say, says they should rebuild the campsite, and should also look for food, as the food the team brought with them is also gone. The remaining crew members split into three, with Michael, Jimmy & Erin and Laura each looking for food in different locations in the forest. Back at command, Daniel is with Lester, who detects a hostile energy reading in the forest area heavily implying that Cubois may have returned, and his suspicions are confirmed when the alarms sound. Lester then contacts the remaining rangers of a major emergency, and tells them to get to work, as he and Daniel morph. A self-enlarged Zen Cubois is trashing the wider forest area moments before he is confronted by the Rangers in the Discovery Ultrazord; the Ultrazord can barely land a hit on Cubois, who instantly gains the upper hand without leaving any openings. In response, the rangers attempt to use the Ultrazord's arm-mounted M.A.Z.s, all to no avail, so Cubois launches a powerful blast of Xenzin, which the Ultrazord, jumping high, is able to dodge, as it delivers a near-powerful cleaving blow on Zen Cubois, which barely leaves a scratch. Back in his throne room, Xenu and his generals are watching live footage of Cubois overpowering the rangers, as Scourge comments that things are going his way. As Cubois beats up the Ultrazord some more, Erin, clearly flustered and knowing that they can't win, says that they should just give up now, shocking Jimmy and Laura, who tells her not to talk like that. At this moment, Cubois begins to charge up Xenzin into his hands, and unleashes a furious barrage of Xenzin-powered energy slashes at the Ultrazord, heavily damaging it and causing it to fall to the ground, immobilising it.

Near-victorious over the rangers, Cubois puts his foot down on the Ultrazord, and is about to deliver the finishing blow, but Michael gets out the Condor Bass Staff, and summons the Condor Zord, which is able to distract Cubois before healing the Ultrazord, restoring its systems and allowing it to get back up. The Condor Zord is about to provide the rangers with an opening, but Cubois strikes it down, Nevertheless, the rangers use the Ultrazord's finishing attack on Cubois, but the latter prevents them from doing so by blasting Xenzin at it and causing the Ultrazord to fall at a great height. Commander Burnham, who is monitoring the rangers back at the base, orders them to return the base, and performs a teleportation ability so he can rescue his rangers from further danger. Cubois is not fazed by the rangers' retreats, and brands them as cowards. Still enlarged, he runs towards Sovereign City, and in doing so, causes an earthquake. When he reaches the city, he shrinks himself back to his normal size and proceeds to cause carnage on the streets. Back in the command room - with Discovery Command on high alert, the team (minus Jimmy) is holding an emergency summit on how to deal with Zen Cubois' attack, and no one can agree on how best to deal with the ongoing attack, due to a lack of preparation prior to Cubois' wrath. As mainly Michael and Daniel continue to clash over their ideal handling of the attack, Jimmy, without his uniform, comes in, and is instantly berated by Daniel for doing so, as Jimmy says that his field uniform was in the wash, which is his excuse. This leads to a heated clash between them both, but Erin, who has had enough of her boyfriend being told off, attacks Daniel in Jimmy's defence, but Michael stops her. Lester, who is watching a State Media report - which confirms that Malvor is also involved, says it will take a very long time before the zords become functional again, but the commander asks the team what the team could use for the time being. Jimmy says that they could use the Discovery Corps' military grade vehicles, while Laura points out Lester has a vehicle of his own, which may come in handy. With renewed confidence, the team form a plan; Michael will deal with Scourge, while the others deal with Cubois. Lester then mentions that he will leave Lester-Tron active in the command room to oversee the zord repairs, and with that, the team sets off.

The team - except Michael, already morphed, arrive in military-grade vehicles and attacks Zen Cubois; Laura arrives in a heavy duty ATV, with Jimmy manning the turret, while Daniel pilots a helicopter, as Erin, wielding a rocket launcher, is also onboard with him, as Lester uses the Continental Lunar Cycle, firing blasts at Cubois to hold him off. However, Cubois launches a blast towards Daniel's helicopter, causing it to go into freefall, but Daniel and Erin are able to land on the ground safely, attacking Cubois in the process. As this happens, Michael confronts Malvor, who vocally swears vengeance for his attack in defiance of Xenu being averted, and as the others struggle against Cubois - as several Rangers share the Whale Cannon, to the point where all but Lester are forced to de-morph, eventually defeats him. As Malvor recovers, he gloatingly taunts Michael, informing him that Cubois is about to destroy the other rangers, demanding to know why he wouldn't join them when he had the chance. This breaks Michael, whom Malvor tells is too late to save them, as this city will soon belong to Xenu, but Michael unleashes his animality and flies to rescue his friends, as Malvor brands him a coward. Meanwhile, Lester is the last one standing against Cubois, as Daniel and Laura begin to realise the importance of their mission, but Jimmy and Erin refuse to believe them, saying that Cubois is far too strong, with Jimmy, despondent that his weekend is ruined, even wishing Michael was here to help. As Zen Cubois subdues Lester, he fires a Xenzin blast towards the other four rangers - including the reluctant rookies, who block the attack by morphing. As the Isis III crew unleash make a fierce move to hold Cubois off, Michael, knowing his friends are in danger, flies in and gains the upper hand on Cubois, providing an opening for the others. During the struggle, Michael switches to Gorilla Form, but is eventually outmatched. Cubois then sends a shockwave towards the others, but they come running out of the explosion and subdue them with their Primal Defenders just as Lester recovers and provides an opening for them all. So, the four rangers perform a United Primal Blast, which bursts Cubois open, but before Michael, who morphs into Whale Warrior, is able to finish him off with his Whale Cannon, Cubois reconstructs and enlarges himself, sending a powerful Xenzin shockwave throughout the city, causing major damage. As this happens, Scourge, knowing how this will end, watches on, waiting to destroy Cubois as Malvor joins him.

As Cubois, who declares himself evil incarnate as he unleashes shockwaves of Xenzin to lay waste to the city, the rangers, after Jimmy panics about the status of the zords, get the go-ahead to summon them after being informed the repairs are complete. They immediately form the Discovery Ultrazord, but Cubois is far still more powerful than them, and knock the Ultrazord hard onto the ground. At this point, Lester finds out that the four M.A.Z. prototypes, the Micro Duck, Leopard, Owl and Zebra Zords, are now developed enough to be used as mainstream zords. So, they are summoned into the fray and provide a distraction for Cubois. After a short struggle, the Ultrazord unleashes a Big Bang Evolution at Cubois - reducing him to his core, before they all head out of the cockpit as Michael gets out his Whale Cannon and deliver a Primal Geyser at the core to seal it and its fragments, as a petrified Cubois, in his core, is sent flying, with the Rangers celebrating, assuming he has been destroyed for good. Later, Lester and Laura drive back to the campsite, as they discuss whether or not it is safe to resume their camping trip, a possible Xenu attack could happen, but Lester seems to think that everything is fine, seeing as they managed to destroy a general. When Laura and Lester arrive at the camp, they find the others asleep, with Jimmy and Erin all snuggled up; Lester notes that Cubois is possibly in worse shape than them, to which Laura agrees. Meanwhile, in a nearby quarry ravaged by the recent attack, Cubois - unbeknownst to the team, has survived his own impact; as Malvor and Scourge assess the damage in the city, he emerges from the rubble, having reconstructed himself off-screen, completely drained of his Xenzin, and stumbles across the area, vocally yelling his hatred for the Power Rangers, demanding to know why he was so close to destroying them. Malvor notices him, and tells Scoruge his plan may have failed, as Cubois has survived. Scourge, still determined to destroy Cubois, ambushes him and after Cubois demands to form an alliance with him, Scourge refues, and the two have a duel, as Scourge brutalises a severely weakened Cubois. In the end, a furious Scourge tells Cubois his days are over, and his are about to begin, before he reduces Cubois to his core with a single slash, before unleashing a blast of Xenzin Power to destroy every piece of Cubois, as Scoruge, as the remaining Xenzin from Cubois is funnelled into him, walks away as the shattered remains of Cubois explode behind him.
