The People Vs. Ranger Series Metal is the thirty-fifth episode of Power Rangers Universe. It features the debuts of the Stretch and Arrow Sector Keys.

Synopsis[]

Bronzee is able to find the corrupted Florian, and is determined to risk herself to bring her partner back to his senses, as Arthur and his friends continue to struggle with the threat Senator Pom-Pom continues to pose to them. Meanwhile in the past, 263, Colonel Xiao and the rest of the "special project" crew learn shocking new details about His Magnificence's past.

Plot[]

On an unspecified planet, Gazla visits Pom-Pom who is enjoys watching Metal Florian just absolutely relishing fighting Moonbillies and Roswells, but now with emotion. Suddenly, the team of rangers tasked with saving Florian hurries downtown when Florian begins rampaging, starting to lay absolute waste to the city. Bronzee steps forward and asks Florian to come back to them, but Florian just shoots at Balance, who takes the shot, almost in shock. Metal Florian proclaims that Florian Hebitsuvic is dead, and he claims he devoured his soul, as he morphs. Arthur knocks Bronzee out of the way of Florianā€™s attack as the others morph, trying to control Florian. Florian easily knocks them around, as Pom-Pom steps in to keep the four Kyurangers busy while Naga takes on Bronzee one-on-one, as Metal Florian deduces that she and the other rangers let the old Florian die in action, and slashes at her. Bronzee tires to remind Florian of their business, and their double act, but Florian just thinks Bronzee is mocking him, but Florian stabs Bronzee in the thigh and proceeds to mercilessly attack her. Pom-Pom then taunts the others and tells them that the way to get Florian back to normal is to hurt him so much that he forgets everything. Wild Bill has no problem with trying to make that happen, but Bronzee stops him, as she refuses to believe thatā€™s the only way.

Florian again attacks the rangers and they are all forced to de-morph. He absolutely loves this power that the metal spice grants him, and now that he has no use for the rangers, he wants to finish them off for good. This is when Malvor, a former general under Xenu decades ago, who now serves the Arkeyan Empire, chides the rangers for allowing their comrade to fall into madness, and if they were competent enough, maybe Florian would still be on their side. Russell easily recognises Malvor from his Legendary Ranger Knowledge Base, as one of many generals who The Discovery Rangers fought before. The three of them then disappear, leaving the rangers appalled, and struck further with guilt, having been unable to save Florian again; Bronzee is confident that this is not the real Florian, and leaves herself to find him. Meanwhile in the past, Agent Davis is slouching on the captain's seat as he waits for a status report from 263. As this occurs, 263 and his group have reached their destination and touch down on the area where the being who would later be known as His Magnificence would be born. From what they can find, they witness a bat indirectly biting on a nuclear tanker, which falls on an abandoned alien ship and the ensuing reaction causes the wreckage to shape-shift; according to Joi, the ship contained some sanctioned AI codes - which leaves Ryan to point out that the Arkeyans were created by humans. The creature enlarges, and soon notices the rangers' presence, and the rangers morph, and attempt to stop him, but the creature overpowers them, and forces all but 263 to de-morph. With a Blazing Storm Slash, 263 is able to hold it back, and he powers down as he and the others get to the Prometheus, before the vessel departs Earth in a pinch.

As the Prometheus gets to safety, His Magnificence's presence attracts several lifeforms ranging from Roswells and Moonbillies. He then summons a cosmic storm to destabilise the Prometheus, which provokes the vessel to activate its shields. Back on present-day earth, Bronzee is fondly remembering her time with Florian in high school, and how they got their idea for their existing lifestyle empire. She admits that she feels some level of guilt for not being there when Florian was in danger, but Arthur says it's not her fault, as she had a more important task to handle at the time. Megan then asks if Bronzee wants to keep running the same business empire that she and Florian have been running for years. Hearing that lifts Bronzee's spirits and decides that they should go and save Florian after all, although Russell warns them that if they do break Florian's brainwashing, his transformation could likely be permanent. With that, the five rangers run into Malvor, who is flanked by Pom-Pom and Metal Florian, who are continuing to rampage. Arthur, Megan, Bill and Russell take on Pom-Pom while Balance faces off against Naga, as Malvor watches in satisfaction. Pom-Pom reminds them that they have to hurt Florian to get him back to normal, maybe even to the point of death. Arthur uses the Light Sector Key to initiate a Solar Boost, which of course also powers up Bronzee. She goes full force at Florian and they battle down the steps. Bronzee tries to remind Florian about how funny he is, and how silly they both are.

He is able to pin Florian to the ground and locks in the Arrow Sector Key to her Uni-Bowgun. She points it at Florian, who just laughss; he doesnā€™t think Florian will shoot, so Bronzee pauses before she shoots into the air, unleashing a swarm of arrows. Bronzee gets thrown aside as he and Florian are both forced to demorph, as a concerned Bronzee crawls toward a badly injured Florian, seeing this as an advantage to erase his metal spice-induced brainwashing, but Florian kicks her face. It doesnā€™t appear Florian is in any state to be brought back to his senses, and the others are shocked that it didnā€™t work. Pom-Pom just cackles and says she lied to them, as Malvor chides them for not doing more at the time, and deduces another ranger will be turned against them. Florian deduces that the metal spice that the rangers gifted him with is more powerful than he ever dreamed of, wondering why they didn't take it like he did, and he vows to destroy them. Pom-Pom whisks Florian away, but also leaves two embiggened Moonbillies for the rangers, while Malvor intends to provide a distraction. Russell says that he and Bronzee will hold off Malvor, and tells Arthur, Megan and Bill to summon their voyagers; since there are only three, Arthur uses the Clone Sector Key to make duplicates of Megan and Bill, in order to ensure they have enough people to form the megazord. With that, the Voyager Squad Megazord is formed by Arthur, Megan and her duplicate, and Bill and his duplicate. As Russell and Bronzee manage to fend off Malvor, despite the latter being in bad shape, Arthur and the others quickly take care of the two Moonbillies, while Malvor retreats.

Later, the rangers try to come to terms with the idea that the old Naga is lost forever, with Russell stating that the Florian they once knew could very well be gone forever, and it could mean having no choice but to destroy him unless there's a compelling way to get him back. Arthur will not allow that because Florian is their comrade, and there may be a shred of the old Florian in there somewhere. Bronzee says that she will continue to protect her partner and save him. As all of this happens, the Prometheus struggles to reach the time portal back to the present in the midst of the cosmic storm, and narrowly enters the portal. As the vessel returns to the present, 263 celebrates a project well done, and he gleefully declares that the crew set a course for the Destiny, as they have some important information about the Arkeyans' beginnings to share with Arthur. He is then quashed immediately by Colonel Xiao, who reveals that the rangers taking part in the special project's next stages have been confirmed, and that the new supreme commander has ordered them to the Interstellar Alliance Headquarters, the Xion, for an emergency summit with the president of the Alliance, who believes that the rangers' recent actions could be a turning point in the war against Star Battleforce and the Arkeyans. With that, the Prometheus sets a course for the Xion.
