Synopsis

Plot
A group of Virgo carriers head towards Earth in order to attack a Treize Faction base. The narrator explains Operation Nova, which is the Storm Battalion's plan to send Virgo Attack Drones to Earth to deal with those that oppose them. The Virgo carriers reach Earth just as the Treize Factions send shuttles containing Arieses to intercept them. The Arieses attack, but due to the Virgo's shields, their shots are deflected and they are easily defeated.
The narrator continues to explain how the Storm Battalion was successful with the Attack Drones, which easily destroyed all opposition. Treize opposed this and resigned as head of OZ. Because the Storm Battalion confined Treize, those in OZ who also opposed the Attack Drones formed a group called the Treize Faction. In the Storm Battalion Headquarters, Duke Dermail talks to Tubarov on his computer. Dermail tells Tubarov to send more Attack Drones to Earth. Tubarov tells him that they have captured Alfred and Claudius, and the mechs they were in. Dermail tells him to execute the Power Rangers.
In space, the carriers with the Kabuto Fortress Zord and Giant Driller arrive at the Lunar Base. Alfred and Claudius are brought down an elevator by OZ soldiers. When Claudius sees the remains of the Zabyun Express he tries to escape, as does Alfred, but they are restrained. The OZ soldiers are about to execute them when the Treize Faction arrives and captures them. Elsewhere in the Lunar Base, Lieutenant Craw shows extreme interest in the Kabuto Fortress Zord and has a pilot test it out. Kabuto's cockpit greatly increases the pilot's ability. Tubarov tells Craw to destroy it, that the Insectorzords must be wiped out of existence and that this is a waste of time. Craw agrees to destroy it, but not until he gets data on the Power Rangers who can fight at the same level as the Attack Drones.
Meanwhile, the Insectorzord engineers examine Claudius and find that Kabuto hasn't had too much of an effect on him after battle. Doctor J and the others inform the two Power Rangers of recent events; Trieze's resignation, Lady Une's apparent death, and the escape of the other two rangers. They doubt that Malakai is still alive, but Claudius says that the country in the area could have saved him. The engineers tell the two rangers that the Kabutack System can greatly increase the pilot's abilities, but can warp his or her mind so they will attack their allies. Doctor J says they must become perfect soldiers to defeat the Attack Drones.
Alfred studies the Kabuto Fortress Zord on a computer. Claudius tells him that he didn't pay too much attention to the Kabutack System, he focused on the beam cannon, which has now been lost. The Hercules Axe and Shoulder Vulcans remain as weapons. Alfred doesn't want to leave Kabuto in the hands of the enemy. Claudius wonders who their enemies really are; Alfred tells him that those who try to take his life, and those that are his targets are his enemies. OZ troops capture the Treize Faction; they will keep them alive as long as they turn over the Power Rangers.
Alfred is tested against a Attack Drone simulation in Kabuto's cockpit with his new powers in Emperor Mode and combines with the other zords (including Zechs' Araneae, Centipede and Cicada) to form the Majestic Insector Megazord. Claudius considers the Kabuto Fortress Zord a mistake; Alfred wonders who his enemies are in the cockpit. He suddenly escapes in it and demolishes all the Virgo Attack Drones that try to stop him. He sees the Insectorzord engineers as his enemies and goes to kill them. The engineers are able to escape though. Craw is unable to contact Tubarov for assistance, because it is his mistake that caused this.
Claudius gets in the Giant Driller in order to stop Alfred. Kabuto blasts through the Attack Drones and encounters Giant Driller. He attacks Claudius, who says he'll self-destruct both mechs if Alfred doesn't stop. Claudius says that they aren't needed in outer space. Alfred sees a vision of Claudius while in the cockpit, who tells him they must not fight each other. Alfred gets out of the megazord and sees a vision of Relena before collapsing. Clauius gets out of the Giant Driller after it collapses; he says that they will return to the Earth. The Giant Driller self-destructs; Alfred and Claudius are able to escape in a shuttle during the frenzy with the zords. The scientists, who made it out alive yet again see the Kabuto Fortress Zord, undamaged. Doctor J says that they will not be defeated by Kabuto; they'll prevail in it.
