The Sony Era is the unofficial term that refers to the seasons of Power Rangers that were produced after Sony acquired the franchise from Hasbro in December 2024 (with Hasbro continuing to distribute and manufacture the toys). The Sony Era started in 2025 with Power Rangers S.P.D. (2025), released on the streaming service Netflix.
As part of Sony's partnership with Netflix, individual seasons generally consist of a total of 20 episodes split into two 10 episode volumes released in March and September, respectively.
In-universe, this era is known as the Fifth Post-Zordon Era or else just the Fifth Era for short. This is the fifth of the Post-Zordon Eras.

History[]
In November 2024, Hasbro and Sony came to an agreement where Sony would finance future Power Rangers projects. Later that month, Sony announced its interest in acquiring the franchise, should the opportunity emerge. In December 2024, Sony announced that it had acquired the franchise in a three-way exchange in both cash and intellectual properties between itself, Hasbro, and former Power Rangers owner Disney, with Hasbro retaining its master toy license for the brand in the deal. Haim Saban also announced his second retirement from the franchise following its acquisition by Sony.
The production values in this era are considered to be the best of the six eras, as the acting is generally better; the music is more varied, being a mixture of music created in-house, re-used music from previous seasons, and popular music from artists unaffiliated with the franchise; the plots are generally darker and more mature than in previous seasons (a trend started at the end of the previous era in Power Rangers: Day of the Dragon); and its clear that, unlike all previous owners, Sony was quite willing to invest more money in the franchise, viewing it more as an investment than just a quick way to sell toys.
