Silas is a major antagonist in Power Rangers Space Pirates. He was an archenemy of Ewan after having sought to seize the Zaferia Stones to destroy the universe and for having tried multiple times to provoke him.
History[]
Ally of Armada[]
Armada acknowledged him as an ally as he only attacked enemies of the Armada, thus he was officially recognized as a privateer for Zangyack. Silas became an acquaintance of Armada Chief of Staff, Damaras. With the Space Pirates Rangers traveling in the Space Skyship Zord, Silas traveled with his own ship which appeared to be a modified Armada battleship. Silas gained a partner, Sally the space monkey, who moves quickly and attacks with two cymbals. During this time, Silas managed to discover even the Legendary Ranger Keys, leading him to create copies of them in addition to creating his own trumpet to control them.

Personality[]
Like his counterpart, Silas is a greedy, devious, and cruel villain who is the opposite of Jordan in almost every aspect except for their interest in lying. Although he retains a thirst for treasure and a determination to get what he wants, as well as all the cunning a pirate possesses, he possesses two fatal character flaws: he is arrogant and exceptionally vain. Silas seems to care about Sally, when the Super Mega Rangers attempted to finish him off, Silas, showing genuine concern for Sally, intervened and took their attacks. Later, when Sally was pushed away by Damaras while trying to protect Silas, this led to him fighting with Damaras. Basco is often smug and likes to have fun with everyone, but he also takes things seriously when necessary. He appeared understandably tense when Damaras, who is largely equal to him, lost patience with him and threatened his life. Silas does not hesitate to betray his allies when he needs to.

Although he appears human, his true form is that of a monster clad in pirate-like armor. His strength is comparable to that of Damaras and Emperor Mavro. He is strong enough to emit red and black energy from his body that can deal a lot of damage, send out red energy slashes using his saber, and shoot out red lightning and energy blasts from his hands. He can redirect attacks and throw them back. He is also incredibly fast, being able to attack the Space Pirates Rangers with delayed effect by turning into a red blur. This form allows Silas to take a lot of punishment. Silas can also perform a devastating finisher attack. The Final Dual
When Silas' monster form was first revealed to the Space Pirates Rangers, he swiftly defeated them with almost no effort. The Grass is Always Greener… or Bluer However, it would seem that the sudden appearance of this form was a factor in the Space Pirates Rangers' reactions, as when Silas attempted gain the Zaferia Stone of the Space Rangers, despite defeating Orion quite easily initially, Orion and Ewan were able to hold their own against him later while Zion, Julia, Jack and Clare took on Sally. Rangers in Space Despite Silas' great strength, even he was inferior to Damaras.
