Samuel "Sam" Benson is one of the main protagonists of Power Rangers Battle Bumpers. He is the younger brother of Jarrod Benson Jr. and boyfriend of Hannah Krenshaw who morphs into the second Bumper Orange, the Orange Ranger of the Battle Bumper Rangers. He is 16 years old, making him and Hannah the youngest members of the team.
Character History[]
Sam is the youngest son of the Benson family, often hanging out with his older brother, Jarrod, on special occasions. Then on one night, their home was ruthlessly attacked by one of the Aurora Guardians' captains, Malice. The attack left behind a devastating end: Sam and Jarrod's parents were killed by Malice, scarring both of them as they watched, powerless to stop it. As time went by, Jarrod overcame the trauma of seeing his parents being ruthlessly murdered by Malice, while Sam struggled to get over it, as it took a massive toll on him. To make matters worse, Sam always got bullied ever since his freshman year because of the incident now that he had no parents. One day, Sam was approached by Randy, he was given the Bumper Axe, but he didn't want to fight. Despite that, Randy left it for him in case he changed his mind. On that day, Bumper Orange came to be. Overtime, Sam would later become less of a coward after joining the team, and he even managed to finally conquer his habit of being bullied.

Personality[]
Sam has a positive heart but comes with a mysterious and wacky attitude. When it comes to taking part in battle with his teammates, he is proficient in battle while using the Bumper Axe in Axe Mode. However, despite having a positive heart, Sam comes with an extremely complex past and struggles to cope with the death of his parents. Additionally, he has almost never been able to get over his parents' death, especially considering he witnessed it alongside his brother firsthand.

Sam and Jarrod both witnessed the murder of their parents Jarrod Sr. and Caroline, executed by Malice himself, with said tragedy taking a great toll on Sam. Not only did Malice kill their parents in pursuit of the Accel Boosters, he also gave Sam and Jarrod a death threat if they spoke about the incident to anybody. When Malice resurfaced, Sam was greatly enraged by just his arrival alone, thus confirming that Malice is no less than an archenemy to Sam.
