It also features a brief appearance from Ranger Series Phoenix and his zord, the Phoenix Steel Zord.
Synopsis[]
Dimitri, desperate to exact his vengeance on Toxstatin, makes his way to Earth to confront his cousin alone but ends up controlled by his poison. As the Arkeyans exact a huge takeover attempt on Earth, the other rangers rush to help him while racing against time to avert the re-occupation, while Russell begins to contemplate joining the team in battle again.
Plot[]
Continuing from the previous episode, Dimitri and Toxstatin battle. Dimitri says he is here alone because he refuses to be a burden to his friends any longer, and thatās exactly what Colonel Xiao thinks Dimitri would do. He informs the others, who are en route back to the Destiny from Moorlands, that the Sector Keys have been taken, and tells Bronzee to return to the Destiny while the others hurry to Dimitri and the Sector Keys as the A-Drone fleet will be arriving on Earth soon. At the Destiny's promenade, Moose is greeted by Russell - overworked by monitoring Wild Bill and Joi's condition, who has a vital update for Moose - he will have to have his remaining repairs done at the Interstellar Alliance HQ, and proceeds to deliver his incapacitated comrade, who hopes Dimitri hasn't lost all hope. Elsewhere, Octiqua shows up to help her Toxstatin, but he tells her to stay back. Toxstatin scoffs at Dimitri thinking he could be any match for him, but all of a sudden, Dimitri accidently stings himself with his tail, infecting himself with poison infused with the a Scorpio Sector "trademark" known as the "Antares Technique", which gives their attack abilities a significant boost. Indeed, Dimitri is able to finally knock his cousin around, but Toxstatin still has the upper hand. He hardens his Leg and strikes Dimitri in the skull, causing him to fall unconscious. Suddenly, Arthur, Megan, Ryan and Florian arrive, and see Dimitriās infected face, but he tells them not to interfere. They refuse to and charge at Toxstatin, but Octiqua takes them on instead. Toxstatin picks up the Sector Keys, but Ryan, Megan and Florian blast at him, but Toxstatin retaliates by stinging all three of them, forcing them to demorph, and leaving them poisoned. Arthur, shocked, is able to distract Toxstatin, but the latter takes Dimitri with him and they both disappear; Arthur is infuriated, and punches the floor in frustration.
Back on board the Destiny, Florian, Megan and Ryan join the already poisoned Wild Bill and Joi, as Russell, who has recently just discovered that the nerve agent that Ryan, Megan and Florian have been stung with is far more worse, and more advanced that the one previously used when Dimitri first ran into the rangers. Arthur wants to know if the current serum will work, but Russell says he tried that three times, but this time it was no use; Russell then confides to Arthur that Dimitri has double-crossed the rangers, and accused them of not doing enough to benefit his own goals above the main purpose of the mission. After Colonel Xiao calls them onto the bridge, the commanding officer shows them a recording from Dimitri, via the Broadcast Sector Key. Stinger says he is abandoning Star Battleforce so he can focus on his brother - accusing them of acting too slowly. He describes Antares and says those who use the technique are beyond salvation. He says while that fighting with them has been an honor, he had become increasingly disilusioned by how his teammates had helped him in his cause. Arthur is shocked, and wants to save Dimitri, as he had become their comrade, especially since he was the one who convinced him to join in the first place. The alarm suddenly sounds when the A-Drone fleet finally arrives on Earth, as the A-Drones plant themselves across the planet - thus beggining the re-occupation process, and Toxstatin broadcasts his message; He tells the humans that Earth will be destroyed, and intends to frame Star Battleforce for its destruction. Russell realises that the whole crew is about to go in short-handed at this point, so Arthur gives him a chance to escort them to Earth, since he does consider Dimitri his uncle, and that could be what he needs to cement his position. With that, Arthur, Colonel Xiao, and Russell are resolved more than ever to save Earth as well as their friend. Xiao orders Bronzee to be in control of the Orion while the rest of them head down to Earth. Bronzee gives them Dimitriās Uni-Controller and the antidote she made - which will later be used to treat the others, from before just in case.
Meanwhile, on Earth, Toxstatin has Dimitri tied up in his A-Drone and they watch the Earthlings protesting against the Kyurangers; Dimitri asks his cousin why he wants to be strong so much. Toxstatin says you can get anything you want when youāre strong, even the entire galaxy. Dimitri is shocked by Toxstatin's advice, and remembers how when he was young and lived in a remote village in Russia with the rest of his community, it was Toxstatin who would come to his rescue as he was weak, especially against the local bullies. Dimitri knows Toxstatin sought strength to protect him. But he witnessed how Scorpio got that strength twisted, and itās all because of his own weakness. Toxstatin says he sought strength for himself, nothing else. In fact, Toxstatin says he āwas never interestedā in Dimitri. Dimitri then comes to terms with the fact that the kind cousin he once knew is gone now. Toxstatin agrees and proceeds to inject Stinger with even more poison, causing Dimitri to scream in pain. As Bronzee struggles to make an advanced antidote for the others back on board the Destiny, the remains of governments on Earth are in disarray on how to deal with Arkeyan re-occupation, and once-recovering life on the wounded planet has descended back into chaos. Arthur, Colonel Xiao and Russell arrive in the desolated Washington D.C., where the U.S. Senate is struggling to pass a bill to fund Star Battleforce-endorsed weapons and global relief efforts, as Arthur spots mass protests happening on the streets. Colonel Xiao tells Arthur and Russell they must negotiate a treaty with the U.S. government to aid their efforts in the coming attack, as well as to secure weapons capable of averting a world-ending disaster.
As Bronzee is able to complete the modified antidote, Colonel Xiao, Arthur and Russell are at the committee in hopes of securing more weapons for Star Battleforce, but Senator Fisher decides to run the weaponisation scheme with only 30% of the former money since he also doesn't believe the story of the Arkeyans. He believes they should focus their efforts on building more Daedalus-class ships for the Interstellar Alliance. Back on the Destiny, Ryan, Megan and Florian recover from the advanced poisoning thanks to the advanced serum, but is taking a while in the case of Joi and Bill. As they watch the proceedings happen on the security camera, they detect energy readings across Washington, heavily implying that more A-Drones have made it onto the land. As this happens, Arthur, and eventually Russell, get into a war of words with Senator Fisher over Earth's handling of human survivors, talks between Star Battleforce and the U.S. Senate hit an impasse. Before more negotiations can begin, anarchy begins to erupt around the city as the A-Drones begin consuming large portions of Earth's Planesium; this prompts Ryan to react, and he and Megan morph, and depart in their voyagers to head down to Earth to assess the chaos. This message is soon relayed to Colonel Xiao, as he and Arthur find out about the re-occupation process. As the two rush out of the building as the senate decends into chaos, Russell, knowing that they are short-handed against Toxstatin, and still unsure about joining the rangers in battle again following his suspension, contemplates whether or not he should do so again. Remembering Joi's advice to him before he was turned into a ranger against his own will, he makes his mind up, and decides to do so. At the same time, Ryan and Megan arrive on Earth, and attempt to disarm an A-Drone with the Voyager's weapons.
Arthur and Colonel Xiao proceed towards Toxtstatin's A-Drone. Toxstatin tells Octiqua to take control of the A-Drone while he leaves to take care of the Star Battleforce Rangers. Octiqua asks what to do with Dimitri, but Toxstatin just says heāll wake up soon. The duo are about to confront Toxstatin, moments before Russell rushes to their side, and confirms he's made his mind up about his place on the team, despite the fact he was previously suspended, and is willing to fight with them whenever he is needed, especially because that's Dimitri would have wanted him to do - keep fighting. To this end, Arthur gives Russell his Sector Key and Uni-Controller back, and Russell is happy to be fighting with them again. As Megan and Ryan struggle to penetrate the A-Drone's defences, Toxstatin arrives and tells them to hand over the Deck Sector Key, but they wonāt hand it over since they know even if they did, Toxstatin would still obliterate Earth. After the three rangers morph, Toxstatin summons Roswells and embiggened Moonbillies to keep them busy. In response, Colonel Xiao joins Megan and Ryan and forms the Drago Pride Megazord with them both, in order to deal with the incoming Moonbillies. Arthur and Russell fight Toxstatin, but Dimitri suddenly jumps in and attacks them; the extra poison has turned him into a complete rage-fuelled monster. As the ensuing chaos unfolds, another A-Drone appears, providing another distraction for Colonel Xiao, Megan and Ryan. Elsewhere, at the Interstellar Alliance HQ, engineers are making final repairs to Moose, and prepare to initiate the activation sequence, and as such, his eyes light up.
As Arthur and Russell continue to fight Dimitri, Ryan, Megan and Colonel Xiao are being overwhelmed by the A-Drone continuing to repel its attacks, and hordes of Moonbillies attacking them. Suddenly, a large space rocket-like zord rains down missiles the Moonbilly horde, and Colonel Xiao, Ryan and Megan have no idea who or what it is. The zord is being piloted by a mysterious, ranger-like figure, and effortlessly takes out the Arkeyan onslaught, destroying all the A-Drones dispatched onto Earth, thus everting the re-occupation. As the mysterious new ranger blasts away from the scene, Ryan and Megan, although relieved that the attempted re-occupation has been averted, continue to wonder who had just helped them, but Megan begins to wonder about Dimitri's condition. As such, Arthur and Russell are getting hurled around by the mutated Dimitri. Toxstatin mocks them, but Arthur remains defiant, as Toxstatin tosses Arthur into a pile of crates, leaving Russell out in the open for Dimitri to attack, as Dimitriās attacks force Russell to demorph. Scorpio tells Lucky to watch as someone weaker than him dies, but Russell knocks Stingerās tail away, allowing Arthur to grab a canister of antidote and toss it to Russell so he can inject it into Dimitri. Arthur keeps Toxstatin busy as Russell fights off Dimitriās tail to get close to him, moments before he is forced to demorph, as Toxstatin says the antidote is useless. Russell is confident it will work on Dimitri, as he says Dimitri is the only person he considers his uncle. He again weaves his way toward Dimitri, avoiding his tail. He finally gets close to Dimitri, but Dimitri swats away Mooseās Sector Key out of Russellās uniform pocket. Seeing the Sector Key awakens something inside Dimitri who remembers his time with Moose. The momentary distraction allows Russell to administer the antidote by stabbing it into Dimitriās back, thus freeing Dimitri from the venom.
As Dimitri comes to his senses and picks up Moose's Sector Key, Arthur and Russell rush to him, as Russell hugs his uncle. Arthur, upon explaining how much Dimitri means to them, asks Dimitri why he went at this alone, and why he would put his interests first before the mission at large. Dimitri apologises for his earlier attitude and says he didnāt want to burden them and risk them suffering the same fate as Moose. Arthur says Moose would be upset, and even mentions that he is on the verge of recovery - and that he was even worried for him, fearing that Dimitri would lose alone; Dimitri, moved by how much the team actually cares for him, remembers Moose saying not to bear it all alone. Arthur hands Dimitri his uniform and Uni-Controller back and says there is no doubt he is stronger than Toxstatin, especially when they fight together as a team. As DImitri dons his uniform again, Toxstatin says they are still weaklings, regardless of number. But Dimitri says he is stronger because he has friends by his side, and leads Arthur and Russell in a morph, before charging before Toxstatin. As the fight rages, DImitri maintains that while his cousin is strong, he is strong because he has comrades. Dimitri, Russell and Arthur all deliver Impact Strikes at Toxstatin, sending him flying, but he refuses to lose her, and shatters his mask sends waves of attacks back at the rangers. Dimitri isnāt ready to give up either, but unbeknownst to the others, some excess poison continues to affect his body; he, Arthur and Russell get up and charge toward Toxstatin who hardens his leg and kicks them right back, forcing them to demorph. Toxstatin prepares to deliver the final blow, but a familiar voice calls out "did you miss me?" - as a familiar Uni-Axe comes flying out of nowhere to stop him - it's no other than Moose, who has now been fully repaired, as the rangers, Dimitri in particular, are happy that he has been restored.
