Rocco "Rocky" DeSantos is the Red Dragon Squadron Ranger, leader of the Shaolin Squadron Rangers.

Two years later, Rocky became the Zeo Ranger III - Blue of the Zeo Rangers.

Retroactively, he is also referred to as the Red Squadron Ranger or Red Shaolin Squadron Ranger, as well as Zeo Blue Ranger or Blue Zeo Ranger, though these are in reference to the series as opposed to proper labels.

Character History[]

Stone Canyon Trio[]

Rocky first met Tommy Oliver, Kimberly Hart, and Billy Cranston (the Mighty Morphin Green, Pink, and Blue Rangers respectively) after saving a baby along with his friends Adam Park, Richie Miller, Aidan Campbell, and Rebecca Hart. The five of them lived in Stone Canyon, California and were visiting Angel Grove to represent Stone Canyon in the Team Ninja Competition. Because of his skill as a martial artist, Rocky became an immediate target of Lord Zedd once he defeated his prospective future Dark Rangers (the cruel ninjas in black that he and his friends went up against) and chose them instead. Along with Adam and Aisha, ended up kidnapped and thrown in the Dimension of Despair, along with their Stone Canyon teacher, Mr. Anderson.

After the teens returned their powers to Zordon, Tommy leaves and Rocky was chosen to replace Jason as both the leader of the Power Rangers and the Red Ranger, as he was handed control over the Red Dragon Shaolinzord.

Zeo[]

All the Rangers returned with their sub-crystals, save Aidan and Rebecca, who gave their Zeo Crystals to two new teens: Tanya and Kat. As Richie retired and decided to help Zordon. W hen he returned back to his real age the second time, Rocky and the others had to escape the doomed Command Center from a planted bomb by Rito and Goldar. From the wreckage, the Rangers found the Zeo Crystal and the entrance to the Power Chamber, where Zordon and Alpha were still alive. However, a new threat to Earth came in the form of King Mondo and his Machine Empire.

After that, the Rangers met an alien named Trey of Triforia, the Gold Ranger, however, he could not hold his powers, and since Richie could not use it, Rocky's Red Ranger predescessor, Jas on Lee Scott, was approached to use it However, Jason could not keep his powers for lon Rocky then started to feel very lonely because everyone wanted to do stuff with Jason instead of him, but everything went back to normal after Jason returned to Gold Ranger powers to Trey.

Captain Fury[]

Years after King Mondo's defeat, Rocky rejoined both the Shaolin Squadron and Zeo Rangers to fight off an army of X-Borgs.

During the scavenger hunt for the Shaolin Squadron power, it is revealed that Rocky opened his own Chinese food shop, and the Rangers eat there for lunch while looking for it. After facing off against Sun Sukong, Rocky gives them the Legendary Power.

Cube Morphers vs. Shuriken Guardians[]

Rocky then joined both his teams to help the Cube Morphers and the Shuriken Guardians defeat Emperor Zarkon and Mega-Galvanax again.

Personality[]

Rocky loved to have fun and enjoyed going to dances, carnivals, parties, luaus, and hanging out at Ernie's. He was more than willing to join in a scavenger hunt, helping in clean-up projects, and even become a stuntman in a sci-fi movie. Rocky liked to stimulate his mind as well. He attempted to teach a chemistry class, enjoyed computer science, and botany classes and going to museums and learning about other cultures.

Rocky is a guy with a big appetite for both food and life and keeps his energy going by staying physically active. He enjoys working on his karate, running with the other guys, playing volleyball, football, snowboarding, even doing splits. He also channeled his energy into serving as a lifeguard.

  • Zeo III Power Punch: Rocky's signature attack as Zeo Ranger III when he jumps into the air and surrounds himself in a blue hamster ball like aura of energy before launching himself forward to slam into the enemy's chest. This was strong enough to destroy up to three Cogs with one hit and defeat Defector.
