Power Rangers Fanon Wiki:User Rights

Different users have access to different functions of the site. While anyone can do most things on the site, including reading and editing, administrators, content moderators, and thread moderators can access a few additional functions.

What do these positions do?

Thread Moderator Abilities

• They can delete blogs and blog comments.
• They can lock comments on blogs
• They can rename blogs.

Content Moderator Abilities

• They can delete and move protected pages.
• They can delete and move files.
• They can undelete pages and files.
• They can rollback edits.
• They can re-upload files.
• They can protect and unprotect pages.
• They can delete blogs and blog comments.
• They can lock comments on blogs
• They can rename blogs.

Administrator Abilities

• They have all the user rights as Content Moderators and Thread Moderators.
• They can ban/block IP addresses/users who are vandalizing the wiki from editing.
• They can edit the wiki's Javascript and CSS; in other words, its interface by changing system messages and skins.

What does the Administration Team do?

• Give warnings and ban vandalizers/griefers.
• Keep order on the wiki and settle disputes on the wiki.
• Clear spam articles from wiki.
• Update the wiki and keep it modernized.

Who are this wiki's administrators?

The "founder" of a wiki, the person who first requested it, is given administrator access automatically. Founders are also given bureaucrat access so they can make any other user on their wiki an administrator or bureaucrat. All admins and bureaucrats are identified with light green/green text (depending on what theme you're using). For a complete list of users with administrator access, see Special:Listusers/sysop.

What can administrators not do?

Admins should never abuse user/abilities rights for their own gain. If abuse is noticed, it will result in immediate termination of users rights and a ban from the wiki. Admin user rights should be only used to clean up vandalism, organize and clear spam from the wiki. Admins still follow the same rules and policies as everyone else.

If a user is seeking to demote an admin, it must be because the admin either has seen consistently breaking the rules, the admin has been inactive for a long period of time or another fair reason.

What's the difference between a Bureaucrat and an Administrator?

A Bureaucrat is a user that can make other users bureaucrats or administrators on the wiki. Admins do not have this ability. However, they cannot remove the bureaucrat rights from another user. A Fandom Community Staff member must do this.

How Many Admins and Content Moderators Can There Be?

• Admins: 10
• Content Mods: 4
• Thread Mods: 4

Where Do I Apply

You may apply at "Power Rangers Fanon Wiki:Requests for User Rights".

If there are no active bureaucrats, use the "Requests for User Rights" page to nominate users to become admins or bureaucrats. Once a community decision has been reached (or if there is no active community to debate the decision), please leave a message at the wiki adoption requests page and Wikia Staff can provide the rights.

Requirements

Requirements to Vote

• You must be active on the wiki for at least 2 weeks.
• You must not have any history of being banned on the wiki. If you fall under this category then you are ineligible to vote for 1 year from the date the block ended. (In other words you must be ban or block free for 1 year since the end of the ban/block). This includes local blocks on the Wiki and Global blocks..
• You must provide a fair reason for your vote.

Requirements to Request

• You must be active on the wiki for at least 1 month.
• You must edit regularly.
• You must add a fair explanation of why you/other user deserve to join the Content Mod or Admin teams.
• You may also nominate other people to these positions, but please advise that person before doing so.

Requirements for Thread Moderator

• You must be active on the wiki for at least 2 months.
• You must plan to be a regular user on the forum pages. We will not give the role to users who do not plan on being a regular on the forum pages.
• You must be in a good standing with the wiki.
• You must have at least 3 up-votes in your favor to become a Thread Moderator.
• If appointed, users must maintain an active presence on the forum page, making at least 1-2 posts a week.

Requirements for Content Moderator

• You must be active on the wiki for at least 3 months.
• You must not have any sort of blocks or bans. If you fall under this category then you are ineligible to apply for 1 year from the date the block ended. (In other words you must be ban or block free for 1 year since the end of the ban/block). This includes local blocks on the Wiki and Global blocks.
• You must have at least 3 up-votes in your favor to become an Content Moderator.

Requirements for Administrator

• You must be active on the wiki for at least 6 months.
• You must not have any sort of blocks or bans. If you fall under this category then you are ineligible to apply for 1 year from the date the block ended. (In other words you must be ban or block free for 1 year since the end of the ban/block). This includes local blocks on the Wiki and Global blocks.
• You must be a Content Moderator for at least 6 months before requesting.
• You must have at least 5 up-votes in your favor to become an Administrator.
• If you are an existing thread mod and/or content mod, you must vacate your role when appointed.

Requirements for Bureaucrat

• You must be active on the wiki for at least 1 year.
• You must not have any sort of blocks or bans. If you fall under this category then you are ineligible to apply for 1 year from the date the block ended. (In other words you must be ban or block free for 1 year since the end of the ban/block). This includes local blocks on the Wiki and Global blocks..
• You must be an Administrator for at least 1 year before requesting.
• You must have at least 6 up-votes in your favor to become a Bureaucrat.

Note: After you reach the minimum amount of votes to gain new user rights, the administration will review the request and give a final say. Gaining the minimum amount of votes does not automatically mean you will be promoted.

If you are inactive for over three months, you will be demoted to a rollback. If you are inactive for another three months after that, you will be demoted to a regular user.

Format for Voting

Voting will take place in the comments section of each request page using 🟢 or 🔴. It should look something like this:
