Power Rangers Dino Charge is the 21st season of Power Rangers, serving as an adaptation of the Super Sentai series Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger. Plot elements of the series are carried over into its sequel Power Rangers Dino Super Charge.

Production[]

"Power Rangers Dino Charge" was trademarked by Saban Brands in 2014 prior to the run of Power Rangers Space Pirates.

Plot[]

""Millions of years ago, the evil Sledge tried to steal the greatest power in the universe. But an alien named Keeper entrusted them to dinosaurs. As for Sledge... He was blasted deep into space. Now the Energems have been found, and Sledge returns to battle a new team of heroes; they are... Power Rangers Dino Charge!""
ā€•Opening narration[src]

Sixty-five million years ago, the legendary, transcendent Energems were given to ten dinosaurs for safekeeping by an alien named Keeper. But when Sledge, an intergalactic bounty hunter, attempted to acquire the Energems, his ship was blasted into space and his asteroids crash on Earth, leading to the extinction of the dinosaurs and the Energems being lost with them. Now, in the present day, Sledge is back and starts sniffing around Earth looking for the Energems in order to harness their power and annihilate the world, so a team of Power Rangers form to find the Energems first and fight the bounty hunter and other threats with dino-powered swords, blasters, Zords, and Megazords.

Notes[]

  • Unlike the last three seasons, this Dino Charge fanfiction is exactly the same as Dino(Super) Charge except this time Kyoryuger was adapted into a single season.
  • This is the first Power Rangers season to not have any Multi-Part Episodes.
  • The Super Ninja Steel episode "Echoes of Evil" confirms that the Dino Charge series is in a separate universe, similar to Power Rangers RPM.
  • The episode "Sync or Swim" marks the 800th Episode of Power Rangers.
  • This series features the first Grey (graphite) Ranger.
  • This series has the peculiarity of having a three-Zord formation for the Megazord even when there are 5 main Rangers.
  • This is the first Power Rangers series not to feature a Yellow Power Ranger.
  • This is the first season to completely bypass a season of Super Sentai, skipping Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters to instead adapt Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger.
  • This is the first season to premiere on Spacetoon in 2016.
  • This is the first season to have ten Rangers.
  • This is also the first Season of Power Rangers to feature the first official Graphite and Aqua Rangers.
  • It was reported that the series will contain elements from the skipped sentai show Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters. This was not the case.[1]
  • Similar to how Power Rangers Samurai showcased the Mega Modes on official merchandise, this season showed the Rangers in their Dino Super Drive modes.
  • When a Ranger charges the Dino Super Drive Saber for the finishing attack, the Para Charger has the T-Rex icon on it. It remains as a constant error throughout the season.
    • The episodes uploaded on YouTube avoid this error by trimming the footage, hence omitting the part where the Dino Chargers are first shown and leaving only the part where they enter the Saber.
  • An adaptation of Deathryuger or Kyoryu Navy for Dino Charge was believed by fans to be in the works through the insertion of the #00 Dino Charger into the DX Dino Charge Morpher which resulted in a sound for a "Talon Ranger" However, Yoshi Sudarso later stated in an interview that "Talon" was actually the original production name for Zenowing (which was later changed due to unknown circumstances) and that Deathryuger was never being considered for Dino Charge at all.[2][3]
    • In 2018 during a Boom! Studios panel at Power Morphicon, Ryan Carter revealed that the suit would appear in the comics under the name Dark Ranger, whom Heckyl debuts as in Issue 31 of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers (Boom! Studios) series following the final episode. Heckyl would make his live-action debut as the Dark Ranger in Power Rangers Dino Fury, though he utilizes Kyoryu Navy's helmet instead as the streak on the edges of the visor is gray, not red. Cosmic Fury showrunner Simon Bennett stated that it was the helmet that Toei supplied along with the suit, with no given reason as to why the helmet was sourced from a different Ranger.[4]
