Story[]

In the beginning of time, Zedd is a rebellious Eltarian warlord destined to gain absolute power of his homeplanet, Eltar, as he organizes a warmight protestant group called the "Bandora Clan" to accomplish his goal. In response, the Knights of Eltar, led by Zordon, defend their home, but despite their best effort, they were not strong enough and thus Eltar was destroyed, leaving only a few survivors. The Bandora Clan's lust for destruction wasn't satisfied, however, and they left Eltar in order to invade another planet, Earth. Luckily, Zordon and his four survivors follow them, and the battle continued. Zordon and his knights were determined to eliminate the Bandora Clan and fought alongside the dinosaurs, but the numbers in the Bandora Clan just grew more. When all seemed lost, the Morphin Grid Masters, a group of creators of the universe, arrived on Earth to help Zordon and his squad, granting them with new suits of armor infused with the spirits of the dinosaurs. Now named the Power Rangers, Zordon and his team were given mighty power to protect not only Earth, but the universe itself. To easily win this war, the Rangers use a meteor strike which banishes Lord Zedd and his Bandora Clan from Earth, forcing them to end up enslaving countless galaxies to help satisfy their boredom while Zordon watches over as Earth's spirit (after his comrades have died with the dinosaurs from the meteor's impact)

The story of the Power Rangers begins in the future, where five NASA interns return to Earth from their latest space exploration, only to find the planet annihilated by an apocalyptic, thermonuclear war, World War III. Suddenly, the interns are ambushed, captured and enslaved by the visiting Bandora Clan, and then, they are forced to fight for their lives in Lord Zedd's arena for the popular intergalactic TV game show, "Galaxy Warriors". The interns later escape and eventually crash-land into the present, where the citizens of their hometown of Angel Grove, led by Sheriff Jerome Stone, are protesting against the cruel billionaire industrialist Karl Ziktor, who, unbeknownst to the Angel Grove townsfolk, was really Lord Zedd in disguise. Science shows that Zedd has finally found a way to invade Earth during the present day. As Karl Ziktor tries to overcome the barriers of the present to allow his Bandora armies easy passage from the future, the interns' investigation leads them to the Command Center in the Cape of Good Hope, where Zordon explains the truth about a new generation of his war campaign against the Bandora Clan which will soon take place. As the Bandora Clan returns to reclaim Earth during the present day, the responsibility of facing them falls to the interns of defending the universe from both sides of its dimensional barrier; Zordon soon recruits the five of them so they can become Power Rangers and help him start fighting back against the evil Bandora Clan.

GO, GO, POWER RANGERS!!!

Format[]

Except for the first three episodes and the final three episodes, most episodes follow a simple format known as the "Monster of the Week". The plot of these episodes varied a little. Also. the series deals with social issues faced by children, including divorce, Christianity, the Holocaust, AIDS hysteria, and feelings of loneliness. The main concept of the formula is as follows:

  1. A Monster was created from the Monster-Matic by Finster for the latest episode of Galaxy Warriors. Championed by Rita Repulsa, Lord Zedd's strategic advisor, the Monster ventures to the present to concoct its schemes.
  2. Meanwhile, in Angel Grove, the Rangers are doing something together or independently when the Time Door Sensor goes off, revealing the location of where a dimensional gap has breached the present. The Rangers soon mobilize and move out to investigate the scene of this dimensional breach.
  3. The Rangers then split up to cover more ground, rescuing and/or interviewing victims and/or getting ambushed by Putty Patrollers or the Monster itself along the way.
  4. At the climax of the episode, the Power Rangers meet up with the Monster, morphing into their suits before they battle it. At the end of their first battle with the Monster, the Rangers combine their individual weapons to form the "Power Blaster", which they use to defeat the Monster.
  5. To revive the Monster, unanimous votes from the audience of Galaxy Warriors give it a second chance to defeat the Rangers; the Gigantify Machine is activated to revive the Monster into a giant, but the Rangers call out their Zords join the second battle. Then, the Rangers form the mighty Megazord to fight the Monster, and at the end of the second battle, the Power Sword magically unsheathed from its hand as it performs the finisher, "Mega Strike!", destroying the Monster for good.
  6. As the Rangers return to their regular activities to celebrate their victory, Lord Zedd vows to destroy the Power Rangers despite the ratings of Galaxy Warriors since the Rangers came to be.
  7. The episode ends with one Ranger (mainly Jason, Billy, Trini, Kimberly, Zack, or Tommy) going on a talk-show to share a formal lecture on the principles of refined values in regards over what they have learned throughout each episode. The Ranger ends the segment (and then, the show itself) with the closing catchphrase, "Until next time, take care of yourself and each other."
