Power Rangers Digital Fury is the 36th entry of Power Rangers, serving as an adaptation of the 46th Super Sentai season Avataro Sentai Donbrothers. Digital Fury serves as a sequel to Power Rangers Ultraforce and carries over the 35th season's storylines and many elements, being further expanded upon here.

The series themes are based on virtual reality (VR) and Japanese folklore (specifically the legend of Momotarō). Because of this, many of the show's graphics are styled to resemble traditional Japanese brush strokes, and the series makes more extensive uses of CGI than past productions.

Unlike it's counterpart, Digital Fury takes on a more serious tone as the story progresses, villains' intentions are revealed, and characters are forced into situations that challenges who they are and how they adapt. This kind of tone is somewhat similar to previous seasons such as Power Rangers RPM, but continues to keep a lighthearted feel in order to continue appealing to younger audiences.

Synopsis[]

A virtual enemy threatens to tear apart the very fabric of our universe, but five unlikely heroes, from very different walks of life, come together to become Power Rangers in order to stop them. During the fight, their world is flipped upside down and they must learn to navigate through a new, topsy-turvy reality!

Plot[]

"From protecting Earth to saving the multiverse, the Power Rangers have never faced an enemy they couldn't beat. That all changes now as a new team of Rangers, unlike any you've seen before, morph into their virtual avatars as they fight to save the world! They are Power Rangers Digital Fury!"
―Narrator

Mysteriously arriving in a metal capsule from outer space, an infant boy was discovered by a man named June Tarō whom he names Don Tarō and decided to raise him in Japan, but later moved to California in the United States when the boy became a teenager. 21 years later, mysterious monsters called the Terrorbytes begin appearing when humans overcome with their inner desires are taken over by spirits infused with powers related to the Power Rangers from the past. Don and four other individuals selected by June; Monty Sasaki, a wandering poet, Hanna Watson, a high school comic book writer, Seth Black, a wanted fugitive, and Kaden Irvine, a struggling journalist begin fighting the Terrorbytes and saving their hosts as the Power Rangers. They are later joined by Akira Tarō, who was also found in a capsule as a baby and raised in a rural area, and aspires to become a hero.

Also standing in their way are the Admins, elusive and ruthless individuals from a higher plane who stop the Terrorbytes by sealing their hosts in another dimension, unlike the Rangers who use their powers to rescue them, and the Strytans, strange and powerful creatures who are a threat to both humans and the Admins. The Rangers also count on the secret help of Kai Masters, the owner of the ramen shop Momotarō Ramen who transforms into Ultra Knight Black.
