Mystic is the Pink Robo Ranger, the Pink Ranger of the Robo Force Power Rangers. She is the fourth Robo Force Ranger to be awakened.

In episode 17, she briefly took up the name Molly the Wonderful Witch when she and the other Rangers were transported to the set of "Poppy the Clown".

Character History

Background

When Mystic was a child, she was a neighbor and close friend of Moprhin. When she saw him play with the kids in the neighborhood, she was too shy to join them. However, after picking petals off a wild flower and getting a good result from a local fortune teller, she gained enough courage to approach and play with them.

Arriving on Earth

Mystic was one of the Robonoids who were mysteriously transported to Earth. One month later, she was seen taking part in an interview. She responded to a human reporter in panic denying that the Robonoids deliberately transported themselves and she had been trying to get back to Robotopia but to no avail. Some time later, she and many Earth residents suddenly found mushrooms growing on their heads. She got panicked when the mushrooms started releasing poisonous spores, which suffocated the nearby humans.

Meeting Luke

Nervously making her way across town, Mystic followed a fortune and ended up being bowled over by the Rangers, who had recently slipped due to Icesickle making the town streets a traction nightmare by freezing them. To her surprise, the group included Morphi, and she tearfully greeted him as the four made their way to the shop, where they exchanged introductions. Although she refused to join the team, Mystic attempted to find Icesickle using her fortune-telling skills, though to Wild's growing frustrations, the predictions were flops every single time, and after an outburst Mystic began doubting herself (Like Luke does) until the group was pointed towards a wharf. Eventually deciding to take a stand, Mystic asked to join the team and became the Pink Robo Ranger for the first time. With her help, Icesickle was decimated, and her new Mystic Dragon form helps seal the deal during the Megazord fight. Mystic moved in with the other Rangers afterwards, using her fortune-telling skills to lead the others towards the last Robo Ranger.

Personality

Mystic is reserved and shy. She loves everything to do with magic and the occult, and can become a true otaku about it when she is in the moment and expresses herself through her fortune-telling, even if it's not correct most of the time. While very nervous, she relies on her fortune telling to give her the push she needs. However, she is very clumsy, as shown when she almost shot herself in the face with her Robo Ranger Morpher and making her messes worse through trying to clean them up. Despite this trait, she is very good at rummaging through trash to find objects of interest.

While known for being a shrinking violet, she will angrily snap at people when pushed to her limit and does not tolerate if someone degrades fortune telling within an earshot and will fervently scold the perpetrator. She will also not tolerate her friends being insulted right in front of her and will snap when pushed to her physical extremes (i.e. not sleeping for too long). Mystic has a quirky sense of humor, as shown when she randomly performs action comedy through random objects and roleplay. She has a verbal tic of "magical" she strings to the end of her sentences, usually in her bouts of nervousness. and can also be heard chanting this when casting her spells.

Pink Robo Ranger

Mystic uses the Robo Ranger Morpher with the "Pink Robo Ranger" Ranger Gear (13) to morph into the Pink Robo Ranger. By switching her Ranger Gear to its "Flip Side", Mystic grows larger thus allowing her to fight the Robo-Beasts. Whilst she's enlarged, Mystic can then transform into her zord form of the Mystic Dragon Zord.

While all of the core Robo Rangers excel at gunmanship, Mystic focuses on strategic combat, using the Mystic Dragon Tail to perform weaponized elaborate magic tricks. The weapon also serves to bludgeon opponents or zap them with pink lightning bolts, though in addition to this, it can manifest solid illusions (such as a clone of herself) that can interact effectively with the enemy.

Behind the Scenes

Mystic is voiced by Erika Fong who is perhaps best known for playing the role of Mia Watanabe (Pink Samurai Ranger XVIII) in Power Rangers Samurai and Super Samurai. In the Zenkaiger stock footage, her suit actor is Ayumi Shimozono (下園愛弓 Shimozono Ayumi)
