"Mighty Morphin Power... Red Robo Ranger!" - Roll Call

Morphin is the Red Robo Ranger, the Red Ranger of the Robo Force Power Rangers. He is one of the first two Robo Force Rangers to be awakened, Morphin himself acting second-in-command to Luke Davis (White Robo Ranger) until Rex Hunter (Gold Robo Ranger) took the role of second-in-command when he joined the team.

In episode 17, he briefly took up the name Cooliosaurus when he and the other Rangers were transported to the set of "Poppy the Clown".

Character History

Arriving on Earth

Morphin was one of the Robonoids who were mysteriously transported to Earth one month before the start of the series. As the Robonoids quickly integrated with humans, he also tried his best to get in with them but when the Robonoid Empire launched an invasion on Earth and terrorized its inhabitants, Morphin engaged them and saved a kid. Witnessing his kindness, Luke Davis gave him a Robo Ranger Morpher, which allowed him to transform into the Red Robo Ranger. After the first battle, Morphin came to take shelter at the shop belonging to Luke's grandmother.

Personality

Morphin thinks of himself as calm and reserved, but in reality he is an annoyingly stubborn Robonoid. He loves parties and being the center of attention. He easily makes friends, especially Luke. Despite this, he took a bit longer to get along with Wild, as the two of them constantly bickered during their first meeting. Due to his party-loving nature, he often dances to the Robo Ranger Morpher's music.

Morphin often serves as Luke's mentor about the Robonoid Empire, having lived under it's oppressive ways for several years. He is, however, rather slack, primarily due to his laid-back nature. Morphin is also one for hanging around children, and will play with them when allowed the chance. This extends protecting a human child from an attacking Plugman.

Red Robo Ranger

Morphin uses the Robo Ranger Morpher with the "Red Robo Ranger" Ranger Gear (1) to morph into the Red Robo Ranger. By switching his Ranger Gear to its "Flip Side", Morphin grows larger thus allowing him to fight the Robo-Beasts. Whilst's he enlarged, Morphin can then transform into his zord form of the Mighty T-Rex Zord.

Whilst all the Robo Force Rangers excel at gunmanship, Morphin uses a fighting style emphasizing combat prowess, often charging into battle and using the Mighty Sword to slash and hack apart the enemy while the Morphin Shield is used to either defend against attackers or slam into the opponent.

Behind the Scenes

Morphin is voiced by Jason Smith who is perhaps best known for playing the role of Casey Rhodes (Jungle Fury Red) in Power Rangers Jungle Fury. In the Zenkaiger stock footage, his suit actor is Yasuhiro Takeuchi (竹内康博 Takeuchi Yasuhiro).
