Money Lending and Other Sins is the twentieth episode of Power Rangers Universe. This episode is the first in a two-episode arc revolving around Wild Bill's escalated feud with the O'Neil Brothers, and reveals more about their conflict prior to the series. It also features the return of Horsie since "Living the Party, Pegasus Style" and the debut of Ranger Series Blue's Horsie Armor.
Synopsis[]
Megan helps Wild Bill take his mind off the obsession with O'Neil Brothers by adapt more into being around humans and their surroundings. When the OāNeil Brothers commit a bank heist on a planet and traps the two Rangers in, they must find a solution to save the hostages. As the stakes get higher, Bill looks back on his past with the brothers.
Plot[]
On the Destiny, Arthur, Wild Bill and Megan head to the promenade for lunch, where Ryan is reading the monthly Star Battleforce newsletter. Megan has brought some coffee for the four, as Arthur, who seems to be very interested in what the Prometheus entails, wonders how it could be useful in their future battles, especially on the basis that it may have a megazord mode. As they browse, Bill comes across an article about a new case issued by Star Battleforce regarding many fraudulent acts committed by the OāNeil Brothers, as part of their alignment with His Magnificence. As they check it out, the alarms sound as the bridge detects an incoming Arkeyan onslaught directed towards the Destiny, with Colonel Xiao on the bridge ordering Joi to quickly spin the Ranger Lottery - which selects Arthur, Wild Bill, Megan, Florian and Colonel Xiao himself; Colonel Xiao subsequently orders the four onto the bridge, as Florian, who is doing some window cleaning with Bronzee, to comically rush down unprepared. The five immediately deploy from their Uni-Voyagers to take down the incoming Arkeyan fleet, as Toxstatin, who assumes they finally must be toying around with the Keel Sector Key. The five deployed rangers engage in a heated dogfight with several Arkeyan A-Gliders, as Elwood O'Neil, desperate to join in the fun, rallies his brothers to join in the dogfight. During the dogfight, Wild Bill notices the O'Neils piloting an Arkeyan spacecraft, and goes in pursuit of them. Megan, who has been concerned herself about Bill's obsession with the O'Neils, follows him.
As the pursuit intensifies, Elwood comes up with some different tactics, to focus on raising funds for their "big deal", so they decide to leave the dogfight, and set a course for Planet Berwick. As Megan and Bill pursue them, their voyagers run out of fuel, and they crash-land near the valley, as the O'Neils soar in their spacecraft somewhere far on the planet. Unmorphed, the two emerge from the voyagers, and attempt to get a signal from the others. Megan first contacts Arthur, who has been able to avert the Arkeyan onslaught, about Bill's latest predicament; Arthur guesses that this must be his latest attempt to attack the O'Neils, and offers to join them there, but Megan advises them not to, due to the fact that Planet Berwick is about 56.9 miles away from the Destiny, and is likely to consume a lot of fuel on his voyager to even get there. After coming off the communicator, Megan is fuming. She vents at Bill that her day off was going so well until the Arkeyans mounted an attack on the Destiny, and Wild Bill decided on impulse to pursue the O'Neils despite the fact that it is not their priority right now, on the basis that they need the Keel Sector Key to be able to rechristen the Prometheus. Wild Bill retorts by claiming that the O'Neils have been ripping him off since they laid waste to his home, and have racist opinions regarding Lupaxians like him, thus making taking them down one of his main priorities as a member of Star Battleforce. With that, Megan, seeing no option to push Bill away from his personal feuds, decides to take him to the nearby town in the planet to get him to interact more properly with his surroundings, as Arthur and the others have noticed him to be the "human equivalent of an unstable dog, complete with an irrational Jamacian accent only 70% of people can understand". To this end, she gives him a collar of shame.
As they explore town, Megan tries to show Bill how to properly communicate with humanoids. When they get some snacks, Megan contacts Russell about the condition of their Voyagers; having unsuccessfully negotiated replacement parts for Moose with Star Battleforce HQ over a video call, Russell is overworked, and when Megan comes through, he says that he should be able to remotely repair them, but the process could last hours. Megan is at a loss when hearing this, and begins to figure out what she and Bill can do. As they begin to explore town, it is revealed that Octiqua has been dispatched to where the two rangers are, as she is revealed to be assisting the O'Neils in their funding exercise. Back on the Destiny, things have settled down again; Russell is multi-tasking between negotiating parts for Moose and monitoring the O'Neil's activity, as he is showing Arthur, Joi and Ryan. Suddenly, they get a transmission from Octiqua, who requests them to participate in an arms deal with the O'Neils, whom she alleges are in a transition period of breaking away from the Arkeyans, and that two of their own are on the planet where the deal is expected to take place. Ryan thinks this could very well be a trap, as Arthur is getting even more baffled, especially since they already destroyed Octiqua twice, and suggests they get to the bottom of the reason Octiqua is repeatedly being resurrected. After some discussion, Colonel Xiao concludes that the team should avoid the Octiqua's request at all cost, as it could spell severe implications for Star Battleforce's military personnel.
After Megan teaches Bill how to communicate properly with humans, who struggle slightly to understand Bill's Jamaican accent, she decides to buy Wild Bill some more food as a treat, but realises that she hasn't brought any Galacticoins - the currency of the Interstellar Alliance. In a change of plans, the two head over to Berwick's largest Galactic Standard branch to get some money out, unaware that they are being secretly watched by the O'Neils. Megan is at the ATM with Bill getting some money out when suddenly, a crash is heard; chaos erupts when all nine O'Neil Brothers break into the building, with Otis, Javier, Dale and Dalton being sent to demolish the vault where the cash is stored, and the rest being left to control the crowd, as Bill attempts to attack them, but Megan drags him into a corner in order to keep themselves concealed. Megan wants Bill to fill her in on what started the feud between the Lupaxians and the Moonbillies that provoked the O'Neils to play a part in the destruction of the Lupaxian race. Bill explains that there had been some seemingly racist tensions between the Lupaxians and the Moonbillies - who also originated from the Lupus Sector, which drove them to become the dominant race in the Sector, and Bill himself being the prime target of such racist abuse. This is what led the Moonbilly race, particuarly the O'Neils, to pledge their loyalty to His Magnficence, and ultimately led to the wipeout of nearly every Lupaxian in the sector; Megan understands, but Colonel Xiao may think he may be distracting himself from the group's other priorities. He then sees Elwood controlling the crowd, and demanding on the other brothers' status in gaining the money, seizing an advantage, against Megan's wishes.
A defiant Bill removes his collar of shame and boldly confronts Elwood and Wilton, and after Elwood claims he slaughtered the Caninian race just for business, this leads to a hectic fist-fight between the two, and the bank descends further into chaos. Amid the carnage, Otis, Javier, Dale and Dalton successfully steal the money, and Ernie and Earl cut open the door, and the streets descend into madness. Local police arrive at the bank and the O'Neils shoot their way out, and chaos ensues across town. After Megan gets the hostages to safety, Bill continues to brawl with Elwood, until he and the brothers have Wild Bill and Megan surrounded by some more Moonbillies. After an incensed Bill declares his everlasting hatred for Moonbillies, he and Megan morph, and jointly attack the O'Neils. Back on the Destiny, Arthur is watching the Interstellar Alliance News Channel, and is in awe when he sees a robbery occurring on Live TV, and the remaining rangers are left puzzled as to what's going on, with Ryan suspicious this may have to do with what Wild Bill and Megan are up to. As Megan and Bill make quick work of the O'Neils, a Sector Key suddenly lands on Bill's Uni-Controller and activates; unbeknownst to both Megan and Bill, Horsie had apparently been taken with them, and the Horsie Armor forms on Bill; as Megan notes it's been a while since he last showed up. With the Horsie Armor, As Toxstatin comes to assess the carnage with Octiqua, Wild Bill turns his attention to Elwood, who is no match for Horsie's dance moves. Using his U.W.S. weapon, Bill finishes off Elwood, but Elwood, Otis, Javier, Dale, Ernie, and Wilton hop into their A-Drone, as the other brothers flee with their earnings.
On the Destiny, after further news reports that two Star Battleforce officials are caught in the crossfire, Arthur wants to go and save them, and Ryan comes with him, but Colonel Xiao stops them, stating that following the dogfight from earlier, their voyagers used a lot of power to fend off the Arkeyan assault, so Colonel Xiao steps in and morphs, departing in Drago Voyager 10 onto the scene of the heist. Back on Berwick, Megan contacts Russell to inquire him on the condition of the voyagers; Russell says that remote repairs are 90% complete, but insists they should be in good condition to launch. With that, they cautiously summon their voyagers, but the two of them struggle against the strength of the O-Neils in their A-Drone. As this happens, a major delivery of supplies arrives on the Destiny for Russell in the hopes of repairing Moose. As Megan and Bill (with Horsie) continue to struggle in their individual voyagers against the A-Drone, Colonel Xiao arrives on Berwick just in time. After giving an opening with his Uni-Voyager, Colonel Xiao forms the Drago Pride Megazord with Megan and Bill (with Horsie). As this occurs, the remaining O'Neil Brothers regroup with Octiqua, who assesses the cash to see if it's legitimate. Back on Berwick, the Drago Pride Megazord gets the upper hand on the O'Neil's A-Drone, after which Wild Bill swaps out the Lupus Sector Key for the Horsie Sector Key, allowing it to perform a Universal Horsie Charge, which destroys the A-Drone for good.
In the aftermath, Megan and Wild Bill continue their day trip, as Horsie causes a few hiccups along the way - and Bill excels at proper interaction towards humans. Back on Xibalba, Elwood confronts His Magnificence over an alleged breach of contract, and misusing the weapons they had been providing the Arkeyan leader with. To this end, His Magnificence terminates all diplomatic terms with the O'Neil Brothers, and are ordered to leave the temple; the brothers take their money from the score with them, as Octiqua, unbeknownst to Arkeyan authorities, follows them from behind. Back on the Destiny's bridge, Arthur is asking Bill and Megan about their trip; Bill, still with Horsie's armor, tells him and some of the others about the bank heist, and how it drove him to exact some more action against the O'Neils. Just then, Horsie begins to take control again, and comic shenanigans ensue as Horsie carries Bill towards the ceiling of the bridge and falls, only to land on top of Florian. Elsewhere, the O'Neils and Octiqua are on course to the Destiny, where the O'Neils will use their stolen money to place a bid on a major weapons contract in an auction taking place on board the station.
