Ricky Marcus Beverly is Rail Rider 1 Red, the Red Ranger and leader of the Rail Riders Rangers and the main protagonist of Power Rangers Rail Riders.

Character History[]

First appeared in a town square sleeping on a bench and was attacked by Crows.

Personality[]

The kind of guy who can walk into any room and light it up with his smile. A laid back, gentle man with no interest in violence. Marcus has this unnatural need to attempt to pacify any fight before escalating to violence, by ironically enough using his size and might to force the situation. He has a playground perception as to what harm and violence are.

Marcus quickly befriends Tomas, being the only person who knows (or cares) about his backstory. After being promised to have a bathroom built in their train (implying there was none before) he locked them in as life long friends.

In "Roasted Red" he also gains new allies in the form of Greta and General Shwartz. Shwartz and Marcus promise each other to protect Greta at all costs after she is captured by Madame Noir. This was the moment it is shown that Marcus will go to any lengths for anyone he considers a friend.

Rail Rider 1 Red[]

Rail Rider 1 Red is the Red Ranger's default form, accessed by inserting the Red Car into his Morpher. In this form, the Red Ranger uses the track-themed Rail Slasher saber as his weapon.

Marcus is portrayed by Armand Garnett. As Rail Rider 1 Red, his suit actor is Yoshifumi Oshikawa (押川善文 Oshikawa Yoshifumi).

Marcus' first name is Ricky, and only started going by Marcus because Sanzoku couldn't pronounce "Ricky the Red Rail Rider Ranger".
The Conductor was going to give him the role of the Blue Ranger however he doesn't like blue.
- Instead he got red because his favorite color is red.
His actor was a trained MMA fighter before joining the cast of Rail Riders.
Also, him and Barbaro Tran Suarez (Tomas) are real life best friends, just like their characters. Barbaro also helped Armand land the role.
Even though his character doesn't like Blue, Garnett's favorite color is blue. As a child he grew up wanting to be the Blue Ranger.
- Besides, his favorite season is Turbo and his favorite character is Justin Stewart.
Armand technically never auditioned for his role. In an interview, director Justin Webber stated "I only saw a couple prior things he was in, and he seemed like a decent actor. But what got me was his natural personality and smile. Armand was exactly the person I wanted this character to be, just make him dumber. Armand is too smart to be Marcus in real life."
