Mai Sugata (菅田麻衣 Sugeta Mai?) (or typically just Mai) is Player Red of the Arcade Sentai Shouburanger. Acting as the appointed head of the Matrix Agency and a worker within the local arcade, she leads the Shouburangers into combat.
Given the gaming tropes of the Shouburangers, Player Red represents the Warrior class archetype of Role-Playing and Adventure games.

Calling Mai a "hothead" is quite the understatement. Filled with energy and always ready to do, Mai will do all in her power to get the job done. Due to her outgoing nature, she has a tendency to rush into things with little thought; lost in her own ideas without registering those around her. However, she possesses a serious side that will manifest in times of great need. Is well-meaning, if rather fierce.
