Lure is the twenty-sixth episode of Power Rangers Universe.
Synopsis[]
Tensions mount between Agent 263, Colonel Xiao and a small group of Star Battleforce's rangers as he leads a mission to Pangar, where unsanctioned medical goods are being sold by Arkeyan donors. Megan and Moose, who are growing increasingly dissatisfied with 263's management style, defy 263 and discover that the medicine is being fabricated from what appears to be a Roswell Queen - capable of giving birth to Roswells.
Plot[]
One morning, Arthur arrives on the Destiny's bridge, and as expected, he is immediately torn into by Agent 263, who angrily lambasts him for attempting to get them both killed - a claim which Arthur denies, and scolds him for his failure to assassinate Clarence Little and Tom Goldberg. Arthur retorts at 263 by claiming that he and the others had no information about them, and a Commandant was distracting them. As the two men argue, Bill, Moose, Megan and Dimitri arrive on the bridge as Moose tells tall tales to them about his recent mission with Bronzee to Moorlands. Moments after 263 chides Arthur as being unfit to serve as a Star Battleforce ranger, Megan has had enough, and steps in, directly telling 263 that she has already had enough of him questioning Arthur's abilities. As there is some further furor among ranks, Colonel Xiao stands up and noticing Ryan and Joi are absent, asks Russell for their status. Russell has his headphones on, so Megan nudges him, which catches his attention. Russell says he received word that Ryan and Joi were sent on a special assignment by 263, and even 263 won't disclose any details to the group. 263 has another task for the rangers - a mission to planet Pangar, as he suspects unsanctioned Medical Goods are being exported there, as part of some "press tour" involving the senators, and even Octiqua is running as a senator, even though the group believes she was destroyed.
Just as Colonel Xiao begins to select rangers for deployment, 263 snatches the Ranger Lottery from Colonel Xiao and begins the selecting process himself, much to everyone's dismay. With that, Moose, Dimitri, 263, Megan, and Colonel Xiao are chosen - and much to everyone's - particularly Arthur's shock, he isn't chosen for deployment, and questions 263 why it wasn't the case for him this time. 263 insists that it's because he views Arthur as only just a cadet, and unfit for combat. Dimitri voices criticism of this, insisting that Arthur is the strongest fighter in the group, and is a figure for unity, and his friends even agree. Moments after those chosen set off, Florian and Bronzee arrive on the bridge late, and claim they were unaware a mission was about to take place. Meanwhile in Xibalba, Gazla reports to His Magnificence that a group of rangers are on course to Pangar, and suspects them of preparing to interfere with his publicity tour. His Magnificence informs him that he has found another candidate to run alongside Octiqua for the role of third senator, and tasks Gazla with intervening in the medical goods exchange taking place there. The group arrives the planet Pangar, where several people stand in front of them to greet them, although they are suspicious when 263 makes his presence known - as the people have been wary of the Galactic Affairs Bureau. They talk about the visitors who will soon arrive (the leader expects an excellent and savvy negotiator) that may have more advanced technology than theirs.
As this happens, Giwi McNewzie, an elite Commandant presiding over Pangar is given responsibilities over handling Gazla's press tour on the planet. The group is led into the city, where 263 demands to negotiate with the representatives of Pangar about diplomatic relations between Star Battleforce and the Galactic Affairs Bureau with the Pangarans. The Pangarans also show them their greatest invention, Tretonin, a drug which gives them perfect health. Megan, Moose and Dimitri are very critical of 263's arrogant attitude, with Moose even figuring out that Megan wants to stage a mutiny against him; Megan contemplates that she probably should, since 263's attempts to seize authority are becoming almost untenable at this point. Dimitri insists that 263 might be more important than they think, so they should just leave it for now, but Megan seems to think that the bureau will sieze control of the rangers' agenda from Star Battleforce, so they have to stage a coup before the situation worsens. At this point, Dimitri senses a commandant in the area and plans to seek it out, while 263 forces Colonel Xiao to help him continue his negotiations about the bureau and the Tretonin; however, when they give the Pangarans ten addresses to peaceful worlds, the Pangarans instead want the addresses to visit worlds which are under Arkeyan control. Megan and Moose are left to fend for themselves, and Megan is serious about mutinying against 263, and Moose reckons Colonel Xiao is a better commander than 263. They gain access to an underground chamber within the planet's senate from Zenna, a scientist where they find out more about the Arkeyan footsoldier breed of Roswells, who once ruled the planet. Zenna also wants to tell them something about the Tretonin, but when Megan later confronts her she doesn't want to talk, as they are doing this for a reason, and demands the location of the Roswell breeding vessels.
Because of this, and despite Moose's best efforts to calm her down, Megan sneaks into her office and searches through some material, where she finds a key of materials. Moose suggests detaining the Roswell breeding vessels and get them shipped to the Destiny for safekeeping before they can be sold off, and Megan thinks that's actually a good idea, seeing as it will send 263 crazy, unbeknownst to them, Gazla is with Giwi, breifing the latter on the fabricated medical goods, and how the empire from the illegal medical trade, and suspects two rangers are attempting to sanction them. On board the Destiny, Arthur and the remaining rangers are on the promenade, where Arthur is outspoken in his criticism of 263, especially when he forbade him from deployment. Florian and Bronzee think that the new ranger is pretty cool in terms of power level, as Wild Bill insists that Arthur wants to plot a mutiny against 263. Arthur thinks that it may be the right thing to do after all, especially since Megan had been contemplating it. Back on Pangar, Colonel Xiao and 263's negotiations with the Pangarans end in failure when one council member is suspicious about the rangers secretly plotting to seize their healthcare system and Tretonin supply in exchange for their allegiance. Although Colonel Xiao attempts to clarify to the council that all of this was a miscommunication, 263 is left fuming, and realises that there is a growing mutiny against him. In the underground lab, Megan and Moose observe one of the breeding vessels, and Megan recognises it as a Roswell Queen, which is capable of giving birth to new Roswells, but has very little info on its biology. Dimitri catches up to them at this point, and explains that he has tailed the commandant, who is after the queens in the facility, and suggests they should flee before they are detected. Before they can discuss it, Giwi attacks them, and boasts about Gazla's growing prominence, and not even the rangers will even match his true power.
In response, Dimitri, Megan and Moose morph and attack Giwi, as Gazla proves a vital challenge to them as well. After Giwi binds all three with leaves, Gazla fires a powerful blast at them, thus giving them a very hard time. As the chaos ensues, an incensed 263, who suspects Megan of staging a coup, communicates with her over the radio and suspects her of convincing the party to sanction the medical goods for money. Megan, distracted, denies it as Giwi attacks, and Gazla tends to the Roswell queen, which produces an infant Roswell. Unable to concentrate, she delivers a Chameleon Impact Lash which heavily injures Giwi, who manages to escape, seconds before Dimitri gets them to flee. Later, outside the senate, an incensed 263 slams Megan and scolds her for attempting to form a coup against him. Moose offers to explain, and assures 263 that Arthur, along with a few others, had been harshly critical of his decisions since he showed up, since Arthur's strategies vastly compare differently to 263's, which is causing friction. After 263 retorts with more severe threats, Colonel Xiao, realising 263's true intentions chides 263 for attempting to seize control of his program, stating that he is being too self-centred in his role, as Megan openly claims that she suspects that the Galactic Affairs Bureau is home to a "frat-boy" lifestyle. After Colonel Xiao gives 263 a talking-to, he reluctantly allows the commanding officer to take over negotiations; The Pangarans later tell them that they found the queen 60 years ago and because of their research they finally developed the Tretonin. However, they have no method to reverse the effects of the Tretonin. As this occurs, the health goods exchange is underway, and Giwi invites civilians to give away money in exchange for what he claims to be sanctioned medical goods, and demands them to give a donation to the Arkeyan Empire.
After some semi-successful negotiations, 263 reveals to Colonel Xiao his proposals for joint missions with Star Battleforce, as they watch over Giwi's goods exchange. In the underground chamber, Megan, Dimitri and Moose do more research, where they find out that Gazla once lived on the planet. It also turns out that the queen is in fact Egeria, the mother of all Roswells, who was sought by His Magnificence to serve his bidding and imprisoned here. They are then forced to assess their research and then inform Russell, who is back on the Destiny about it. As they brief him, Russell reveals that one of Gazla's campaign rallies is underway, and highly suggests they should ambush it, and urges them to keep mutinying practices against 263 to a minimum, since he believes that he could be more help than he is. At the goods exchange, 263 and Colonel Xiao notice Giwi in the crowd, and Colonel Xiao notices that Octiqua's in the crowd too, and 263 insists that she's running to be the third senator, and she's actually putting up an aggressive campaign to earn the support she needs. Soon, they are noticed by Giwi, Gazla and Octiqua, and Star Battleforce officers, who had too been surveying the area, open fire on the Arkeyan attackers, as Megan, Moose and Dimitri arrive just in time, as 263 notices a change of heart in the other three rangers. After some clarifications from Megan and to some extent, Moose, 263 leads the group in a morph and roll call, and the five of them charge towards the three Arkeyan aggressors. Megan and Moose take on Giwi, while Dimitri, 263 and Colonel Xiao take on Octiqua, all as Gazla does this as he films a promotional video for his candidacy. As Gazla prepares to transfer Egeria to a nearby super-collider as several A-Drones descend onto Pangar's soil, The five rangers are able to finish off both Giwi and Octiqua with an All-Star Sector Blast, although Octiqua manages to escape unscathed.
Amid the chaos, an executive order is then signed by His Magnificence, which causes Giwi to enlarge. At the same time, the team notices that the queen is being consumed by a super-collider, so Colonel Xiao sends Dimitri to disable it using his Voyager, while Colonel Xiao forms the Drago Pride Megazord with Megan and Moose, while 263 forms the Phoenix Steel Megazord. The two megazords deal with both the A-Drone and Giwi, although Giwi makes things difficult by binding the megazords with his leaves; somehow, the intense heat coming from the Phoenix Steel Megazord allows 263 to break free from the vines, much to Giwi's shock. As all of this happens, Dimitri, in his Voyager, is able to disable the super-collider, and Egeria is detained. Amid the chaos, 263 manages to finish off the A-Drone, and the two megazords combine their respective finishing attacks to finish off Giwi for good. In the aftermath, as Gazla delivers the Roswell incubators they were able to sanction amid more favour turned towards Octiqua in the senator's position, the Pangarans have invited some of the other rangers to visit, so they can be able to visit their work. As 263 is given mild approval from Colonel Xiao, Arthur, Megan, Bill and Moose are privately discussing whether or not they should further mutinise against 263 and the bureau. Arthur thinks that this is a set-up, and agrees with Megan's theory on a "frat-boy" lifestyle the bureau has. Amid such discussions, Russell reports that Ryan and Joi are still on Earth looking, and so far they haven't found any of the outposts 263 had requested from them yet, prompting the others to fear how 263 would react, especially since Arthur was already penalised for failing to assassinate the two moles. As all of this happens, Colonel Xiao is thanked for his services by the senator, who notes that S.B.F. made a smart move by detaining the queen, and hopes this could be the calling card for the Pangaran race, with hope that there will be further negotiations.
