Logan Keen (also known by his birth name Jirab) is a Shenian from the planet Orat who was sent to Earth as an infant after the Braks invaded & ransacked his village. In the present day, when the same alien army returns & targets Earth, Logan is given the power to become the Red Epic Ranger, the Red Ranger & leader of the Epic Rangers.

To atone for the sins of the Shenian Royal Family, Logan willingly became host to a Penguin Crul, whom he quickly took control of as part of a plan to permanently drive all of the Cruls back into their homeworld.

Character History

Origin

Jirab was born to the chief of a village of the Shenians, a peaceful humanoid race native to the planet Orat.

When Jirab was still an infant, his village was attacked one day by the Shenians' barbaric neighbors, the Braks. In an effort to save their child, Jirab's parents placed him in a peach-shaped vessel & gave him four different colored gears, saying that they would help him in the future, before sending him off into outer space.

After several days, Jirab's vessel ended up on Earth & crash-landed in a river. Upon floating to shore, Jirab was soon found by Royce & Luanna Keen, a married couple who were unable to have children, who decided to adopt him & raise him as their son, naming him Logan.

Childhood

In his childhood, Logan was excellent at everything & always eager to help people do things correctly. But this goodwill became so intrusive that the neighbors organized a rally against him, although he did not realize that he was hated until everyone in the neighborhood left. During his birthdays, he would often celebrate alone with his foster parents as none of the neighbors wanted to come to his party when invited. A happier moment was when he would make fritters for his adoptive father, Royce, to take with him for his lunch before he headed off to work. Another sad moment in his childhood was during one summer when his pet beetle Asterix flew out of a window & never returned, upsetting Logan since he had no real friends & treasured Asterix as the closest thing to one.

Logan Keen was summoned by the Power Rangers Epic Gear that was used by Mecha Force White. Riding in on his Falcon CycleZord, he would fight alongside Rex against Tabletop & Rocketar & later allow the Mecha Force Rangers to use his Falcon CycleZord to combine with the Tyranno MechaZord to become the Epic Dino Megazord. After Tabletron's defeat, he left back to his dimension.

Logan would later appear again at the end of the last episode of Mecha Force, where he accidentally ran into David while making a delivery. After apologizing & introducing each other, David asked Logan if they'd met before, to which Logan replied he didn't think so.

Epic

Logan is a student at Eastside High School. Because of his intrusive behavior, most of the kids at school shun him, with his only friend being David Oliver, who seems to be the only person who truly understands Logan. He also works as a delivery man at Arctic Delivery Service, the employees of which tend to exploit his bluntness when gambling for portions in the company lunch breaks.

Due to his father being missing & his mother being too busy with work, Logan spends most of his time at home alone. He also fights against the Braks as the Red Epic Ranger.

Logan is a young man who is incapable of lying & capable of living on his own. He can also do any kind of work, like cleaning, cooking, etc. As his regular self, he is cheery & generally well-mannered, though his tendency to be brutally honest often leaves him in situations where the favor is usually against him or annoys people to the point that they hate being around him.

Unhelpful to those who meet him, Logan's form of giving advice is simply stating out what someone does wrong before performing the corresponding act in what he deems to be the right way, typically worsening any relationships he has with other people. Additionally, his comments are usually made without consideration of someone's feelings, typically leading to him angering others unintentionally.

His honesty extends to how he views the world, seeing lying as wrong & even if the intent is for good reasons, the liar is masking a false truth & true words come directly from the heart. Unlike his superhero persona, Logan hates fighting to the point he will never directly hit a person even if provoked.

Despite his friendly disposition, Logan’s childhood has affected him negatively as he doesn’t know what true happiness is. His compulsory need to help others & make them happy is, in his own words, a way to understand the emotion itself since he is lonely. He also seemed to dislike his birthday, as it serves as a constant reminder of his loneliness.

He also does not fully understand what friends are, since he had very few his whole life & his blunt honesty prevented him from having any, yet the only friend he has is David, who seems to tolerate his flaws. He also has no romantic life, as he publicly admitted he doesn’t have a girlfriend. His view of his relationship with his team is as companions in battle & nothing else, which rubs some of them the wrong way.

Logan is shown to be very diligent at his job & takes great pride in being a delivery man, as it allows him to help people & bring them joy. He is content in his work & doesn’t want to change jobs unless temporary circumstances force him to, even stating that he sees no difference in a job like his to professional jobs that pay better in terms of importance.

As the Red Epic Ranger, however, he undergoes a drastic personality change. Compared to his civilian identity, the Red Epic Ranger is far more boisterous & jolly, often seeing every battle as a type of special event under an air of confidence. However, his heroic nature is retained, & he strongly opposes the Braks brainwashing & kidnapping any Pseudo-Brak the group encounters.

The Red Epic Ranger can also be a bit unpredictable & eccentric, as he wildly attacks his team as a test of their combat skills & training, especially if he feels that they are holding him back in battle.

  • Rico Villalobos/Black Epic Ranger: He initially thought Rico was a bad person due to eating food that wasn't his but after learning that Rico was going to celebrate his birthday alone, it took him back to when he was a child in the same situation. So he sang the Happy Birthday song & this action brought Rico to tears. Later on, they seem to be in good terms. Rico initially didn't like Logan because he was telling him what to do. As for their relationship as their superhero personas, Logan just sees the Black Epic Ranger as a companion & nothing more. Meanwhile, the Black Epic Ranger doesn't seem to like Logan.

Logan sees Val as nothing more than a companion, but even when he let his desires take him over, Logan is more than willing to free him & help. As for Tsuyoshi, he looks up to Taro as a sort of inspiration for strength.

• Hyper-Competence: As claimed by both himself & his parents, Logan Keen is excellent at everything.
  • Tennis Mastery: Logan is shown to be a professional tennis player in the first episode.
  • Perfect Falafel Making: His onigiri is described by Chef Rayyan to be something made from Paradise, & managed to make him moved to near tears by its flavor & texture.
  • Chess Mastery: Although he had only played chess once in his childhood, Logan managed to defeat the chess club president easily at school.
• Super Strength & Accuracy: While unmorphed, Logan was able to flick peanuts with his finger at someone's face right in the cheek & with enough force to knock them out cold. He is also capable of completely destroying an entire stack of wooden chairs with a single karate chop.
• Enhanced Speed & Reflexes: Logan is shown to be able to clean a room in mere minutes, almost as if he is flying across it. He is also capable of moving game pieces at blistering speed to win board games like chess in just a matter of minutes.

Weaknesses

• Recurring Power Loss: In exchange for his superpowers, Logan suffers a period of power loss once every few years. This can be cured by eating 300 Turkish delights made with a precise recipe & method. During this power loss, Logan can become sick & is too weak to even fight, rendering finishers like his finishing slash attack completely useless.
• Compulsive Truth-telling: Logan has never lied in his life. Even attempting to tell a harmless white lie momentarily caused his heart to stop beating.
• Epic Champion Megazord: In the brief moments after the Epic Champion Megazord finishes a battle, Logan becomes weaker & vulnerable to attack.

• Asterix: Because of the past attachment to his pet beetle Asterix, who had escaped, Logan could easily be fooled into believing that Asterix was returning & totally dropping his guard. This weakness would falter with a talk with his teammates.

Red Epic Ranger

In his standard form, the Red Epic Ranger is an expert swordsman, using his sword with precision accuracy in addition to decent gunmanship with his blaster/morpher. The Red Epic Ranger can also trap enemies in a peach-shaped energy bubble, which he creates by focusing power into the emblem on his helmet's forehead.

• Epic Slash Attack: A basic strong sword attack. After spinning the gear of his sword once & pressing the trigger, the Red Epic Ranger slashes his energy charged sword downward at an angle.
• TBA: After spinning the gear of his sword four times, the Red Epic Ranger proceeds to press the trigger of the sword & slash his opponent in a spectrum of colors.
• TBA: A super attack where the Epic Rangers team raises a Torii construct with the Red Epic Ranger on top of it, with the surrounding area turning dark. The four Rangers blast the target, while the Red Epic Ranger leaps off the Torii after activating his sword by spinning its gear five times. He presses the trigger & unleashes a flurry of rainbow colored slashes around the opponent, then rushes the enemy & slashes through them for the final blow.
• Legendary Ranger Slash: When the Red Epic Ranger scans his sword on the top of his Morpher, he can do an attack of any Red Power Ranger.
  • Dino Fury Slash: When he scans his sword on his Morpher with a Dino Fury gear inserted, he can do a copy of the Dino Fury Red Ranger’s T-Rex Fury Strike.

By using the Red Epic Zord Gear, the Red Epic Ranger's soul separates from his body & transforms into the 15cm Red Epic Zord in a manner similar to an online game's player switching to their alternate account. Once engaged, the Red Epic Zord can change between a humanoid form resembling the Red Epic Ranger for active combat or an armored peach form in defensive situations. The Red Epic Zord is also capable of bouncing off of digital constructs & making use of portals & hidden doorways in combat, assisted by its own sword.

Although the Red Epic Zord is effective in combat, its usage has some side effects of leaving the Red Epic Ranger's real body limp & vulnerable to attack, often forcing his teammates to carry it around while keeping it from coming to harm.

The Red Epic Zord can also be used when the Red Epic Ranger is unmorphed, though that usually means that his real body tends to be left limp without his soul.

The Red Epic Ranger can use the Warrior Zord Gear to transform into his zord form, the Warrior Zord. In this form, the Warrior Zord exceeds in wielding his sword, & now equipped with a back jet booster, he can thrust at high speeds into battle. The Warrior Zord could also generate slashes to form a dust tornado that can wipe out a group of Brak footsoldiers.

• TBA: The Warrior Zord charges up his sword & awaits for the enemy. Once its location is known, he will burst into the air using his booster & finish the enemy with the finishing slash attack.
• TBA: The union attack of the Epic Rangers in their Zord forms. This is activated by the Warrior scanning the Solar Saber in the Morpher (with the Megazord Gear). The Warrior Zord jumps into the sky, followed by the Savage Zord, when the Primate Zord pounds the ground. Then the Savage Zord fires a swarm of spikes that both the Avian & Canine Zords lead towards the enemy. Lastly, much like the Red Epic Ranger's finisher, the Warrior Zord unleashes a flurry of rainbow colored slashes around the opponent, then rushes the enemy & slashes through them for the final blow, & the Savage & Primate Zords launches the enemy into the sky (much like a firework) before the explosion.

Red Divine Ranger

The Red Divine Ranger is the Red Epic Ranger's upgraded form, accessed using the Divine Phoenix Zord atop the Morpher. This form grants the Red Epic Ranger a golden cape, while his chest armor & helmet are altered to match. In this form, the Red Epic Ranger can also trap enemies in a peach-shaped crystal bubble, which he creates by focusing power into the emblem on his helmet's crown.

Attacks

• TBA: The Red Divine Ranger activates the Phoenix & charges his Morpher with red & white energy, firing a gold spiral that forms into the Divine Phoenix Zord. It absorbs him as it flys in flustering gold flakes with red lightning. The Red Divine Ranger then swoops down towards the opponent trapped in his crystalline peach bubble & attacks the peach repeatedly until it shatters & he strikes the opponent, reverting back into the Red Divine Ranger afterwards.

Design

The Red Epic Ranger's helmet features a protrusion pointing out the back, mimicking Momotaro's topknot. Like the other Epic Rangers, his visor is styled after sunglasses.

Red Epic Ranger Key

The Red Epic Ranger Key is Logan's personal Legendary Ranger Key. It is unknown if it will appear in a future crossover. Of course, as with all Legendary Ranger Keys, should it exist, it would be able to morph one, i.e. Super Megaforce Red, into the Red Epic Ranger.

''Power Rangers Epic'' Gear

The Power Rangers Epic Gear is one of many Legendary Ranger Gears used by the Mecha Force Rangers to battle the Mechanicor Army. In particular, when used by a Mecha Force Ranger’s Morpher, the Power Rangers Epic Gear summons the Red Epic Ranger & his Falcon CycleZord.
