- Animarian Power
- As a result of receiving Animarian power on one occasion, from Leon when he was too weak to use the Jungle Pride powers, Leo gained the ability to utilize his powers and abilities as well as to transform a Power Cube into a Cube Morpher in order to fight as one of the Jungle Pride Rangers.
- Intense volume
- As a result of receiving Leon's Animarian Power, Leo gains a naturally loud tone which he can use to his advantage in battle through "roaring".

- Jungle Slash: After pressing the trigger on the Cube Blaster to charge up its energy, the Yellow Lion Ranger and the other Jungle Pride Rangers transform into a giant claw that slashes the opponent. During the fight with Norseon, the Yellow Lion Ranger performed an alternate version with the Blue Shark Ranger where an aura resembling a beast's fangs manifests around the opponent and chomps the opponent as the two Rangers first perform a jumping downward stab followed by a lateral slash.
Pride Mode
In his Pride Mode, the Yellow Lion Ranger gains a pair of lion claw gauntlets that he uses to scratch his opponents as well as to perform a lightning charged super slash.
The Yellow Lion Ranger, along with the other Jungle Pride Rangers in their Pride Modes, are able to channel their powers along with the Red Gorilla Ranger's power into a gigantic fist that the Red Gorilla Ranger can use to pound an enemy.

- Leo's name is derived from the Panthera Leo, the species name of the lion.
- Leo is the first male Yellow Ranger since the Yellow Wind Ranger to have a male predecessor.
- He is also the first male Yellow Ranger since Yellow Wind Ranger to have a lion-themed Zord.
- Coincidentally, the Yellow Wind Ranger is his father.
