Forms

Ranya transforms into her various forms by inserting small coins called Relief Glyphlets into the Pyramidriver while the Amun Buckle is attached.

  • Sphinx Relief

ā€œPatch Out! Mamyrrha Descendsā€¦ Guardian of Sun, Amun: Sphinx!ā€

Sphinx Relief is Amunā€™s base form, modeled after the Sphinx and Bastet. Its finisher is the Spirit Coffin, which involves trapping the target in a pyramid energy construct before drop kicking through it.

A sphinx is a legendary creature that appears in Egyptian and Greek mythology. They have a human head, the body of a lion, and falcon wings. One Greek legend describes them as treacherous and challenging people with a deadly riddle. The most famous depiction of the creature is the Great Sphinx of Giza, a limestone statue located on the western bank of the Nile River which is a common symbol of Egyptian culture. The name of this beast could hail from the Latin word for "strangling" or from the Egyptian word meaning "divine image".

Bastet, also known as Bast, is an Egyptian goddess who also appears in ancient Greek religion. She is most often depicted as a domestic house cat, leading to the animal being viewed as sacred by the ancient Egyptians.

  • Scarab Relief

Scarab Relief is Amunā€™s alternative form, modeled after the dung beetle and Khepri. This form specializes in physical strength and can use incendiary grenades. Its finisher is the Scarlet Rampage, which involves summoning a giant sun to punch at the enemy as a projectile.

Dung beetles are any species of beetle that feeds on feces.

Khepri (also transliterated as Khepera, Kheper, Khepra, and Chepri) is a god from Egyptian mythology who takes the form of a scarab or dung beetle. He is responsible for rolling the sun across the sky. His name means 'to come into existence' in Egyptian.

  • Falcon Relief

Falcon Relief is Amunā€™s alternative form, modeled after the hawk and Horus. This form specalizes in speed and is capable of flight. Its finisher is the Combat Blaze, which involves skewering the enemy with a swarm of feather-like daggers before using a stomp to rip the target in half.

Hawks are medium-sized birds of prey belonging to the Accipitridae family.

Horus is a significant deity from Egyptian mythology most notable as the god of kingship and the sky. He is most often portrayed as a peregrine falcon or as a man with a falcon head. He plays a key role in the Osiris myth as the son of the title god and Isis while rivaling the evil Set. Horus' name is generally thought to mean 'the distant one' or 'one who is above'.

  • Jackal Relief

Jackal Relief is Amunā€™s alternative form, modeled after the jackal and Anubis. This form specializes in commanding the wind and wields a pair of sharp claws. Its finisher is Jacking The Loop, which involves running around the target at high speed to shred the enemy from all directions.

Jackals are a medium-sized canine native to Africa and Eurasia who are predators that travel in packs. The term refers to three different species: the black-backed jackal (Lipulella mesomelas), the side-striped jackal (Lupulella adusta), and the golden jackal (Canis aureus). All three species are defined as "scavengers", meaning their primary source of food are dead animals that were killed by other sources than the individual. In common culture, they are viewed as clever sorcerers and tricksters that also symbolize loneliness and abandonment. The word "jackal" dates back to 1600 and ultimately comes from a Sanskrit word meaning 'the howler'.

Anubis is the Egyptian god of death, the afterlife, and the underworld most often depicted as having a canine head. Anubis' main role was as a god who weighed a person's soul to determine whether they could enter the realm of the dead. He is one of the most frequently depicted and mentioned gods in the Egyptian pantheon, despite no relevant myths involving him. His name in Ancient Egyptian means 'a royal child' ("anpu"), with Anubis being the Greek rendering of this god's name.

  • Crocodile Relief

Crocodile Relief is Amunā€™s alternative form, modeled after the crocodile and Sobek. This form specializes in violent brutality and is armed with a pair of crocodile jaw-themed gauntlets. Its finisher is the Clawing Dining, which involves slashing and crushing the enemy before spinning through them like a mid-air drill.

Crocodiles are large semiaquatic reptiles that belong to the Crocodylidae family. They generally live in tropical environments and serve as predators that use their massive jaws to bite into their prey. Their name is derived from the Greek word "krokodilos", which refers to all lizards.

Sobek, also known as Sobki, is an Egyptian god associated with the crocodile. Exact descriptions of him vary, but he is often portrayed as aggressive and associated with military prowess. It is believed that his name comes from an an Ancient Egyptian verb meaning 'he who unites' as a reference to how Sobek is the one who built Osiris after he was chopped apart, thus "reuniting" his dismembered limbs.

  • Cobra Relief

Cobra Relief is Amunā€™s alternative form, modeled after the cobra. Its finisher is the Bloody Corruption, which involves transforming into a giant snake and destroying the enemy with rapid-fire blasts of acid spit. This form also references Kamen Rider Ouja from the series Kamen Rider Ryuki.

A cobra is a common name for various species of snakes, most commonly belonging to the Elapidae family and the Naja genus. All known snakes defined as cobras are venomous and are identifiable for producing a hood when threatened. The word is derived from the Portuguese phrase "cobra de capello", meaning 'snake with a hood'.

  • Scorpion Relief

Scorpion Relief is Amunā€™s alternative form, modeled after the scorpion. Its finisher is the Periodic Skull, which involves rapidly stinging the enemy which poisons and paralyzes them at the same time. This form also references Kamen Rider Sasword from the series Kamen Rider Kabuto.

Scorpions are predatory arachnids from the Scorpiones order that primarily live in deserts. They are widely known for their strong pincers and long, segmented tails that end with a stinger. Their name is believed to derive from a European root word that means 'to cut'.

  • Rakuda Relief

Rakuda Relief is Amunā€™s alternative form, modeled after the camel. Its finisher is Damnationā€™s Crash, which involves performing a wheelie while at high speed and crashing into the enemy.

  • Medjed Relief

Medjed Relief is Amunā€™s Mecha Form, modeled after the obscure Egyptian god Medjed. Its finisher is Minus The Ending, which involves shooting a massive golden laser from the eyes.

  • Pharaoh Relief

Pharaoh Relief is Amunā€™s super form, modeled after Cleopatra and Khnum. This form requires Amun to fuse with Kizuna Red. Its finisher is the Phalanx Overlord, which involves raining pyramid meteors from the sky before jumping extremely high to come down with a sunlight-infused punch.

Cleopatra VII Philopator was once the Queen of Egypt and its last active ruler. A companion of Alexander the Great, her death was followed by Egypt becoming a province of the Roman Empire. She has become a pop culture icon of Ancient Egypt since the Victorian era.

  • Amun Feudal

Amun Feudal is Amunā€™s Final Form, modeled after Amun-Ra and Tutankhamun. This form is accessed using the Chaos Scales adaptor unit and can access the abilities of every previous form. Its finisher is the Cursed Obelisk, which involves summoning copies of every Amun form to attack the enemy before fusing again into a giant glowing construct which drops the enemy.

Tutankhamun, also called King Tut, was a pharaoh who ruled over Ancient Egypt during the sixteenth century. He was mummified and buried in the Valley of the Kings following his death. The discovery of his tomb in 1922 by Howard Carter sparked a worldwide craze for Ancient Egypt and the mask found in his tomb is now a popular symbol for that time period. Unfortunately, several people lost their lives during the dig in tragic ways. Conspiracy theorists believe the deaths were the result of the curse of the pharaohs, an Egyptian folktale that warned that misfortune would befall those who disturbed the mummy of a pharaoh.

Etymology: To Be Added

The Japanese Meiji Restoration of 1868 led to ninjas becoming a topic of mystery and intrigue, which has since spread into popular culture worldwide.
