King Moonsault is the leader of the Nether Star Clan in Power Rangers Shining Spirits.

Character History[]

65 Million years ago[]

His relationship with Queen Maliga is fairly covered in mystery. However, during the era of the First Masters, four generals (Varyn, Batlyse, Galyn, and Kirnu) thought that Maliga was unfit to rule and planned to kill her. Varyn was banished, but he sent him to Planet Gaia at the edge of the solar system.

The masters got to Maliga first and defeated her, and soon scattered due to an impending asteroid impact (actually caused by Varyn's activities).

Chivalry Force[]

He gave Galyn Shoelien in hopes of finding the Gaia Crystal, but were distracted by 3 knights of a parallel universe and two college interns who wanted to protect their campus and their "dinosaur" skeletons.

He returned to Earth when he saw Varyn and his allies had mysteriously been brought back from the dead, but instead found an ambitious young lady, Tessa, who he made his new number 2 general. She later found him two more disciples, who he renamed Doctor Asheera, Doctor Axel, and Doctor Kareem.

Shining Spirits[]

He later created two new generals, which he said where from the Talos Dimension, to help challenge the disciples in defeating the Ranger Braves.

Personality[]

He treats Asheera as if she were his own. This shows he is a nurturing father, but he always loves to challenge others. He gets full of rage when a mission goes very bad.

Powers and Abilities[]

First Form[]

Energy Slash: Moonsault's sword can deliver a fatal energized slash of darkness
Flame Projection: Moonsault is able to shoot out a stream of dark fire from his hand.
Calamity Power: The evil equivalent of the ranger's Rusa Spark, which utilizes his anger and rage to increase his power.
- Darkness Generation: When angered, Moonsualt can generate darkness energy to power himself. When he used this to capture Moria's essence, it led to his second form.

He is the first leader whose counterpart was a general in the sentai since Madame Odius
He is the first boss villain whose upgraded form is a different villain, not an original villain upgrading to a form from the Sentai (ex Trakeena, Flurious)
His name comes from the defunct coaster Moonsault Scramble at Fuji Q Highland, it was replaced by Dodonpa (now Do-Dodonpa)
- It also plays off his moon motif, which fit into Yodonheim's Muslim mythology theme
