As Space Pirate Red, Ewan is the most balanced of the core Space Pirates Rangers, being adept at both melee and ranged combat. When performing Legendary Ranger Modes, which allows him to morph into the past Rangers that have preceded him, he usually transforms into previous Red Rangers.

Pirate Final Strike: This finisher has three variations:
- Final Strike: Space Pirate Red inserts the Space Pirate Red Key in the Pirate Saber, charging it in red energy. Once charged, he launches a red energy blade at the opponent alongside the other Rangers.
- Pirate Blast: Space Pirate Red inserts the Space Pirate Red Key in the Pirate Blaster, charging it in red energy. Once charged, he fires a red energy shot at the opponent alongside the other Rangers.
- Pirate Saber Blast: Space Pirate Red inserts two Red Ranger Keys in the Pirate Blaster & Saber, charging it in red energy. Once charged, he fires a red energy shot following a red energy blade at the opponent, alongside the other Rangers.
