Eltan Taban is a TBA leader and the commander of the Quantum Leap Rangers from the Draco Sector as well as the adoptive father of Vitus and Dipper. He becomes the tenth member of the team, the Violet Quantum Ranger, later evolving into Draco Quantum Ranger. He is also the second-in-command to the Red Quantum Ranger. After the permanent defeat of King Geddon, Eltan remains in the TBA as Supreme Commander, while Vitus takes over him as commander of the Quantum Leap Rangers.

Violet Quantum Ranger

The Violet Quantum Ranger is Eltan Taban's initial Ranger form. This form predates all the modern-day Quantum Leap Ranger (save of course Pyron), having been used by Eltan during his days as a soldier in the TBA. The system for this form was invented as a way to allow those who had not been chosen by the Quantum Globes to fight. As the system Eltan had invented used Skill Quantum Globes instead of Morph Quantum Globes, this transformation had a time limit. After the time limit expired, Eltan was left weakened and vulnerable.

The Draco Quantum Ranger is Eltan Taban's newer, evolved Ranger form. When the power of the nine Morph Quantum Globes resonated with his desire to fight together with the Quantum Leap Rangers, Eltan's Draco Quantum Globe evolved from a Skill Quantum Globe to a Morph Quantum Globe. This allowed his transformation to evolve into a newer, stronger form, removed the time limit it originally had, and manifested the Draco Voyagezord to fight alongside him.

- Eltan Taban is voiced by Bryan Cranston, who voiced Snizzard in the first season of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and Zordon in the 2017 film.
Etymology[]
- His name comes from Eltanin and Rastaban, the stars collectively called the "Dragon's Eyes" in the Draco constellation.

- Eltan Taban is the first Purple Ranger to have a dragon theme.
- He is the first Purple Ranger to be the second-in-command of the team.
