Earth Fights Back is the second episode of Power Rangers Space Pirates. This episode marks the first appearances of the Delta Runner Zord accessible via Legendary Ranger Modes. This episode is a tribute to Power Rangers S.P.D., featuring the return of Bridge Carson (S.P.D. Green Ranger).
Synopsis[]
While the rest of the team works with the civilians to rebuild their city, Ewan and a special policer stumble upon a plot by the Armada to launch missiles at major cities throughout the world.
Plot[]
The episode starts at the Armada Mothership, Prince Vekar is glad about the destruction caused by the second attack wave. However, Damaras replies that humans didn't surrender and that they are rebuilding the city. Then Cybax is sent down to launch missiles developed by Levira to major cities throughout the world.
At school, Zion watches footage of the Legendary Rangers during the war and reminds that Gosei said that they can also use Zords of several previous Rangers, wondering how this is possible before finally finding the answer.
Meanwhile at Ernie's BrainFreeze, Jack, Clare and Julia help with the repairs that was damaged by the Armada. Zion comes, excited, by hitting a Jack dressed as yogurt, to the place and and tells them how their Megazord could use the powers of the Zaferia Stones. Jack wonders where Ewan is so Clare tells him that he is just a little late but that he will arrive.
Ewan, once leaving his house, was about to go join his friends and sisters when he suddenly sees a group of X Borgs along with Cybax. He follows them to a warehouse where missiles are stored. But to his great surprise, another person, introducing himself as Bridge Carson, a member of the SPD, was also spying on Cybax and his X Borgs. He tells her that he comes from the future, from the year 2025, to capture the Armada criminal, Cybax, accused of having had a plot against humanity that would have caused problems in their future. It's then that Ewan quickly understands, because of Zion and his lessons on the Rangers, that he is one too. Bridge, knowing that Ewan is the Red Ranger of the Space Pirates Rangers by the SPD Commander, then offers to team up although at first he seems reluctant to accept his help, since taking care of the Armada is now their problem. However, they were discovered when Clare tried to contact him via Legendary Morpher causing an attack from Cybax and the X Borgs.
While Jack tries to sell Ernie's ice creams, much to Julia's dismay, Zion continues to show them the new powers they could obtain but that's when Gosei calls the other Rangers to help Ewan, who is in trouble with Bridge at his side. Ewan finally ends up accepting, understanding from his eldest that a little help won't do him any harm so he transforms into Space Pirate Red and goes through the X Borgs by transforming into all nineteen of the red rangers, something he always dreamed of doing. The other Rangers go to help Ewan, with Jack giving his yogurt suit and ice creams to a mannequin, but they encounter a group of X Borgs and morph into their Ranger form, then they use the Ranger Keys by changing into the Ranger Operators and Squadron Rangers to defeat the X Borgs.
At the Armada Mothership, Vekar āācomplains that placing missiles is taking too long. But Argus makes him remind him that it was his idea then Levira adds, saying that the they will only activate once night falls, which enrages the prince even more.
By nightfall, Space Pirate Red rushes in and destroys the missile launching device in time before the SPD cadet congratulates him for succeeding. Later, the Rangers regroup with Ewan and Zion is honored to be face to face with a Ranger from the future even though Julia reminded him of their mission and that they will be able to talk long after. Together, they morph into the S.P.D. Rangers to battle and destroy Cybax with the Delta Blasters and Deltamax Strikers.
Levira uses her Maximizer on Cybax, who plans to launch the missiles manually. The Rangers form the Legendary Megazord to take away the missile from him and launch it back to space, causing the destruction of several ships of the Armada. Bridge tells the Rangers that now they hold the S.P.D. Stone, the Delta Runner Zord is now unlocked. The Rangers combine the Legendary Megazord with the Delta Runner to form the Legendary S.P.D. Megazord. After a laser-gun battle, the Legendary S.P.D. Megazord destroys Cybax with the S.P.D. Final Strike. As a fight-back, the Rangers go to space and destroy ships of the Armada orbiting Earth, while Prince Vekar seems furious.
Near dawn in the Skyship, the Rangers return to the city and talk about their victory and Bridge's help, resulting in a flashback in which Bridge thanks the Space Pirate Rangers, especially Ewan and teaches him that trust is fundamental in teamwork, for their help although Zion tried to ask him lots of questions about the future before returning to the future. Then, they going to the mall and celebrate with the people that Earth can fight back the alien invasion.

- It's also the first episode where all 19 teams have been represented in Legendary Rangers Modes, as Ewan changes into the past 19 Red Rangers.
- This is the first time Space Pirate Pink transforms into Ranger Operator Series Black. As a result, this is the first glimpse of a female Black Ranger in all of Power Rangers.
- This is the first episode where the whole team does not transform together for a Legendary Ranger Mode.
- All of the Legendary Ranger Modes for this episode comprise of Rangers who are not known to the public on Earth at that time period.
- Squadron Rangers: This team of Rangers came from This Rangers team is from a distant past.
- S.P.D.: The events of S.P.D. occur in the year 2025, approximately 11 years after the arrival of the Armada.
- Ranger Operators: The events of RPM occur in an alternate universe. Despite that, Gosei and the Rangers still have their Keys for Legendary Mode.
- As the first tribute episode, this is the first time that a Legendary Ranger Mode homages another team.
Elements/Homages to S.P.D.[]
- When the Space Pirate Rangers turn into the S.P.D. Rangers, the way they are facing when their helmets change to S.P.D. is reminiscent of their morphing sequences.
- It is also a reference to their roll-call, as the S.P.D. Rangers face to the left while the sirens in their helmets flares.
- At the end of this episode, Zion, the Blue Ranger, says that the battle against the Armada has only just begun. At the end of S.P.D. episode "S.W.A.T.", Sky, S.P.D. Blue Ranger, says something similar.
- Also like this episode, it was an episode where the S.P.D. Rangers got an upgrade.
- Time travel was used again, as in the episodes "History" and "Wormhole", although this time Bridge traveled back in time using SPD technology.
- As in "A-Bridged", Bridge was the one who had to take care of the mission.
Errors[]
- After Cybax grew giant, he grabs the missiles twice (once before the commerical break and the second time after the commerical break).
- Bullets are seen out of Cybax's guns. In the original show, bullets were replaced by lasers.
Notes[]
- This is the last appearance of Space Pirate Blue Ranger's S.P.D. Blue Ranger form.
- The scene where Zion sees footage of the Legendary Rangers on the computer is reminiscent of a similar scene in the second episode of Kamen Rider Fourze where Tomoko shows Gentaro and the others footage of past Kamen Riders, who are now known as urban legends, on her tablet. Like here, the footage did not come from the original series.
- In the continuity of S.P.D., this episode takes place between episodes 35 and 36.
- While the Legendary Megazord launches Cybax's missiles to the Armada, the scene can be seen zooming out and revealing Japan, being the location where the Megazord's battle took place. This was actually due to the fact that most of the Zord footage in Power Rangers Space Pirates were simply reused from Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger.
