Dylan is one of the most rooky Power Rangers in the franchise. His enthusiasm and energy helped him adapt to his responsibilities as a Aero Ranger. Dylan is a child prodigy with an intellect far past his peers. This gift, thanks to accelerated aging, has led to Dylan being skipped ahead to 9th grade at Angel Grove High School, where coincidentally, his fellow Ranger Kim was teaching the incoming Freshmen.
Dylan's mother is a computer programmer while his father works at the office of an aeronautics corporation.
Dylan and Alpha 5 met when Dylan was 6 years old; he had gotten separated from his mother in Angel Grove Park. The Wanna-Be Ranger (Revisited Series)
When he turned twelve, Dylan discovered the identities of the Power Rangers by accident while Rocky was recovering from a back injury in the hospital. With Rocky in the hospital, the Power Rangers were short a member when they needed to be at full strength in order to fight Telissa. Rocky chose Dylan to be his replacement during the crisis and to become the Blue Aero Ranger. After Rocky recovered, however, he left the powers with Dylan and chose to retire from a life as a Power Ranger, out of jealousy and resentment. When being bullied by two punks, Dylan was anxious to use his Ranger strength against them, but chose not to, as the Ranger code states that he cannot use his powers for personal gain. As Tommy, Kim, Adam, Tanya and the others had decided to set aside their Ranger duties, they chose four new replacements (TJ, Cassie, Carlos, and Ashley). But, Dylan still retained his powers.
