Devon Jackson was Mighty Warrior Black Ranger of the Mighty Warriors during the first season and the beggining of the second season, as well as the Omega Black Ranger. He was also the All-New Mighty Warrior Black Ranger for a short period of time.
He later regained access to his original Mighty Warrior powers.
Character History[]
Current timeline[]
Early life[]
Devon was born on May 23, 1978 in Duncan Valley, Canada, on planet Earth. His parents are from Jamaica.
Devon was the second of five children, and since early years he learned how to take care of his younger siblings. His father was a police officer and his mother was a nurse at the Duncan Valley Hospital.
When Devon was six, his father died on the job, and his mother had to start working double duty to keep up with the bills. Devon's older brother Trevor became the "father of the family", taking care of all of his siblings and ensuring their health and safety despite his young age. When Trevor graduated from high school and left home, that responsibility passed to Devon.
Becoming a Power Ranger[]
At the start of the 1993 school year, Devon missed the entire first week of school due to his responsibilities at home, and was sentenced to a day of Saturday detention.
After the detention ended, Devon returned home to take care of his siblings. On Sunday, Trevor showed up and said he heard about the detention. He told his brother to go see the fireworks on the lake, as he deserved to rest. Devon hugged Trevor and went to the lake to see the fireworks.
At the lake, Devon found others of his colleagues who had also been in detention earlier: Trent Hand, Harold Corduroy, Gwen White, and Mo Chakrabarti. The five ended up having a conversation for the first time, and Trent asked why they ended up in detention, but they all veered off the subject.
Suddenly, the entire city shook in what was believed to be an earthquake. It later turned out that the entire world had shaken due to the discharge of energy released on Earth when Rita Repulsa and her minions were released from their prison on the Moon.
With the earthquake, a hole in the ground opened up and the five teenagers ended up falling into it, finding themselves on a mysterious cave. Inside the cave, they ended up finding the five Power Coins, and each of them felt attracted to one of them. After they touched the coins, another tremor occurred and the five were swallowed by the earth as the cave collapsed.
The next day, each of them mysteriously ended up waking up on their beds, with the Power Coins by their sides. It would later be revealed that it was Alpha V who teleported the unconscious youths - unharmed thanks to the powers granted to them by the Coins - to their homes. Confused, Devon went directly to school and went with Harold, Gwen and Mo to go find Trent. After they found him, they discussed what has happened to them.
They took their classes normally and, at the end of the school day, out of a sudden, all five of them had a vision of a strange location similar to a base, how to get there and an ethereal voice saying "Come". As Devon knew how to drive - despite not being 16 yet -, he took his older brother's car and drove the five teenagers to the mountains next to the city, moved only by a feeling that said they were getting close to their destination. They arrived at a weird location, where there is no plants around and the mountain seems like a desert. There they saw it: an enormous white base, resembling a castle, but with a style of architecture none of them had ever seen. Stranger still, the base opened up to them, and they entered, with Trent leading the way. Inside the base, the five teenagers finally met Zordon of Barza and the robot Alpha V.
Zordon introduced himself to the teenagers and told them what was happening: 7000 years ago, he and a group of warrior friends came to planet Earth aboard the Command Center - the base they were on, which was actually a spaceship - on a mission to protect it, as our planet is a nexus of the Morphin Grid - the force that keeps the entire Multiverse alive and in balance. However, eventually, the planet was attacked by Rita Repulsa and her minions, and Zordon and his friends had to resort to Power Coins to transform themselves into the Power Rangers - a team of powerful warriors who use the energy of the Morphin Grid to fight the evil forces, armed with powerful weapons and mighty machines called "Zords". Zordon continues the story, saying that the Power Rangers fought Rita for years, until they were able to trap her and her minions in a bucket-shaped prison, which was placed on the moon. But Rita had managed to severely injure Zordon before she was arrested, and he ended up dying. It was then that the robot automaton Alpha V ended up collecting its master's consciousness and placing it in a transmitter tube.
Zordon explained to the Rangers that during NASA's most recent mission to the moon, two astronauts ended up freeing the sorceress, and that the energy released by this event was what generated the previous night's global earthquake. He even told them that the coins they found in the cave were the Power Coins, and that they had been chosen by fate to become the next incarnation of the Power Rangers and protect Earth from Rita and other threats. He explained each of the Coins, and what they did to the person they were bonded with. To Devon, he said he was chosen to be the Black Power Ranger, the wielder of the Mammoth Dinozord.
The five teenagers were shocked by all the information, and tried to leave, but Zordon showed them images of planets dominated by Rita, and stated that if they didn't do anything, that's what would happen to Earth. When Trent decided to accept the mission, Devon then thought about his mother, siblings and even the four friends he's made recently. He decided to follow his new leader's decision, agreeing to become a Ranger.
The White Sage calmed the youths, saying that Rita had not yet attacked Earth because of protection barriers placed by him millennia ago, which prevented the sorceress and those who serve her from invading. However, Zordon warned them that Rita was a powerful mage and that, even weakened, she would eventually get through the barriers, and that they must be prepared for when that happens. The Power Rangers' training began immediately.
The five teenagers spent the next few weeks training and perfecting their combat techniques, still unable to morph. At the same time, they strengthened the bonds of friendship with each other. To their parents, they said they were studying at Devon's house - a good alibi, as the young man's mother worked all day, and there would be no way for her to know this was a lie.
One night, the five of them gathered around a campfire and shared their personal problems with each other, and they finally shared why they ended up in detention. The others said to Devon that he does'n need to keep all of that responsability to himself, and that if he needed any help, they were there for him any time. Devon got emotional and thanked them, saying they were the best friends anyone could ever have.
Finally, Rita Repulsa managed to break through Zordon's mystical barrier and attacks Earth on her own, invading Duncan Valley by sensing the energy of the Power Coins. Unable to morph, the Rangers were no match for her, who almost killed Harold. After leaving the boy unconscious, she told them that Zordon was keeping a secret from everyone: she was his niece.
Devon and the other three transported Harold to the Command Center, putting him on the med bay in order for him to heal. The Rangers blew up on Zordon and said he had no right to keep such a secret from them. The youth's mentor asked for forgiveness, and said he kept his kinship with Rita a secret so as not to alienate the Rangers. An annoyed Gwen said that if they had walked away, Harold would still be okay.
Hearing the discussion, Harold woke up and told his friends that they shouldn't do that, and that in their mentor's position, most likely they would end up doing the same thing. The Rangers apologized to their mentor, who also apologized to them. After that, the Rangers left to face Rita and her minions: the mighty Goldar and the foot soldiers Putty Patrollers, who were wreaking havoc across the city seeking to lure the Rangers. The teens easily defeated the Patrollers with their powers, even though they were unable to morph. When Goldar was about to attack a family, Trent set out to save them and his act of heroism allowed him to morph for the first time into the Red Ranger. Motivated by their leader, the other Rangers also morphed, and the Power Rangers Mighty Warriors were reborn into this new generation of warriors.
The battle intensified, and Rita made Goldar grow to a gigantic size. The Rangers wonder what they were going to do, and that's when Alpha sent out the Zords. For the first time, the Rangers piloted their mighty robots, but they didn't seem to be doing the job separately. When Goldar tried to destroy Duncan Valley High's Youth Center, they were able to muster enough strength to unite their five Zords into the mighty MegaZord. They defeated Goldar, sending him back to his normal size, and used a powerful beam from their sword against Rita. She was not destroyed, but was extremely damaged and weaker than she already was. She then returned to her moon castle base with Goldar and vowed revenge on the Power Rangers.
After saving the city, the Power Rangers became a worldwide phenomenon. Everyone in the world is talking about them, wondering who they were and where they came from. Journalists tried to get interviews with them, but the Rangers fled on sight of any of them. When they finally gave up, the Rangers helped PROMETHEA rebuild Duncan Valley.
Rita Repulsa eventually struck again, sending the monster known as the Gold Mask to attack Duncan Valley, but the Power Rangers managed to defeat him, thus consolidating themselves as the team of protectors of planet Earth.
Later, Devon was kidnapped by the monster King Sphinx alongside the other Rangers, but was rescued by Trent after he single handedly defeated him.
The Rangers' next adventure was to planet Kwan, after Zordon ordered them to obtain magnetic mineral of utmost importance to his plans. In Kwan, the Rangers faced Rita's soldier known as Minodon. After the provoked an earthquake on the mountain they were on, the Mighty Warriors fled and received help from Baku, an old friend of Zordon. The Rangers gained possession of the mineral which, when taken to Earth after the Rangers escaped from Minodon, was used by Alpha to complete his newest venture: uniting all the Power Weapons into the Power Blaster, first used to finally destroy Minodon.
The team's next battles were against Gnarly the Gnome and the Pudgy Pig. They thwarted Chickanor's plan to steal the Power Eggs - mystical eggs placed on Earth by the Morphin Masters millions of years ago. The Mighty Warriors then fought against the mighty Eyeguy and Mister Sneeze, Gwen's childhood doll who was transformed into a monster by Rita's magic.
Devon and the other Rangers organized a surprise party for Gwen, and ended up fighting against the monster Dora Knight on her birthday.
Battle against Ranger Slayer[]
Eventually, the Mighty Warriors faced a new enemy: the Ranger Slayer, a powerful Pink Ranger from an alternate Universe who was in fact Mohini's doppelgƤnger. The Ranger Slayer has been sent to this Universe by her "master" on a mission to kill the "6th Ranger", but she had accidentally arrived "too early". She temporarily joined forces with Rita Repulsa and tried to destroy the Rangers with her Zord, the Gravezord - which she could control miles away from it. One day the Ranger Slayer invaded the Command Center and tried to hack into it, but Mo followed her and defeated her by destroying her bow - thus breaking the spell that has been cast on her and freeing Slayer's from her master's mind control.
Slayer then apologized to the Rangers and explained what has happened to her and that her world was a dystopia controlled by "a fascist Ranger who betrayed everyone and everything". She spent an afternoon with them just before she returned to her own Universe.
Enters: the Green Ranger[]
The Mighty Warriors strengthened themselves each time Rita sent a new monster. When she found out Devon was afraid of clowns, she sent the monster Clowner to fight against the Rangers and Devon had to overcome his fear to destroy him. Their next fights were against mind-controlled Grumble Bee (who turned out to be a pacifist alien and friend to the Rangers), the hybrid Snizzard, Kerubis the Wizard and Zordon's old foe the Dark Ninja. Seeing the Rangers defeating her monsters every time, Rita decided to sent her own Ranger: the Green Ranger.
The Green Ranger was Duncan Mayhem, a young man who had just moved to town and who had faced Trent during a friendly karate championship and almost won. He was mind-controlled by Rita and turned into evil. He faced the Mighty Warriors several times, aided by Repulsa's new general Scorpina. He was eventually able to break into the Command Center and destroy the base's control panels, breaking Zordon's connection to our plane of existence.
The Rangers were left helpless for days while Harold and Alpha tried to bring Zordon back. Mohini was eventually able to discover that Duncan was the Green Ranger, and revealed that to the other Rangers, who faced him again, unsuccessfully one more time.
When Harold and Alpha were finally able to restore Zordon's presence in the Power Tube, he revealed to the Rangers that Duncan was being mind-controlled by Rita through the Sword of Darkness he used, and that to break the spell, it was necessary to break the sword. Trent volunteered to fight against him while the other Rangers faced Scorpina, and was able to detroy the Sword of Darkness in a fight that destroyed a big part of Duncan Valley's forest, bringing the boy back to his normal self.
After the fight, Devon and the other Mighty Warriors arrived at the forest, and witnessed Trent inviting a fragilized Duncan into the team. Mayhem accepted, strengthening the Mighty Warriors' forces in the war against Rita and her subordinates.
With Duncan on the team, the Mighty Warriors became stronger during the fight against monsters such as Shellshock, General Mutitus and the Angry Flower. On Christmas Day, the Rangers faced the Demon Claus, a monster based off Santa Claus. After they defeated the monster and went to a party at the Youth Center, Devon met his old flame Angie under the mistletoe, and they kissed. Shortly afterwards, they started dating.
The 1969 team reveal and the Island of Illusion[]
On the last day of 1993, the leader of PROMETHEA - and Trent's aunt - Grace Hand, asked the Rangers for help on a PROMETHEA mission, whose objective was to defeat the alien entity known as Dominus, which threatened to cross a dimensional portal to Earth. Even with Zordon's hesitation, the Rangers accepted the mission and, together with a squad of PROMETHEA soldiers, invaded Dominus' dimension to defeat it.
Things seemed fine until Dominus managed to kill half the soldiers, leaving the Rangers in shock. Furious, Trent used the Power Sword and almost slaughtered the monster, but was subdued by it. Devon and the others saved him and, using the Power Blaster, were able to destroy Dominus once and for all. Back on Earth's dimension, the shocked Rangers witnessed a fight between Grace and Zordon in the Command Center. Zordon said that Grace shouldn't have dragged teenagers into that fight, and that they weren't ready to deal with that kind of loss. Grace countered, saying that Zord was hypocritical in talking about loss when he was responsible for the deaths of her entire Mighty Warriors team.
Upon hearing that, Trent - who was hiding in the shadows along with the others - came closer and questioned what she had said. His aunt, calling the Red Ranger by his name - revealing that she knew her nephew's identity - then told him that she was Mighty Warrior Red Ranger in the past, in 1969, when a group of five young people from around the world had encountered the Power Coins and went to meet Zordon, where they were given the mission to protect Earth from the Psycho Green Ranger. In the mission, three of the Rangers had died, leaving only Grace and Abraham, the Yellow Ranger, thanks to the sacrifice of the Blue Ranger Igor. When they returned to Earth, Zordon just apologized and took the Power Coins out of their hands, sending them out of the Command Center.
After telling the story to the teenagers, Grace warned them that Zordon was not to be trusted, that he kept dozens of secrets and that, for him, none of them were irreplaceable. She left the Command Center, where Zordon tried to justify himself to the kids, but was ignored when they just teleported away, no longer trusting their mentor after discovering another of his lies.
Devastated after what they had seen and heard, the Rangers each went to their homes. When Devon arrived at his house, his mom saw he was clearly shocked by something, and asked what had happened. Devon avoited his mom's question and went to his bedroom, where he couldn't sleep for the rest of the night thinking about what had happened.
Three days later, on January 3, 1994 the Rangers still had not forgiven Zordon. Taking advantage of this, Rita contacted her former ally Lokar, a lord from another dimension, who transported the teenagers to the Island of Illusion, an island in his dimension where people face their worst fears. The Rangers were forced to face their biggest nightmares - Devon's one being disappointing his mother - but everyone helped each other to break those illusions. Meanwhile, on Earth, Zordon was desperate to save his children, until Alpha was able to find them and bring them back home safely. Before the Rangers left, Zordon asked them to stay and listen to what he had to say. The Mighty Warriors' mentor apologized for his actions, and admitted that he was an extremely flawed person with several secrets. He said that he had lost many allies and loved ones in this war, and that it was difficult for him to open up and tell everything, but that he would do it if necessary to make the Rangers trust him again.
The Rangers looked at Trent, trusting their leader to be their spokesman, and he said they would trust him if Zordon revealed all of his secrets to them. The White Sage agreed, and revealed to the Rangers everything about the Armageddon War, Dark Specter, his siblings and Lord Zedd. After hearing the story, the Rangers were all tired and full of information, but it was thanks to this that the Mighty Warriors' trust in their leader began to return, until eventually everything returned to normal.
Shattered Grid[]
Duncan's death[]
Only two days after what happened on the Island of Illusion, the Mighty Warriors had yet another victorious fight against Goldar. To celebrate, the Rangers threw a party at the Command Center, complete with music and Devon trying to teach dance steps to Alpha V. In the middle of the party, Duncan and Mo went out on a date. However, what no one expected was that everyone's lives would change that day.
Hours later, now at night, and after Duncan and Mo had said goodbye, he was attacked and stabbed in the back by Lord Drakkon - an older, evil version of himself from an alternate Universe known as Earth-5. Mo, who had returned to meet with him, witnessed the moment and attacked Lord Drakkon, with the help of a mysterious Pink Ranger who emerged from a time portal - this was Emma Tanaka, the Pink Time Force Ranger of the Time Force Rangers. The two managed to send Drakkon back to the interdimensional portal he came from, but it was too late. Duncan died in Mo's arms, as he murmured his last words: "So that's what she meant...". Mo, completely desperate, called Devon and the others over the Communicator, who were devastated when they arrived and saw what had happened. Emma, āāthe Pink Time Force Ranger, passed out due to past battles, and the Rangers took her and Duncan's body to the Command Center, where she was placed in the Med Bay and Duncan's vital energy was analyzed by Zordon. When it was determined that he had in fact died and that nothing could be done, Trent took the difficult task of revealing what had happened to him to his mother - lying that he had been killed by a mugger shortly after his date with Mo.
The next few days passed like a blur for everyone on the team, Devon included. They were all trying figure out what to do, when Emma finally woke up.
War on Drakkon[]
The Rangers teleported to the Command Center, where Emma explained that she came from the 31st century and that she worked for an agency known as Time Force, whose mission was to protect the timeline. In addition, she also revealed to them that, after the Mighty Warriors, dozens of other teams of Power Rangers would emerge following their legacy in protecting the Earth. With the current threat of Drakkon - revealed to be the Ranger Slayer's former master, and an alternate version of Duncan who never sided with good, even after being freed from Rita's spell - the Morphin Grid had cloistered every year of that Universe (Earth-1) into separate pocket dimensions to protect the timeline.
After the explanation, the Rangers were stunned, but Mo quickly recovered and asked Emma to go back in time to save Duncan, but the Pink Time Force Ranger said that unfortunately it was impossible, due to the risk of further damaging the timeline.
Decided to stop Drakkon's strike on the Multiverse, Devon and the others followed Emma's lead into traveling to other Universes and timeline pocket dimensions and rescuing as many Rangers as possible, bringing them to security on Earth-1. The first place visited by them was a pocket dimension in the year 2012, where they rescued Samurai Red Ranger Sato Taichi, the last standing member of his team.
After Trent and Taichi went to Earth-3 to aid the R.P.M. Rangers, Devon and the other Rangers were sent to Zordon to rescue more Rangers in other pocket dimensions. Devon and Gwen joined forces and were able to rescue Kira Ford of the Dino Force Rangers, Julian Cheng of the Jungle Force Rangers, Travis Blythe and Taylor Potter of the Megaforce Rangers. When they returned to 1994, they discovered Mo and Emma were able to rescue Karone Andros of the Galactic Force Rangers, Cody Anderson of the Lightspeed Rangers and Serena Allen of the Dino Charge Rangers. Later, Trent and Tai returned alongside the R.P.M. Rangers, Doctor K and the S.P.D. B-Squad Rangers.
Battle on Earth-5[]
Doctor K quickly joined forces with Harold, Travis and Serena to create a machine that could transmit a message troughout the entire Multiverse. When it was finished, Zordon used this machine to send a message to every single remaining Power Ranger team in the Multiverse, calling them all to join forces on Earth-1. The Mighty Warriors witnessed as dozens of colorful flash lights fell from the sky, each of them containing a teleporting Ranger. Amazed by the number of Rangers that would appear in their legacy, the Mighty Warriors noticed the presence of older versions of Duncan - a Mighty Warrior White Ranger from a few months in the future, the Zeo Red Ranger from 1995, the Turbo Red Ranger from 1996 and the Dino Force Black Ranger from 2018 - which continued to exist despite their Duncan's death thanks to the Morphin Grid, alongside older versions of Mo, Harold and Earth-5's versions of Gwen and Devon. Thrilled and emotional, Devon and the other Mighty Warriors hugged the Duncans, before escorting all the Rangers present there into the Command Center.
After meeting inside the Command Center, the Rangers took a few hours to relax, talk or try to regain their powers through the Ranger powers restorative technology created by Doctor K. After all the Rangers were ready, K, Alpha V, Harold, Harold's adult self from 2018, Cameron Watanabe and several other geniuses came together to create a device capable of taking all the Rangers to Earth-5 so they could face Drakkon in what they planned to be the final battle against him.
After it was done, the Rangers relocated to PROMETHEA's base to use it as their mean of transport to Earth-5. The Rangers prepared themselves as Grace, along with Abraham and Ranger Slayer - who had returned from Earth-5 - joined them.
Before the Rangers went to their ultimate battle, the Mighty Warriors, the future versions of Duncan, Mo and Harold, and Earth-5's versions of Gwen and Devon went to the top of the mountain next to PROMETHEA's base to contemplate everything before the fight. After giving the Dragon Dagger to Mo, Trent addressed all the other Rangers below them, launching into a speech to motivate them all and remind them of their goal. He reminded them of a Power Ranger's unremitting mission to always fight for what is fair and protect the innocent, and said that no matter what happened, they would fight until the end, for that is what all those who were present had been chosen for. After these words, everyone present raised their right fists and shouted: "Power Rangers!"
The next few minutes followed with final preparations. When everything was ready, Grace activated the teleportation device and took everyone there to the Moon of Earth-5. The Rangers were divided into two teams: a larger one, led by Trent, who attacked the hundreds of Drakkon soldiers present on the battlefield; and a smaller one, led by Ranger Slayer, who went with the PROMETHEA base - now floating thanks to its experimental thrusters - to the part of the Moon where Drakkon's prison was located, where he kept all the captured Rangers as prisoners.
At first, the Rangers were winning the battle, but Drakkon's Sentinels quickly leveled the game. The scenario was pure chaos: Rangers versus Sentinels, Megazords versus battle mechas. It all went worse when Drakkon finally arrived at the battlefield, in a new and more powerful form. He attacked with all his power, and killed many Rangers, among them Takuya Weston from the Ninja Squad Rangers, the whole Beast Morphers team and Merrick from the Wild Force Rangers. At some point, a furious Connie Gray (Hyper Force Black Ranger of the Hyper Force Rangers, who had her arm cut off by Drakkon in a previous battle) used her new robotic arm to blast against Drakkon with total power. However, she didn't know the power from her arm's blast was exactly what Lord Drakkon needed to complete his plan: the final fuel of energy necessary to grant him enough power to cut through reality and reach the Morphin Grid, where he defeated a Morphin Master and stole his Heart, using it to evolve into his ultimate form.
A moment of silence was held on the battlefield, with all Rangers apprehensive about what was about to happen. Suddenly, a dimensional tear appeared, and Drakkon, more powerful than ever, came out of it in a giant form and began to remodel Existence itself with his own hands, erasing that reality and killing - almost - everyone present. Lord Drakkon had won.
Drakkon's perfect world[]
In the world created by Drakkon, where he was a god worshiped by everyone, Devon was transformed into a reporter who worked for The Duncan Valley Daily. The reality remained this way until Duncan - who had actually survived Drakkon's attack in 1994 due to the Ranger Slayer's schemes - was able to defeat him and recover everyone's memories. When that whole reality began to crumble, he offered a chance to Drakkon, who refused, choosing to remain on the path he had chosen for himself. So, united with the Emissaries Three, Devon and the other Mighty Warriors recreated the Multiverse the way it was before the events of Shattered Grid - mostly, at least...
Further adventures[]
In the new post-Shattered Grid reality, the Rangers had no memory of what had happened during the times of Shattered Grid. Duncan never died and he and Mo began a relationship. The Mighty Warriors remained firm and strong, protecting the Earth from Rita Repulsa's attacks, experiencing several adventures: the Mighty Warriors faced over against Rockroll, a monster who was inadvertently freed from his mirror prison thanks to Trent's cousin Jeremy. Later, Devon was one of the Rangers defeated by the bounty hunter Starkon along with Trent, Harold and Mo; fortunately, they were saved by Duncan and Gwen.
The Mighty Warriors found themselves in Italy fighting the powerful Da Vinci Monster, a monster based on Da Vinci's Vitruvian Man. When Rita created her own Zord, Cyclopsis, to destroy the Rangers, the Rangers were able to defeat it after Trent gained the trust of the massive Titanus Zord and woke it from its slumber.
The Rangers later fought against the brothers Falconis and Eagler, and a mind-controlled unicorn Rita had sent to destroy Duncan Valley. When the school semester - and, consequently, Trent's detention - was over, they decided to go out and celebrate, but they were forced to fight against Rita's group of evil clones of the Mighty Warriors known as the Dark Rangers.
When Rita linked Duncan's Green Ranger powers to an artifact known as the Green Candle, Trent went to the Moon Castle to retrieve it in order to help his friend, while Devon and the others dealt with the Cyclon monster on Earth. At the Castle, Trent faced Goldar and was ultimately able to retrieve the Green Candle. Back on Earth, Harold teamed up with Zordon and Alpha and managed to stop the Candle's effects, keeping Duncan's powers intact.
During a martial arts championship at Duncan Valley High, Devon and the other Rangers befriended three teenage ninjas who had moved to Duncan Valley from nearby Stone Edge: Justin Kealoha, Dave Vishwakumar, and Wanda Kingsley. When they were kidnapped by the monster known as Ninjak, Mohini had no other choice than reveal their secret identities to the trio; this only strengthened their bond, as the Stone Edge Trio felt honored of the Mighty Warriors entrusting their secret to them. They would serve as alibis for the Rangers when they needed to leave their civilian lives to protect Earth.
When Goatan kidnapped Angie, Devon went to fight him on his own, completely driven by his anger. The others arrived just in time to help their friend when Devon realized they were stronger as a team. The Mighty Warriors defeated Goatan and rescued Angie.
A few days after the new school semester began, the Mighty Warriors decided to go up the mountains in order to study for a test in a quiet place, but were faced by Goldar, who invaded their dreams through the mystical Crystal of Nightmares. As usual, the Rangers were ultimately able to get rid of the nightmares and defeat their enemy.
On a weekend in which Rita didn't send any monsters to Earth, the Rangers enjoyed their days off. In Devon's case, he and Mo joined forces to prevent Ernie's Juice Bar from being closed. The break was over when Rita sent the Mantis monster to Earth; the Rangers only defeated him after Gwen mastered the Mantis Style of Kung-Fu.
A few days after that, Rita kidnapped the Rangers' parents, taking advantage of Trent and Mo's moment of fragility with their parents. Rita said that she would only return them safely if the Rangers gave her the Power Coins. They accepted, but, anticipating that Rita would break the agreement, they gave Goldar fake Coins. They defeated him once again and rescued their parents themselves.
As the Black Ranger, Devon fought against the two-headed monster Fury Parrot and the weird Poker Face, who was trying to put an end to Duncan Valley High's talent show presentation. When the Rangers were imprisoned in a pocket dimension by the monster Sir Locks-A-Lot, they were saved by Bulk and Skull - who had been chosen by Zordon and Alpha to temporarily become the Mighty Warrior Purple and Orange Rangers. After the battle was over, their memories were wiped out.
A few days later, Devon and Duncan met Chris, a 14-year-old delinquent who had no parents, and ultimately decided to help him abandon the life of crime. After a few setbacks, they got him a job at Ernie's Juice Bar.
The Mighty Warriors later fought against the monster Peckster. When the Super Putty Patrollers captured Devon, Harold, Gwen and Mo, they were rescued by Trent and Duncan. The next monsters they faced were the mighty Lizzinator, Lightfish - who was defeated mainly by Harold after he faced his fear of fish - and Pearl Queen - who kidnapped several women in Duncan Valley, among them Trent's mother and Angie. Afraid of the possibility of losing Angie, Devon decided to break up with her in order to keep her safe from Rita's monsters, which broke both of their hearts.
Madame Woe and Rita's strike on Earth[]
The next enemy they faced was the strongest they had faced until then. Madame Woe, Zordon's sister and Rita's aunt, had come to Earth to aid her niece into defeating the Mighty Warriors, which she temporarily did. The Rangers almost died in that battle, so Zordon saw no other alternative: he ordered Alpha to prepare the robot body they had created to serve as Zordon's host in moments like this. Zordon and Madame Woe faced off, with Zordon ultimately winning after he saw no other alternative than to kill his sister. The amount of power he used to do that destroyed the robot body, so his consciousness was put onto the Power Tube again. The Rangers asked why he didn't always use a robot body like that, to which Zordon replied that was a one-time thing that needed to be done in a time of pure desperation.
A few days after Zordon defeated Madame Woe, Rita finally descended personally to Earth again. With her Staff finally at its full power again, she started destroying everything. In order to defeat her, the Mighty Warriors had to use their Megazord's full potential, which ended up destroying it completely. The only remaining Zord was the Dragonzord, since its powers were different than the main Zords and Titanus'.
However, it was worth it: Rita was defeated once again, her Staff was permanently damaged and she ran away to the Moon yet again. Although the Rangers felt the loss of their Zords, they were happy because the battle was over - for now...
The arrival of Lord Zedd[]
New Zords and first battles[]
The peace was short-lived. Just six days after Rita's defeat, the sorceress' boss, Lord Zedd, arrived at the Moon Base and took it upon himself to defeat the Mighty Warriors, imprisoning Rita back in her prison and sending her into space.
As his first attack, Zedd sent the monster Pirantishead to Duncan Valley, alongside an army of Z-Putties, evolved forms of Putty Patrollers who were only destroyed by hitting the "Z" in their chests. When Pirantishead grew giant, the Rangers found themselves defenseless without their Zords, destroyed in the last battle against Rita. In that moment, Zordon and Alpha revealed that they were very close to linking the Thunderzords - Zords from another team of Rangers that had been entrusted to Zordon - with the powers of the Mighty Warriors. While Duncan fought Pirantishead with the Dragonzord, the other Rangers were waiting for their new Zords. When the process was finally done, Devon received the powerful Lion Thunderzord. After forming the powerful Thunder Megazord, the Rangers defeated Pirantishead, the first of Zedd's many defeats at the hands of the Mighty Warriors.
The next day, a slave named Agni, coming from the planet Gold - one of the planets belonging to Lord Zedd's empire - arrived on Earth aboard a ship. He asked the Rangers for help to free his planet from the slavers, and the Rangers accompanied him to Gold. The Rangers were horrified when faced with the conditions of the slaves, and Devon was the one who was most involved in the plan to free them, due to the history of slavery and oppression Black people had suffered on Earth.
Devon went to fight against Governor Araskull, the planet's ruler and slave master, while the others organized and supported a slave revolt against Araskull's henchmen. The invaders were expelled, and the Goldimites' freedom was returned. The Rangers said goodbye to Agni and returned to Earth, satisfied that they had won the day once again, but still terrified by the fact that horrible things like slavery were still present in the universe.
A few days later, the Rangers faced internal problems when Lord Zedd transformed Devon's gorilla suit into the shapeshifting monster Primator, who used his ability to transform into Harold. Under Harold's appearance, he caused several disagreements within the team, who got mad at the real Harold, completely unaware of what was really happening. When the truth was revealed, the Rangers brutally destroyed Primator, as this monster had hurt them personally this time.
The Mighty Warriors later fought against the monster Doomwer, a plant-like monster who fed on Mohini's envy.
Green no more and the White Ranger[]
When the monster known as Flamor caused a fire in Duncan Valley who almost got Duncan's mother killed, the boy became distant in his wishes for revenge. They Rangers were able to destroy Flamor, but Duncan's isolation caused him to be kidnapped by Lord Zedd and taken to an alternate dimension. The other Mighty Warriors faced off and defeated the Octophant monster on Earth, before they went after Duncan and Zedd. Unfortunately, Zedd was successful in destroying Duncan's Power Coin. The Green Ranger was no more.
They left the alternate dimension and went back to Earth, where Duncan apologized for his recent behavior, which led him to be captured. Trent said it was actually his fault, as he was the team's leader and should have noticed that his friend was not feeling okay and offered help. Duncan told him that he did whatever he could, and that he didn't blame Trent. In the next days, after Duncan's mother woke up, Duncan convinced her to leave Duncan Valley with him just for a few days. They decided to visit Duncan's adoptive uncle on Wasaga Beach, Ontario, and all the Rangers went to say their goodbies.
Although Duncan told him not to be worried, Trent would still feel guilty about what happened to his powers. This guilt would interfere in the Mighty Warriors next battles: when Thunderstruck caused a blackout in Duncan Valley, Trent was totally zoned out of the battle, which led Devon to took control of the situation and lead the team against him; when Xu'athun attacked the city, it was thanks to Alpha and Harold's new-made Zord, Tor, that the Rangers won; and when Guitardo mind-controlled Trent and the others with his song, it was Mo who saved them.
When Turban Shell and Pipebrain kidnapped Devon and the others, Trent finally overcame his guilt and freed his friends after defeating the two monsters by himself.
Two days later, Zedd kidnapped Mo and put her into a spell, forcing her to fight against her friends alongside the monster Trumpeton, but the other Rangers were able to rid her of the spell. The five Mighty Warriors then united to defeat Trumpeton.
The next day, a Sunday, the Rangers decided to hang out in the park. There, they begun playing football with their friends. Taking advantage of the heroes' distraction, Zedd sent Z-Putties to the park. The Rangers faced them, but were surprised that they had come alone, without being accompanied by any monster. They attempted to communicate with Zordon and Alpha, but received no response. Teleporting to the Command Center, they found the base completely offline, with Zordon and Alpha missing. Harold discovered a disk that recorded the recent activity of the Command Center, but before he could fully decipher the recent recorded binary code, Zedd turned a totem present in the park into the monster Nimrod, who attacked the city. The Rangers morphed and teleported to stop Nimrod but were easily overpowered. Zedd wasted no time in making his monster grow, so the Rangers summoned the Thunder Megazord. However, Nimrod summoned his minions, AC and DC. All three blasted the Megazord, severely damaging it.
Harold headed back to the Command Center to see if he could find out what happened. When he returned, he revealed to the other Rangers he had fallen into a secret chamber below the Command Center, where he saw Zordon and Alpha creating a new Power Ranger. Trent and the others initially didn't believe him, but Harold confirmed what he saw. Trent got irritated, seeing that as a disrespect to Duncan. He led the other Rangers back to the Command Center, finding the place energized once more, with Zordon and Alpha waiting for them. Trent asked if what Harold said was indeed true, to which Zordon confirmed; he then announced the Rangers were about to meet the newest member of their team, saying that since the Green Ranger powers were completely destroyed, he was convinced a new Ranger was needed. A candidate was selected and now it was time for the five to meet the White Ranger. The White Ranger descended from the sky, landing in front of them. Zordon told the White Ranger to reveal his identity and the mysterious newcomer removed his helmet, revealing himself to be no other than Duncan.
The Rangers each responded differently. Mo was the first to do something, jumping into his arms crying. The next was Trent, who also hugged his friend, asking what was that all about. Duncan then revealed Zordon had sent him on a quest to distant planet Saard, where he went through a test to be worthy of wielding the White Ranger Powers, the power of the first Ranger to ever live. Once he proved himself to Saba, the sentient saber who guarded it, he returned to Earth, where Zordon and Alpha linked the White Ranger Powers to the Mighty Warriors', creating a new Power Coin to him: the Tiger Power Coin.
Armed with his new Tigerzord, Duncan joined the other Rangers in battle against Nimrod, AC and DC, who continued to devastate the city, faced by the armed forces of PROMETHEA. Together, the Thunder Megazord and the Tigerzord's Combat Form were able to defeat the three monsters. After the fight ended, Zordon revealed to the Rangers that Bulk and Skull had found the prison of Rita Repulsa, who had fallen to Earth, and inadvertently freed her. The Rangers teleported to Skull's father's workshop, where they witnessed a weakened Rita recently released from prison. They mocked her and imprisoned her again, hearing her screams of protest. They then went to the highest peak in Duncan Valley and threw her back into space. After that, the Rangers decided to celebrate Duncan's return to the city at the Youth Center.
Omega Black Ranger and replacement[]
When Zedd turned Mohini's purse into the Purseman monster, Devon and the other Rangers fought against it, but Trent was nowhere to be found. They tried to contact him over their Wrist Communicators, but the Red Ranger wasn't responding. After he finally responded and went to aid the other Mighty Warriors in their battle, Devon and the others attempted to ask him what had happened to him earlier, but Trent just dodged the topic and went home.
When the monster Scatterbrain attacked, once again Trent took a while to meet the other Rangers. Devon and Gwen decided that was enough and teleported to his bedroom. When Trent arrived, he found Gwen and Devon there, and they demanded to know where he was. The Blue Emissary appeared in that moment to talk to Trent, and Gwen and Devon tried to attack him, thinking he was an enemy. Trent explained who the Blue Emissary was, and revealed that him had given his memories regarding the war against Lord Drakkon back, that after they had helped restore the Multiverse, several people began manifesting Morphin Grid powers, and that Trent was chosen to deal with this new threat in outer space, that being the reason why he was so distant lately. Devon and Gwen felt betrayed that Trent hadn't told them anything, but the Blue Emissary defended the boy, saying that the secret had been his request. He then decided to prove the seriousness of the situation by giving Gwen and Devon's memories back to them, making them stunned. Before they could discuss what to do, they were called by Mohini on their Wrist Communicators, saying that her and the other Rangers needed help urgently.
The three teleported to where Mo and the others were, in the middle of a battle against Scatterbrain. The monster was able to erase the Rangers' memories with his Brain Prism, demorphing them and leaving them completely confused and defenseless. It was then that Bulk and Skull (who had followed the Rangers in hopes of discovering their secret identities) jumped into action to defend their friends. They surprised Scatterbrain and stole the Brain Prism from him, destroying it and erasing their own memories about the past few minutes (and the Mighty Warriors' identities). The Rangers then regained their memories and destroyed Scatterbrain, thanking the confused Bulk and Skull.
That night, Devon and Gwen met with Trent, who apologized for not telling them anything, but the Red Ranger's friend and girlfriend said it was okay, that they understood why he had done it. However, they expressed their desires to fight alongside Trent as agents of the Blue Emissary as well. Even with the Red Ranger's protests, the Black and Yellow Rangers didn't back down, firm in their decision. The Blue Emissary then appeared and admitted them as part of his Anointed-containment team.
Now as three, while operating in space under the Blue Emissary's mentorship, Trent, Devon and Gwen continued to face Zedd's monsters as members of the Mighty Warriors, among them the incredibly powerful Gravitoner (one of Zedd's mightiest generals who was defeated by the joint actions of Trent and Duncan), the evil Octoplant (a monster that emerged from magical seeds Zedd put alongside the normal tree seeds that the Rangers were planting in the park), a new version of Pudgy Pig (who was actually an ordinary pig named Norman turned into a monster), Pachinko Head (a pachinko machine-shaped monster created to get Devon addicted to the game), the Saliguana (a monster sent by Zedd to kidnap the Rangers and their friends during a school trip to the Duncan Valley forest), and Hell Goat (a monster sent to disrupt a World Teen Summit meeting at Duncan Valley High).
When the Anointed threat began to spiral out of control, the Blue Emissary decided that Trent, Gwen and Devon needed to dedicate themselves to their mission full time. He revealed the truth to Zordon and together they devised a complex plan to make it look like Trent, Devon and Gwen had been chosen to go to Switzerland as part of the Teen Peace Conference.
The three Rangers had to lie to their parents once again. Devon's mom and siblings were radiant that Devon had "been chosen for the Peace Conference", and even Trevor appeared to congratulate him.
Having to leave both the Earth and the Mighty Warriors, the three would have to choose replacements for themselves. Devon then chose Dave, for his fighting skills and loyalty to his friends that he showed. In order to perform the power transfer, the Rangers needed the Sword of Light, a powerful sword linked to the Power Coins that was left on devastated planet Daijinma thousands of years ago by Zordon's former team of Mighty Warriors.
Once on the planet, the Rangers began searching for the sword, until they were attacked by Lord Zedd and his new Zord, the powerful Serpentera. The Rangers were able to dodge the Serpentera's attacks and find the Sword of Light, which was being wielded by a statue in the center of an ancient abandoned city. The Rangers recovered the sword and returned to Earth, where Trent, Devon and Gwen passed their powers to Justin, Dave and Wanda. The new formation of Mighty Warriors then fought against and managed to damage Serpentera, saving the day.
The Rangers and Trent, Devon and Gwen's families said goodbye to them at the airport. After several hugs and shed tears, Devon hugged his mother one last time and accompanied Trent and Gwen inside the airport, where pretended they were boarding the plane before teleporting to the Blue Emissary's ship and heading into space. It was time to take the next step in the quest to restore the Morphin Grid.
On the ship, the three former Mighty Warriors were given the primitive Omega Morphers, which would allow them to transform into powerful Omega Rangers, each with control over an element: Devon became the Omega Black Ranger with control over the element of air, while Trent became the Omega Red Ranger with control over fire and Gwen became the Omega Yellow Ranger with control over the element of earth.
As their first mission as Omega Rangers, Trent, Devon and Gwen went to the planet Khoodjah, where a powerful Anointed was located. Arriving on the planet, they witnessed the Anointed, the alien Kiya Kyatyl, being chased with torches and weapons by her compatriots, who were calling her a witch. The Omega Rangers saved her, but Kiya used her powers to escape. Gwen went to meet her, and after a few minutes they returned together. Kiya apologized for her actions, and Trent realized that she was not a threat, but an ordinary person whose life was changed by receiving powers from the Morphin Grid. The Omega Rangers asked the Blue Emissary to give Kiya a second chance, and he accepted their request by giving her an Omega Morpher as well, which she would use to transform into the Omega Blue Ranger, gaining control over the element of water. She was also granted with knowledge about the events of Shattered Grid.
Seeing that not all Anointed were a threat, the Omega Rangers decided to make it their mission to find a safe place so that those who wished to cooperate with the forces of good could stay until they resolved this entire situation. The Blue Emissary then established a base on the planet Safe Haven (a former colony of the Morphin Masters), which became a refuge for Anointed who desired a normal life. Over the next few months, the Rangers would take many Anointed to Safe Haven, among them the Birdian Arkon, who would become a great friend of theirs, and the Saardian tiger Yale.
Eventually, the Omega Rangers fought against a criminal named Garrison Vox from planet Zernox-2, who became an Anointed. They faced him and ultimately defeated him thanks to Kiya. Vox was taken to Safe Haven, where he was offered a place in their society, but violently refused, trying to attack the Blue Emissary; he was then trapped into a dumpster prison. After Vox's "trial", Kiya had a pannick attack and ran. Gwen went to talk to her, and later revealed to Trent and Devon she was afraid of becoming like Vox, and that Kiya told her that she accidentaly killed her entire family when her powers first manifested. Trent and Devon were shocked, and tried to show Kiya she could trust them without revealing Gwen had told them her secret.
When Xi's detectors located an Anointed on the planet Breel, the Omega Rangers infiltrated Queen Adriyel's gala. At the party, they discovered that Adriyel used the powers of an enslaved Anointed named Cavotus to strike fear into her enemies. They defeated Adriyel and rescued Cavotus, who asked to be imprisoned in fear of his unstable powers.
The Omega Rangers' fame eventually reached Lord Zedd at the Base. He hired bounty hunter Dayne to defeat them, but the Rangers were able to stop him with difficulty. When Dayne was then called to destroy the Mighty Warriors on Earth, the Omega Rangers went there to help them. They used the Omega Megazord to defeat a giant Dayne, and then imprisoned him in a dumpster prison. The Mighty Warriors tried to greet them and thank them for their help, but the Omega Rangers said nothing and teleported away.
The Omega Rangers then attacked the Moon, where they defeated and imprisoned Lord Zedd, destroying his Staff into several pieces - which were retrieved by Squatt before he fled with the other minions.
The Omega Rangers later went to the Command Center, expecting to be received with honors by Zordon, but what happened was the opposite: Zordon was furious, saying that Zedd's arrest, in addition to altering events that could not be changed, was an enormous danger for the Mighty Warriors; Zordon counted on Zedd's gradual defeat as a way to improve the Mighty Warriors' abilities for when they would have to deal with even more powerful threats. With Zedd now imprisoned, these threats could come to Earth at any time, and the Mighty Warriors would not be able to fight them.
Before Trent could respond by saying that the Omega Rangers would help them, Duncan (morphed as the White Ranger) entered the Command Center. Kiya, realizing that that Ranger looked a lot like the evil Lord Drakkon from her visions, tried to attack him, but Devon and Gwen held her back. Zordon ordered the Omega Rangers to leave the Command Center, and they did so, returning to Safe Haven.
In Safe Haven, Kiya disappeared for the rest of the day. The other three Omega Rangers looked for her for a while, but then gave up and talked about what they had done. They admitted that they were ashamed of their actions, and that they were unaware of the danger they had started. Devon looked at Trent and asked "What do we do now?", but the Red Ranger didn't know what to say.
Suddenly, the Rangers were attacked by Kiya and an army of Anointed, including Garrison Vox and Cavotus, as well as Dayne. She said that the incident with the White Ranger on Earth made her realize that the Power Rangers were unworthy of being the protectors of the universe, as they were flawed and subject to corruption, like Drakkon was. She revealed that she killed the Blue Emissary and freed the Anointed so they could take their rightful place as the true saviors.
Trent, Devon and Gwen were stunned by what they heard. Gwen still tried to talk to Kiya and make her see reason, but it was already too late for the Blue Ranger; she ordered her army to attack the three, an attack so massive it knocked Trent unconscious. The boy's unconscious body was then taken to Earth to be treated in the Command Center's Med Bay, where Devon and Gwen had to reveal the truth to the Mighty Warriors. After taking him to the Med Bay, the two teams engaged in an argument, as the Mighty Warriors felt betrayed for not being trusted with the truth. Trent eventually woke up in the middle of a fight between Mo and Gwen, and took responsibility for everything.
He apologized for the secrecy and said he would have revealed everything to them if the Blue Emissary had allowed it. The situation between all of them remained tense, but they had to put their animosities aside for now, as Xi revealed that, beneath the catacombs of the Safe Haven Temple, there was a Master Arch, a construction that the Masters of Morphing used in the past to travel between universes, and that activating it was likely Kiya's mission.
With Goldar attacking the city using a reconstructed Z Staff, the Mighty Warriors split up: Justin, Dave and Wanda went to Safe Haven with Xi and the Omega Rangers to help them defeat Kiya, while Duncan, Mo and Harold stayed on Earth to defeat Goldar.
On the way to Safe Haven, each Omega Ranger spoke with their Mighty Warrior replacement. Dave and Devon talked, with Dave saying that he didn't know why Devon had chosen him to be the Black Ranger. Devon said that it was an obvious choice, not just because of Dave's skills, but because of his integrity. Devon said that Dave had an enormous potential, and that all he needed was to believe in himself. Dave's insecurities were eased with this conversation, and he thanked Devon for that.
On Safe Haven, the Omega Rangers fought against Kiya aboard the Omegazords, while the Mighty Warriors infiltrated the Temple where the Arch was. When the battle seemed lost, Duncan, Mo and Harold showed up with their Zords.
Duncan and the others had also brought with them the Ranger Slayer, who was secretly living on Earth-1 in 1994. Slayer activated the Master Arch, but not to aid Kiya; instead, she brought two friends to this world: Ari and Remi, the Purple and Orange Solar Rangers from Earth-7. They used their combined Solarixes to completely cure the Morphin Grid and rid the Anointed from their powers.
Even without her powers, Kiya was still a fierceful warrior, but Gwen was able to deal with her. The Omega Rangers trapped her on a dumpster prison, and did the same with the other ex-Anointed who had attacked them. Dayne however had escaped, not before he freed Zedd from prison, who returned to the Moon Base with his pride damaged.
After the battle, and after Slayer and the Solar Rangers returned to their respective universes, the Omega Rangers and the Mighty Warriors made peace. They hugged each other, and the Mighty Warriors asked if the Omega Rangers would return to Earth now that their mission was over; the Omega Rangers said not yet, as there was still something to be done. They spent the next few weeks returning former Anointed to their home planets - except for Yale, who decided to remain in Safe Haven along with Xi.
After everyone had been sent home, Trent, Devon, and Gwen gave up their morphers to Xi, losing their Omega powers. They hugged the robot, who was moved, even though he wasn't admitting it. He returned the teenagers to Earth, and wished them goodbye, saying "May the power protect you". Afterwards, he returned to Safe Haven with his ship, and the former Omega Rangers watched it cross the skies into space with tears in their eyes.
Coming back to Earth and Uruguay[]
Trent, Devon and Gwen spent a few weeks in Duncan Valley, lying to everyone that they had been temporarily released from Peace Conference duties. They ultimately decided to actually go to the Peace Conference in Switzerland, for helping the universe with more than just fighting monsters made them like to deal with and aid the common working class people. Continuing their studies at distance, they left for the Peace Conference on late September 1994 and participated in it until its end on early January 1995. After that, instead of returning to Duncan Valley, they volunteered to aid poor communities in Uruguay, where their primary function was to build new houses for the homeless.
After two months in Uruguay, Trent began to feel dissatisfied, wanting to do more than just build houses. He discussed this matter with Devon and Gwen, who disagreed and expressed their desires to remain in Uruguay, saying that what they were doing was important. Trent was not convinced, and in the next few days he volunteered to go to the Philippines as a doctor's assistant. His friends were not happy with this decision, especially Gwen, but ultimately wished him good luck. Knowing that the distance wouldn't be good for their relationship, Trent and Gwen decided to break up. They shared one last kiss before Trent left Uruguay for the Philippines.
Over time, Devon and Gwen grew even closer, and a feeling of love blossomed between them. After they kissed for the first time, they declared themselves to each other and started dating.
Back to the Fight![]
On July 13, 1995, taking advantage of the fact that both the forces of the Machine Empire and the Zeo Rangers were not on Earth, the alien criminal Verto attacked Earth, transforming the inhabitants of St. Moineau, France into fish monsters. Mo, who lived with her mother in St. Moineau, received part of the Mighty Warrior Pink Ranger's powers back from Zordon thanks to Sword of Light, and, after realizing that she could not defeat Verto alone, she went to Uruguay, explaining the situation for Devon and Gwen. Before she could ask, the two said they accepted, and became the All-New Mighty Warrior Black and Yellow Rangers.
Once in St. Moineau, the Rangers were joined in battle by the siblings Gina and Jean Lemieux, who became the All-New Mighty Warrior Red and Blue Rangers. After Verto was defeated and the fish monsters returned into their human forms, the All-New Mighty Warrior powers were returned to the Sword of Light, and the Rangers parted ways.
Devon, Gwen and Mo went to a diner, where Devon and Gwen revealed they were dating. Mo congratulated them, and told them that she wished to break up with Duncan so that neither of them would be stuck in a long-distance relationship that would eventually fall apart, but didn't know how. Devon and Gwen then encouraged her to write down everything she felt in a letter and send it to him. She thanked them and, after a few hours, the three hugged, saying goodbye and saying they missed their time together. Zordon then teleported Devon and Gwen to Uruguay, where they resumed their routine.
College years and marriage[]
Devon and Gwen's relationship eventually ended, but they remained good friends.
They completed their studies remotely in Uruguay, and had their high school diplomas validated by the Canadian Embassy. After that, they both decided to return to Canada to attend college.
In 1997, after hearing about Zordon's death following Astronema's invade on Earth, Devon cried like he did when his father died when he was a kid. At some point, he and the other Rangers who knew Zordon met in Duncan Valley for a quick ceremony in his honor.
In 1999, Devon entered the University of Toronto, where he began taking History, with the goal of becoming a teacher. During his years in college, he specialized in African-American History, but also cultivated an interest in legends, such as the Corona Aurora.
In 2004, Justin Kealoha finally woke up from his seven-year coma at the PROMETHEA base in Ottawa. Devon went there to see him, seeing many of his friends for the first time in years. Still in 2004, Devon graduated from college. A year later, in 2005, he returned to Duncan Valley, where he got a job as History teacher at Duncan Valley High.
Also in 2005, Devon met Angie in a grocery store, and they started a conversation. They went on a date that night, and had a few dates before they resumed their old relationship. In 2007, Devon proposed to her and they got married.
Joining PROMETHEA and having a son[]
In 2008, Dave contacted Devon to ask about information related to the Corona Aurora in order to help the Overdrive Rangers during one of their missions. After this, Harold offered Devon a job as a History Consultant at PROMETHEA, which he accepted.
On July 23, 2010, Devon and Angie's son, Zack Jackson, was born.
The Apocalypse[]
In 2012, Devon, armed with high-tech PROMETHEA weaponry, fought alongside his former Ranger teammates and other PROMETHEA agents against Lucifer's demons during the Apocalypse. After Gwen's sacrifice to send the demonic hordes back to Hell, Devon helped Trent hold the fort and care for his son Jason before he recovered from his grief.
Assigned as teacher of the Megaforce Rangers[]
In 2013, after Megaforce Red Ranger Troy Adams crashed on Earth with his ship, and four teenage geniuses who were part of PROMETHEA's youth division became the other Megaforce Rangers, they were relocated to Duncan Valley, and Devon, as a PROMETHEA agent and local high school teacher, kept an eye on them, being the liaison between the kids and PROMETHEA.
In 2014, after the Megaforce Rangers lost their powers and built for themselves - through the Morphin Comet - the Ranger Keys and the Super Megaforce Morphers, they were attacked by the Zangyack soldier Osogain, as well as by Squatt and Baboo (who had survived the Z Waves in 1997 thanks to being swallowed by a Wormhole, and had received extreme powers from it). During the battle, Devon was present, and, wishing he could still have his Mighty Warrior powers, he shouted for the fallen Super Megaforce Rangers to rise up. This act was the first form of Blessing that the Super Megaforce Rangers received, and the Mighty Warriors' Ranger Keys materialized in front of them. Troy's team used them to transform into the Mighty Warriors and defeated Squatt and Baboo with these powers. After that, they set out on a quest to receive the Blessing of all the Ranger teams that came after the Mighty Warriors.
During the Zangyack Empire's Armada invasion of Earth, Devon fought to defend his students from the enemies.
Helping the Beast Morphers[]
In 2020, Trent, Devon, Harold, Wanda and Mohini were called by the Morphin Grid itself to join the Dino Force Rangers, the Dino Charge Rangers and the Beast Morphers into dealing with Evox's threat as the Mighty Warriors once again.
When Evox attacked with his personal Zord, the four Power Rangers teams summoned their own Megazords and together they destroyed Evox's. After the battle, they all went to a bar together, where they celebrated the victory until the time came when all of them returned to their homes, happy to see other people who fought for good and justice.
Future[]
In 2026, after Trent was captured by Queen Adriyel, Devon went to meet Harold at PROMETHEA, where he encountered with his son Zack, Jason Hand and Harold and Wanda's daughter Aisha. Soon, they were attacked by Queen Adriyel's forces, but out of a sudden Yale showed up from a portal and gave the Omega Morphers to Jason, Zack and Aisha, who became the new Omega Rangers. After they went to space and freed Trent from the prison he was on, they returned to Earth with him.
Proud of his son, Zack gave Zack his blessing to continue fighting as the new Omega Black Ranger. Months later, when Adriyel was defeated and the three teenagers returned to Earth, the Mighty Warriors threw a welcome party for them. When Jason, Zack and Aisha revealed that they were in love and were a throuple, Devon (although a little bit confused as he was not very familiar with the concept) was glad to see his son happy and congratulated the three teens, hugging them along with the other grown ups.
Erased timelines[]
The Peace Conference[]
In the pre-Shattered Grid timeline, Devon, Trent and Gwen actually went to the Peace Conference in Switzerland. Trent left it before it ended, but Devon and Gwen remained until the end. After that, they went to help on humanitarian causes in Uruguay, before they returned to Canada and parted ways.
The Machine Empire conquered the Earth[]
In the erased timeline in which the Machine Empire conquered the Earth after killing Lindsay, Devon joined the Human Resistance formed by the Zeo Rangers. He was killed in battle at some point before 2035.
Divatox destroyed the Power Rangers[]
In the erased timeline in which Divatox conquered the Earth after destroying the Turbo Rangers, Devon was quickly hunted down and murdered by her forces.
Personality[]
Devon is a kind and friendly man with a positive attitude who is always looking to make new friends. As a teenager, this made him a bit naive at times, but over time, the experience has matured him and transformed him into an extremely intelligent and insightful man.
Devon has always been someone who suffers under the weight of responsibility, and for a long time he did not know how to share it with anyone, before finding true friends in the other Mighty Warriors. Today, he is an extremely responsible and upright person, but he takes life in a relaxed manner and is not afraid to ask for help from those he loves.
Devon does not get angry easily, but if there is one thing that gets him angry, it is injustice. A Black man with a strong racial conscience, Devon fights to end oppression in any way, and teaches his students the horrible truths of human history with the goal of making the world a better place for generations to come.
