Despair is the sad general of the Emoneytion Army.
Biography[]
Despair is a general who, despite his crybaby attitude, is a fierce tactician armed with the Weep Tomahawk battle axe that he uses in his Weep Tomahawk Boomerang and Weep Tomahawk Crash attacks. Despair's catchphrase is "What a blow!" and his missions have focuses on making humans sad. He is the first of the Emoneytion Army's generals to be revived in modern times. About a year prior to the first episode, he donned a cloak of invincibility with collar spikes that can extend and attack, and went to Europe to steal an amber gemstone to add in his collection of jewels. In the process, Despair murdered Dan's friend Ludwig before giving the cloak to his favorite monster Muggor as a token of his esteem. Eventually, Despair is revealed as Ludwig's killer when he attempts to add Reese pendant to his collection. In the process, he loses the gemstone he took from Europe. After Emoneytion Tree's death, due to Blizardo’s Freeze-cry Tactic, Despair discards his sadness in favor of rage with his tears evaporating into steam. During the ensuing fight with the other Dino Charge Rangers as Reese is yet to arrive, Despair self-destructs in an attempt to take them with him, though the Tupanda Flop Saurus Battery allows the Dino Charge Rangers at the scene to survive the suicide attack. Later revealed to have been saved by Dollaraos at the last second, Despair has been suffering a strange personality change where his eyes turn black and becomes psychotic seemingly without reason. During that time, Despair also developed a crush on Joyra which plays into his defection from the Emoneytions after overhearing that they are to kill her. Fending Joyra and Luckuro from Francry before they with the Dino Charge Rangers, Despair learns the truth of his revival and takes a fatal blow meant for Joyra while revealing his feelings for her. Dan, conflicted with saving the one responsible Ludwig's death, tearfully puts Despair out of his misery by cracking his armor so that his soul can find peace.
Ranger Key[]
Despair's Ranger Key
The Despair Ranger Key is a Dino Charge Ranger Key released as part of a set of Emoneytion Edition Ranger Keys. It is unknown if it will appear in a future crossover. Of course as with all Ranger Keys, should it exist, it would be able to transform one, into Despair.
