Daniel "Dan" Winslow is the Purple Olympian Ranger of the Olympian Rangers. He was given the Purple Olympian Gems by Diana Thomas after she and the other Rangers retrieved them from a hidden temple in a mountain.
Retroactively, he is also referred to as the Olympian Force Purple Ranger or Purple Olympian Force Ranger - variations on his in-show label, though these are in reference to the show, as opposed to proper labels.

Backstory[]
Dan got into hunting as a hobby he could use to distract him from his dead-end job at a pizza parlor. While usually a pretty nice guy, he got corrupted easily by his buddies that he went hunting with. This lead to him being quite mean to people he ran into on the trails.
Origin- Episode 13[]
It was when he was hunting that he encountered the Rangers for the first time, though they were in their civilian forms, making him unaware of their identities. The Rangers were searching for the Purple Olympian Gems, and had run towards a gunshot they heard after seeing a family of deer. They found the buck, shot and injured in front of three hunters, Dan and his friends. When Dan revealed that he was the one who had shot the buck, Diana claimed that it wasn't hurting anyone, and didn't deserve to be shot. The other Rangers argued with her that, while it could be considered wrong by some, it was legal and that there was nothing they could do to stop the hunters. Diana eventually gave up, but got riled up again when Dan said he would follow them and shoot any other animals they found. The Rangers continued towards the mountain and found the Purple Olympian Gems. They ran into Dan and his friends again when he was being challenged as a hunter by Actaeon, a deer-human hybrid that had been once been a hunter who was cursed by Artemis long ago and had been made into a minion of Hades. Dan was injured by Actaeon and was carried away by Diana, who fled from the monster while the rest of her team was captured because of his amazing agility and traps. Dan belittled her when he came to and the two decided to go their separate ways. However, a girl (Artemis in disguise) appeared and informed Diana of the dangers of holding a grudge. Diana eventually ran to meet up with Dan and decided to give him a second chance. While talking, they figured out that Dan was compatable with the Purple Olympian Gems that Diana had been carrying. After formulating a game plan, the two rescued the other Rangers from Actaeon before morphing. Dan used his new power over grapevines to trap Actaeon in an enclosed space, allowing the others to weaken him before Dan and Diana finished him with the Thyrsus Arrow with Moon Power. When he grew, Hermes revealed the new Leopard Zord for Dan, allowing him to combine with the Gemini Megazord: Silver Mode to create the Gemini Megazord: Silver Mode with Leopard Power. Using the Leopard Zord's long tail, the Gemini Megazord: Silver Mode held Actaeon in place while the Olympian Megazord: Centaur Mode shot him with the Anvil Arrow, which finished him. Dan agreed to give up hunting because it upset Diana so much and agreed to be a reserve Ranger because of his job. Myth 13: The Hunter or the Hunted?
New Rangers and the Olympians Revealed- Episodes 14-19[]
Dan was called on again against the Sphinx, who had impenetrable wings that could shield her body. The Sphinx agreed to surrender if the Rangers could solve her 3 riddles, which they did after retreating to figure the last one out. The Sphinx did not keep her word, as the Rangers couldn't harm her. However, Mera Cadwalader and Victor Steel had planned for this and they used Dan's power over grapevines to wrap the Sphinx's wings to her sides, where they could not block the Omega Olympian Crossbow's Eight Ranger Omega Strike. When the Sphinx grew, Dan used the Leopard Zord to join with the Pantheon Megazord to create the Pantheon Megazord with Leopard Power.The Rangers, including Dan, used the Leopard Zord's tail to wrap up the Sphinx again and then destroyed her with the Light of the Olympians finisher. Personality[]
Because of his hunter friends, Dan started out as rude. However, the Rangers discovered that Dan is a pretty nice guy who is willing to get pizza and ice cream for the team when he visits. He mostly serves as a supporting player, and a follower instead of a leader, as he never takes charge. He instead usually follows other's plans to the best of his abilities.

Jay is portrayed by Logan Lerman (an inside joke for his role as Percy Jackson, another Greek Mythology-based series). His suit actor is Jun Watanabe in Olympiranger footage, who previously served as the suit actor for Master Blue in Ryusoulger, and Atsushi Okuma in US footage, who previously served as the suit actor for Dino Charge Red in Dino Charge.

Etymology[]
The first name Dan has no special connotations, but the last name Winslow comes from "Wine", referring to something Dionysus is the god of.
Trivia[]
- The name of Dan was actually a mistake, as it does not follow the naming pattern of the other Rangers (their Gods' Roman name being the first letter of the Ranger's name) and his name should have started as a "B" to follow the pattern. Dan was a placeholder and just never got changed.
- Because people had read the chapter before Spidey-Cents1 could fix it, he decided to just stick with the name Dan to not confuse anyone when Dan appeared again a few chapters after his debut.
