Chpt13 Ep2: "The Rising Son Pt1" is an episode in the series Power Rangers: Omniverse.

Plot

With no Crowley or Lucifer to rule over Hell, the demons in Hell starts to slack off as they begin to grow bored, scuffling with one another and a few even shown to be drunk with no one for them to follow. But one demon, Drexel, is still keeping guard of Hell's throne room where another demon insists to give up his position and just take the the throne for himself. As Drexel is about to consider this, a sudden rumble shakes all of Hell, thinking it could be Lucifer returning.

Drexel

What did I tell you? Hmm?

The doors of Hell's throne room comes busting open with a bang and a huge flash of white light. A bearded man with scars across his face and wearing a white suit appears before them and makes his way to Hell's throne.

???

[to the demons and speaking in a southern accent] On your feet.

Demon #1

Um… And you are?---

???

I am Asmodeus…

Drexel

[gasps] The fourth Prince of Hell.

Asmodeus

…here to rule until such time as Lucifer returns with his spawn. And there are gonna be some changes. The underperforming and ineffective, the corporate lackeys in the Crowley era are being purged. The grand old days of fire and brimstone are back! The following will step forward… Mr. Drexel. [Drexel takes a step forward.] Mr. Harrington. Mr. Sierra. [They all take a step forward.] As for the rest of y’all…

By clenching his fists, Asmodeus kills off the demons slacking off in the room as he smites them with their insides burning out and then collapsing to the floor, dead. He takes a seat on the throne and addresses the remaining demons.

Asmodeus

There’s a new sheriff in town. [flashes his yellow demonic eyes and grins sinisterly]

Meanwhile, Kurt and Hunter are traveling in the Impala and once again arguing over Damien who is asleep in the back seat.

Kurt

Look… losing Mary and Cas, that’s a lot to process, Hunter, especially on no sleep. And the kid—

Hunter

The “kid”? Come on, man, you know how this plays out. Look, when we try to bend the rules, pretend that the bad guys aren’t so bad or that things will get fixed, that’s when people that we care about get hurt. And then we end up doing what we should’ve done in the first place, which is end the problem. So this time, let’s start with the obvious. Soon as I find a way to take care of… It.

Kurt

Hunter, “the problem” might be our only shot at saving your mom and Cas out of the other world.

Hunter

They're gone, Kurt. And there’s no fixing that.

Later in Hell, Drexel returns to inform Asmodeus that there is still no sign of Lucifer or his son.

Drexel

Are either of them still alive? Maybe the Rangers treated the spawn with a "Sudden Infant Death" situation?

Asmodeus

The Antichrist is no longer an infant. New to this world, yes, but I sensed an emmense wave of energy most recently coming from him. He's full of timeless knowledge and unschooled power. He lives as I speak. (inhales deeply) With Lucifer gone, I want him found and trained to rule. With me as his humble advisor, of course.

Drexel

Right away. Because if we didn’t, he’d be upset, and I—I can assure you, from personal experience, that an upset Lucifer has a, uh, short fuse.

Asmodeusclenches his fist, making Drexel choke on his own.

Asmodeus

Are you equating your paltry acquaintance with our lord to mine?

Drexel

(Choking) Agh!

Asmodeus

Mine, which is born from eons of service and sacrifice?

Drexel unable to answer, Asmodeus stops the choke on him.

Asmodeus

I know the perils of Lucifer’s disappointment. [strokes the scars inflicted on his face]

Drexel

Lucifer did that to you?

Asmodeus

Long ago. Eager to please, I presented to him the Shedims.

Drexel

You… Oh, I’ve heard stories about—

Asmodeus

Oh, I’m sure you have. Hell’s most savage. Things so dark, and base, God himself would not allow them into the light. But I, in my pride, believed that I could train them. Use them. But Lucifer feared them, as well he should, so he forbade it, locked them up again. He was… [gestures to his scars again] “disappointed” in me.

Drexel

Mm.

Asmodeus

The pain, the, uh, the total humiliation… it forged an eternal bond between us. I am his to command...as now you are mine.

Later, Hunter, Kurt and Damien finally decide to crash at hotel to get some rest. As they enter their room, he sits by the TV and excitably begins to watch some cartoonss but is relegated to the couch by Hunter and given the Bible to read instead. Although Kurt gently offers that he himself witll take the couch instead, but Damien refuses and decides to sleep on it instead. The following day in the afternoons, Damien and Hunter are eating on the couch while Kurt finishes painting warding sigils on the motel door, and sits opposite them, observing as Damien imitates Hunter’s behavior from how he eats his burger. He then go to grab a beer on the table.

Hunter

Wait, wait, wait, wait. How old do you think you are?

Damien

3 days, 17 hours, and 42 minutes.

As Hunter drinks his beer, Damien does the Kurte.

He then brings up about what he learned from reading the bible.

Damien

This book, it doesn't mention my father, Castiel, but this Lucifer figure---

Hunter

Oh, yeah. Yeah, he’s—he’s the big bad in the Bible. Lotta screen time.

Damien

And you… knew him?

Kurt

Well, he’s not really an easy guy to know. He’s, um, he’s kind of rough around the edges.

Hunter

He’s Satan.

Damien

And that’s… that’s bad.

Hunter

Damn straight.

Kurt

See… he turned on his father, God.

Damien

God, yes, he’s in here, too. Is he famous or something?

Kurt

Yeah. Um, God basically… created everything.

Hunter

Yeah, and then he skipped out, leaving guys like us to clean up his messes that of which includes Lucifer.

Damien

Then God created angels, so he's like... my grandfather then. He’s family, and that’s… That’s good?

Hunter

Sometimes.

Hunter puts a foot on the table and as Damien mimicks him, Hunter finally snaps.

Hunter

Okay, all right, will you stop?

Kurt

So, Damien, we know Kelly taught you things before you were born. And obviously, you can, you know, open portals to other worlds. But, um… what else can you do?

Damien

I… don’t know.

Kurt

Okay. For instance, say you wanted to—to be someplace else right now. Could you?

Hunter

Can you teleport?

Damien

Teleport?

Hunter

Yes. If you wanted to be on the other side of that door right this instant, what would you do?

Damien gets up and slowly walks out of the room and closes the door behind him.

Hunter

Oh great.

Damien knocks on the door.

Kurt

You know, it’s possible he’s more human than we thought.

Hunter

Mm—hmm.

Kurt opens the door. Damien gets back into the room with a smile.

Damien

Like that.

Hunter

Come on. You’re trying to tell me you didn’t pick up anything else before you were born? You don't even remember the moment you killed Dagon?

Damien remembers scattered blurr flashbacks of infusion Castiel with power to kill the demon Dagon, and then suddenly gets quick flashes of LUCIFER trying to reach him.

Damien stumbles back a bit

Hunter

Hey.

Kurt

Damien? Take it easy. [tries to aid him up] You all right?

Damien

Yeah. Uh, good. I’m good.

Down the hallway of their motel, a mysterious man in a coat walks through the corridor to find the room of the trio.

Back in their room.

Kurt

All right, I say we, uh… (sighs) get some rest. It’s been a long day. We’re startin’ early again tomorrow.

The floorboard creaks. Someone is approaching their room door. Hunter takes out a gun. As Kurt leans against the door and then Hunter signals him to open it. Hunter goes to grab the coated man and throws him inside and shoves him against the wall. But it turns out to be...Donatello.

Hunter

Don?

Kurt

How are you alive? We thought you were dead.

Donatello

[shrugs] Well, apparently not.

Donatello sits on the couch.

Kurt

You okay?

Donatello

Ah, pretty much. No soul of course, thanks to Amara. It’s kinda like losing your appendix. You never really noticed it when you had it. (Groans) But now, when I come to a moral croassroad, I ask myself, “What would Mr. Rogers do? And as soon as I nail that, I’m usually good.

Hunter

[shakes his head] Why are you here?

Donatello

Oh! Uh, well… (clears throat) After God died and Amara took his place, I said to myself, “Donatello, you are so retired.” I mean, who needs a prophet of God when his seed has taken his place in the grand chair? So… a few days ago, I’m online, checking out condos in Boca, and I am knocked off my feet by this intense wave of power. Not exactly like God’s or Amara's. More like… something new, something fresh. I was drawn to it. It’s here. [looks at Damien] It’s…you. Who are you?

Damien

I’m… Damien.

Kurt

Damien is the An--, um, Nephilim.

Donatello

A child of a human and an angel. But, yours Damien is beyond of any ordinary angel---

Hunter signals towards him to keep his mouth hushed, to not mention anything about Lucifer being his real father.

Kurt

[to Damien] And Donatello here is a prophet.

Hunter

Which means he has a direct line to God, or Heaven.

Donatello

Yes, well, not so much anymore. But, uh… (to Damien) Look at you. The waves of power… so intense.

Hunter

Maybe less human than we thought.

Donatello

Fascinating. You know, I’ve met your father. [Hunter's eyes widen] But err--y-your power’s nothing like his. Not dark, not toxic.

Damien

That so?

Hunter

[whispers to the side] Not yet.

Kurt

Okay, if Damien is sending out a signal strong enough to get Donatello all the way out here. Other angels are still out there. I mean, who knows what else might be listening?

Hunter

He needs protection.

Later, they decide to take Damien to a tattoo shop to permanently ink him some warding symbols to keep him out of track from angels and demons. Inside, Kurt is showing the Tattoo Artist the designs of the warding from a sheet of paper.

Kurt

All right, so, uh… he's thinking something like this, right about here. [puts the warding designs on Damien’s chest] Uh, you know what? Exactly like that.

Tattoo Artist

(to Damien) And you’re cool with this?

Damien

Y—Yes.

Tattoo Artist

Okeydokey then. [prepares his materials from the sides]

Kurt

(whispers to Hunter) So you heard Donatello. No evil vibes coming from Damien.

Hunter

Proves nothing, except that you’re way too attached to this kid. You need to see this for what it is, okay? I mean, what do you need, a sign?

Kurt

Hunter, whatever his powers are or will be… if we train him properly, they could be used for good.

As soon as the Tattoo Artist starts working on Damien, Damien hisses and all of a sudden the ink machine bursts in sparks making the tattooist get tossed back against the wall. Hunter and Kurt look on in shock

Hunter

Well, there’s your sign. (to Damien) Did you do that?

Damien

I’m...not sure.

Kurt goes to aid the Tattoo Artist.

Kurt

Hey. You all right?

Damien

It hurt.

Hunter

Okay, see, sometimes, things hurt, so you just man up and deal with it.

Damien

Yes. I understand. Pain is a part of the complete human experience. Accepting it is a sign of maturity.

Hunter

All right. (To the Tattoo Artist) I think your, uh, machine might’ve fritzed out there. You might wanna get that looked at.

Tattoo Artist

Uh…Yeah, I-I guess.

He gets back to inking Damien, and a few moments later, the tattoo artist finishes inking the warding symbols on Damien.

Tattoo Artist

Okeydokey.

Damien now has various warding symbols throughout his body to cover his tracks away from demons and angels.

Kurt

Looks good, Damien.

Damien stares down at his chest. Then suddenly, all his warding tattoos instantly vanishes as they fade away from his skin. Hunter looks on in disappointment.

Hunter

Well, there’s your second sign.

Later, after they pay the tattooist, the trio makes their way into the Impala to head back to the motel. But from the distance, the demon Drexel watches them as they leave. Now having to locate Damien along with the Rangers.
