Caiman was the guardian of the Rhino Spirit until his powers and spirit were taken away from Venus for the use of the Trinity Fury Ranger whose purpose was to eliminate the rangers. However, despite regaining control over his body, Will was able to envision the three guardians as his mentors.
Originally, Caiman was also the Black Rhino Ranger. However he was never seen using his ranger form in the show making him unidentified as an actual ranger.
