Synopsis[]
With Russell now having joined the team, The Star Battleforce Rangers are assigned to assemble three special Sector Keys that together, unlock the power of the legendary starship necessary to bring down the Arkeyans. However, Arthur suffers a string of bad luck and attempting to prove himself despite that, he confronts Cereberos and a resurrected Octiqua alone.
Plot[]
At the Universal Alliance's headquarters located in the Drago Sector, Colonel Xiao, who has received most of the Supreme Commander's responsibilities following Mor-La's death, attends an emergency summit negotiating the next course of action in terms of Star Battleforce's campaign against the Arkeyans. He reports to the President of the Alliance that his rangers have successfully gathered as many Sector Keys they need to combat His Magnificence's forces; when the president hears this, he tells him of a legendary spacecraft known as the Prometheus, which was lost hundreds of years ago, and is one of very few pieces of the alliance's arsenal capable of withstanding the entire empire head-on. To awaken it, they will need the Oven, Spring, and Deck Sector Keys, all of which were lost, to recover it. Back on board the Destiny, continuing from the previous episode, Arthur is telling the others about how Russell helped him and Wild Bill out in the previous Commandant attack, Colonel Xiao tasks the Star Battleforce Rangers with finding the three Sector Keys which together will help restore the Prometheus, which may or may not help in the fight against the Arkeyans. At Xibalba, His Magnificence is watching footage of the previous failed assault on the rangers, in which Ranger Series Aqua appeared. Cereberos, who is desperate for promotion, confronts him, and accuses his master of continuing to watch from the sidelines. Z'Aezoth, angered by the assassin's remarks about their leader, corrects him, and states he only joins the front lines when absolutely necessary. Emboldened, Cereberos seeks to launch a decisive attack on Star Battleforce to prove his worth, and reveals he can resurrect the dead, and to prove his word, he resurrects his fellow assassin, Octiqua, shocking everyone. Gazla is also given a special role within this extermination mission, and is given an egg, which is said to hatch into a Wereworm.
Back on the Destiny, Ryan and Joi are continuing to monitor the Arkeyan's latest activity, while Arthur joins Wild Bill and Megan on the promenade for some drinks, along with Russell, who has now obtained a Star Battleforce uniform of his own. When Arthur asks Russell how it feels to be on the team, Russell says he has a few regrets about it, but is co-operating with them on the field, against his own contract. Lastly, he notes he'll be making some equipment in due course that will enable him to continue his strategic work on the field. Suddenly, the PA System goes off, and Arthur is called onto the bridge. Arthur says Russell can come to, since there's a lot more for him to learn, as Megan and Bill remain at the promenade. On the bridge, using the coordinates provided by the Range Sector Key, Joi finds the Deck Sector Key is on Planet Maithwaite in the Deck Sector. Colonel Xiao uses the Ranger Lottery to decide the team for this mission. Arthur is worried his luck wonāt get him chosen, but he does along with Dimitri, Ryan, Moose and Colonel Xiao - leaving Florian and Bronzee to wonder what they're supposed to do. Arthur asks if Russell can come along for the ride too, since he expressed interest in helping further despite initial reluctance, and after some talk between the others, and Joi' initial objections, Russell is allowed to join them, but since he's still working on blueprints for his Uni-Voyager, he'll have to go in another ranger's voyager. To make up for not being chosen by the lottery, Russell has Bronzee and Florian look after his lab.
The team heads arrives on Maithwaite to start looking for the Sector Key, as Moose begins to wonder if Arthur is beginning to loose his luck. Arthur says he doesn't know why he may have more luck than any of the people around him, and he assumes he was born that way, moments before he slips on a banana peel and falls into a trash can; he still refuses to have bad luck, and Ryan assumes this may be down to his showdown with Spectra last week. As Ryan and Russell wonder if Arthur's "cursed", Moose decides to uses the Range Sector Key and finds the Deck Sector Key is moving by itself, for some reason. But before they can chase after it, an army of Roswells arrive. The six rangers morph, and Russell attempts to put his newfound skills to some use as a Ranger, and finds that the scarf on his ranger bio-suit can act like a whip and lasso, although Dimitri orders him to stay in line. Suddenly, Cereberos appears alongside the newly-resurrected Octiqua, and the rangers notice something different about her. Cereberos says every time she revives, her personality changes. While she attacks the others, Arthur tries fighting Cereberos, but Cereberos is able to avoid every single one of Arthurās attacks, and reveals that he can predict his opponent's every move. Cereberos easily knocks Arthur around and takes the opening to slice at Arthur, forcing him to demorph; Cereberos says Arthur really is unlucky today. Before Cereberos can finish off the bleeding Arthur, a monster springs up from the ground, and the assasains quickly retreat. Moose, still figuring out how the Range Sector Key works, finds that Deck Sector Key is inside the the monster, which Colonel Xiao recognises as a Wereworm. He says they should retreat, but Ryan has none of it, since the Sector Key is somewhere inside the Wereworm. To this end, DImitri suggests they go after it and explore the hole in the ground left by the Wereworm, in case it may have ended up there.
Underground, Dimitri lights a fire for him and Russell. Russell, who addresses Dimitri as "Uncle D" as if he were his uncle, comes up with an idea to locate the Wereworm, but Dimitri stops him. Russell says now that he has the power to fight alongside him, he needs to do something at least that's memorable. Dimitri relates the story of his older brother who also sought power to protect the weak. But once he got it, he went drunk on power and fell to darkness. Dimitri reminds Russell to be someone that his parents can be proud of, that way, he will never become drunk on power. Russell gets it, but says his parents work somewhere else on Earth. This tender moment is interrupted when the Wereworm suddenly appears. The others arrive and Ryan uses the Hydro Sector Key to shoot water at it to bring it down to a more manageable size, only for the Wereworm to escape to the surface. It escapes back to the surface. Moose reveals he brought a few more Sector Keys, among them the Spring Sector Key, to give them bunny paws so they can hop out of the hole. Elsewhere, Arthur is running around until he finds Cereberos and Octiqua; He morphs and charges toward them. The others emerge from the hole, where they are met by Gazla. Colonel Xiao leads the remaining rangers as they morph, and while Colonel Xiao, Ryan and Moose attempt to take on Gazla, Dimitri and Russell deal the most damage together before the five of them deliver an All Star Crash to destroy the Wereworm, while Gazla escapes to monitor the assasains. The Wereworm, having consumed enough dirt in the conflict, embiggens itself. Colonel Xiao orders everyone to hop into their Uni-Voyagers. As the others do so, Russell communicates with Florian in the lab, who has had Bronzee attempt to translate zord coding in an attempt to downmorph his zord; a pompous Florian tells him it wasn't easy to make, but he came up with the zord's model after spotting a toy car on his shelf. Realizing that he now has a zord, Russell summons his voyager, Ursa Voyager 11 - consisting of the smaller U. Minor Voyager 11.1 and the larger U. Major Voyager 11.2. He struggles at the wheel, and is able to assist the others.
With Ryan and Moose taking care of airbourne bogeys, Colonel Xiao gives the signal to Dimitri and Russell that he too can form a megazord, and together they form the Drago Pride Megazord. They take on the Death Worm and Russell, as he runs through some of the benefits the megazord has in comparison to the Voyager Squad, suggests they use the Hydro Sector Key again. It works and they deliver a Super Galaxy Meteor Break to finish the Death Worm for good, as the Deck Sector Key pops out from the Death Worm. Arthur, seeing this from afar, reaches out to catch it, but Cereberos does instead. Cereberos and Octiqua shoot at Arthur and force him to demorph when he tries to retrieve it, dealing a heavy blow to his right arm in the process. Cereberos repeats that Arthur is the chosen one - for the wrong reason, which he knows because he can see all. He prepares to kill Arthur for good, but Russell quickly pops Ursa Minoe Voyager 11.1 out of the megazord to scoop Arthur up and retreat to the Destiny, as he calls that he needs medical attention immediately. Later, Megan, Wild Bill and Ryan are tending to Arthur's injuries; Arthur, whose right arm is now in a sling following his run-in with Cereberos, is enraged by his sudden loss of luck, and demands to know how he lost it. Neither Ryan or Megan know for sure what is happening to Arthur, but Bill promises him that they'll get to the bottom of it. As the assassins report to His Magnificence regarding their next move, the team (except Arthur) is on the bridge, as Wild Bill voices his anger with the way the assassins had treated Arthur, as Florian guesses that Arthur is likely "the chosen one". As they ponder on what to do next, Colonel Xiao says that their priority now is to retrieve the Deck Key at all costs. As this happens, Arthur is alone, and thinks about himself being "the chosen one" to bring balance to the galaxy. He thinks about his time as a child when the Arkeyans invaded Earth, and he was seperated from his parents, who were executed in the ensuing chaos. Arthur thinks maybe he may not be the chosen one after all.
