The Ashura Clan are a clan of demons from the Netherworld who wish to conquer Earth and turn it into a living nightmare.

Overview[]

The Ashura Clan are a clan of demons who feed off fear energy. They are heartless creatures who take great pleasure in the misery they wreak, as it makes them stronger. They are loyal to their lord, who is the most powerful demon of them all.

They reside in the Dread Castle, located in the Netherworld, and enter the human world through gaps. They can only survive there for a limited amount of time before their bodies start to crack. If they don't return, they'll crumble to dust. They can rejuvenate their bodies by soaking themselves in the toxic waters of the Netherworld. They can only enter the human world permanently when their lord is fully powered with Fear Energy.

History[]

Early History[]

200 years ago, Master Xandred fought his way through the all the other demons till he was claimed as the strongest of them all. He united them under one clan and declared war on the human world. They attacked Japan, laying siege to the countryside. They came into conflict with the Ozawa Clan who were able to fight them off with Calligraphy Power. During the final battle, Takeru Ozawa was able to seal Xandred down into the Netherworld, turning him into stone and sealing his forces within the Netherworld.

Over the next two centuries, as a result of the sealing spelling not being perfected, some Marauders were able to sneak out of the Netherworld and cross into the living world, gradually biding their time until the year 1995, when a large horde of Marauders attacked the Ozawa Mansion. Though the lord and his servants fought hard, the Marauders were able to overwhelm them and killed the current lord.

Samurai[]

In 2010, the Dread Castle rose from the earth thanks to the weakening sealing spell and Octomancer's magic. They were looking for Master Xandred's descendant to lead them. They found him, Keiji Ayakawa. Having distain for humanity, Keiji agreed to join them and declared war on the Ozawa Clan.

As time went on, Keiji started to struggle to maintain control due to his human side and failures against the Samurai Rangers. After being defeated by Mark in a decisive battle, Keiji was forced into hiding. Octomancer used the fear energy they gathered to resurrect an Ashura mystic, Akumaro to take command.

Akumaro manipulated Keiji into helping him by saying he could help him regain his position of clan lord. In reality he made help him create a major earthquake that ravaged the city, creating enough fear energy to resurrect Master Xandred.

Thanks to Akumaro's sacrifice, Xandred was brought back to life. After disowning Keiji he attacked the rangers. The sealing spell hurt him but ultimately failed. He retreated to plan his final assault on city.

Keiji joined the rangers. The main six rangers took on Xandred while Keiji led Alison into the Dread Castle to destroy Octomancer and Nocturna. The rangers and Keiji where able to destroy the three leaders, causing the Dread Castle to collapse and the Marauders to melt. With Keiji joining the Ozawa Clan, the Ashura Clan threat was ended.
