Akira Matsuovich Kinski (rus.Акира Мацуович Кински) & (Kanji: 明. 松男子. 金好) is Hollow Spider Ranger the Purple Ranger of Synchro Bug Rangers. Akira Kinski is the instigator of the central conflict in Power Rangers Synchro Bug. It can be said that the Lucifer System is his creation just like Venjix was for Dr. K.
He's Axel Kinski's descendant from 2376, and, after causing a collapse, sent his consciousness back in time in the body of his ancestor.
He was once a hacker-terrorist of the Blood Sword group, opposing the totalitarian World Government.
The World Shutdown[]
In order to destroy the World Government, he designed the Lucifer System, a powerful AI based on the source code of the "Nazi Program" from 2009 (Venjix), upgraded to crash the advanced computers of 2376. Akira had installed an emergency failsafe in Lucifer: Akira, and only Akira, can order Lucifer anything he wants and Lucifer has to obey it, especially the order to delete itself and all its scion programs; in order to avoid hacking or using antivirus or counter-viruses, the self-deletion order is tied to Akira's likeness and DNA and Lucifer needs to recognize them in order for him to self-destruct.
Lucifer was downloaded in the World Government's mainframe and shut it down, producing scion programs called the Goetia Hive which were meant to search and murder any person involved with the WG and any soldier protecting it. Lucifer soon started a Robespierre-esque terror regime which caused him and his Goetia to kill almost everyone in the world due to them being indoctrinated and made to believe in the WG and as such Lucifer believing they are enemies. 90% of the world population was exterminated in a year, and even the few people who weren't pro-WG, including the Blood Sword movement itself, were persecuted by his Goetia because he feared they'd become enemies.
However, while Lucifer is bound to Akira's orders, the Goetia are not bound to them because Akira had no part in creating them, Lucifer alone did. And since Lucifer knows about the failsafe mechanism that imposes him to obey any orders Akira gives him, he had his Goetia (who aren't bound to Akira's orders due to them not being made by Akira) murder Akira so that Lucifer would be free from said shackles. Akira's house was destroyed and his wife and three children were killed, along with most of the Blood Sword.
Only Akira and Alisa managed to send their consciousnesses back to the past, just before the Goetia would have been able to kill them.

Redemption[]
Akira's soul was kept in a Syntek body in the past, where the first thing he did was to look for his ancestor Axel (who at that time was a mere street gang criminal).
His knowledge of future technology was put to good use in his attempt to avert the World Shutdown, once he, as a Syntek, joins his ancestor Axel Kinski of the Blazers gang. Akira helps Axel take over the Blazers, renaming them Spider Moths, and turning them from a mere street gang to a parallel anti-Goetia force rivaling the Kuroboshi. Despite Axel being in control of the synchronization, since Akira is a Syntek, Akira acts as the strategist and de-facto leader of the Spider Moths due to Axel being a mere street criminal and as such inexperienced with the Goetia and future technology.
After the Belial Ultrazord is forced apart by the Bug Lord Ultrazord (and as such there's no superior consciousness to prevent Lucifer from having to obey Akira), before Nikolai kills Koharu, Akira sacrifices himself by taking off his Ranger suit so that Lucifer would recognize his face, and then gives Lucifer the order to delete itself and all its scion programs: right before self-deleting and killing every single remain of the Goetia Hive, Lucifer gets a hit on Akira, which proves to be fatal. Akira dies instantly without saying a word.
Ultimately Akira is buried in Shin Moskau's graveyard in a monumental tomb dedicated to him. The story ends with Nikolai and Axel crying on his sarcophagus and then hugging each other, claiming that they have to work together for the sake of the late Akira.

Trivia[]
- Akira is Japanese for "bringer of light", which in Latin translates as Lucifer. Akira has in common with the biblical Lucifer the fact that he's a rebel against the world rulers, but his rebellion destroyed those rulers' best creation (Lucifer made Adam sin, while Akira created the AI Lucifer who went rogue) and also did damage to themselves (Lucifer and his fellow angels were sealed in hell for eternity, Akira caused the Earth's destruction and thus the death of his own fellow terrorists).
- Akira claims to have three children all of which died as a consequence of his World Shutdown. However he might be bi like Nikolai due to the close friendship that borders on the homoerotic that they develop later in the series.
- Akira's name is pronounced uh-KEE-rah, not AH-kee-rah.
- In standard Japanese, his name would be said as "Akira Matsuoko Kinsuki", making him the only Ranger whose name is entirely derived from Japanese (except for the Russian patronymic -vich, which would be -ko in Japanese).
- Akira and Elena are written with the same Kanji: it's Akira (from Japanese) when it's a masculine name, while it's Elena (from Greek) when it's feminine. In Russia, which Shin Moskau is a fictional counterpart of, both "Akira" and "Elena" are common given names, but Russian doesn't use Kanji.
