Agumon (アグモン) is the Digimon partner of Taichi Yagami in the two seasons Bouken Sentai Digiranger & Bouken Sentai Digiranger 02.

While both are matched well in that they can act rather brashly & hot-headedly when their friends are in danger, Agumon is typically the more cautious one, even if his partner disregards his advice. The pair joke around with each other a lot & go through many trials together, but their trust in each other is evident.

Biography[]

Movie[]

Agumon first appeared as a Digitama which comes out of the Yagamis' computer in the middle of the night. When the egg hatched into Botamon the following day, the Yagami children, Taichi Yagami & Hikari Yagami, befriended him. When Hikari fed Botamon some chocolate, he transformed into Koromon.

Able to speak now, Koromon constantly asked questions & eventually became friends with Taichi & Hikari. The following night, however, Koromon transformed into Agumon & took Hikari for a ride. When Parrotmon hatched, Agumon transformed into Greymon to battle him but came close to losing. Taichi managed to blow Hikari's whistle to awaken him in time to defend against Parrotmon's attack. Greymon attacked with Mega Flame, & both Digimon were sent back to the Digital World. When the Digirangers are told of the past & why they were chosen, they are shown a stilled scene from this battle.

Koromon had a profound impact on not only the Yagami household but the world in general. Those who witnessed the battle between his transformation Greymon & Parrotmon would become candidates to be Digirangers later on. In fact, the Digirangers who would eventually save the world discover that they all witnessed this battle after returning to the scene following their first adventure in the Digital World, & they subsequently figure out that the Eighth Child, the missing Digiranger, must have also witnessed the same battle. Hikari, in particular, displays knowledge that she remembers not only Digimon but Koromon in particular when meeting him for the since they met years ago.

Digiranger[]

Agumon was recreated, along with the rest of the Digirangers' Digimon, as part of a project to help control the balance between good & evil in the Digital World. When he was a Digitama connected to the Crest of Courage, the Dark Masters attacked the facility where he was housed, & Gennai flees with the eggs in hand. He was taken to File Island, where he hatched into Botamon who eventually transformed into Koromon. During this time, he played with the other Digimon as he holds the Digivice that belongs to Taichi Yagami, waiting for his partner's arrival. One day, the Digivices suddenly vanish into the sky, heralding the coming of their partners.

Koromon discovers his partner, Taichi, after he comes to the Digital World unconscious. Introducing himself, Koromon sticks by Taichi despite his confusion & eventually meets up with Koushiro Izumi & Mochimon until a Kuwagamon attacks them. Hiding in a tree to escape, the four eventually meet up with the rest of the Digirangers, who attend the same summer camp as Taichi & Koushiro: Sora Takenouchi & Pyocomon, Yamato Ishida & Tunomon, Mimi Tachikawa & Tanemon, Jou Kido & Pukamon, & Takeru Takaishi & Tokomon. Unfortunately, Kuwagamon attacks them once more but Koromon, alongside the other Digimon, transforms to his Rookie form to protect his partner & becomes Agumon. Though strong, Kuwagamon is still stronger, & they are thrown off a cliff.

Gomamon rescues them from drowning & the group ends up at a beach. Here, the Digirangers discuss their food supply, & Agumon is the only one to eat in this time frame. Because Agumon is the only one to eat, he is the only one who has energy to battle the Shellmon who attacks, but he isn't strong enough to successfully fend him off. In order to help, Taichi decides to provide a distraction. He is caught while doing so, & the rush of anger & protectiveness that Taichi & Agumon both feel spur their Transformation into DigiOrange & Greymon, & they both defeat Shellmon together.

Agumon follows Taichi as he leads the group on their journey through File Island. After the group gets separated by Devimon, Agumon helps Taichi survive the freezing cold through judicious use of his Baby Flame to create fire.

Taichi & Agumon return to the Village of Beginnings in time to protect Takeru, Yamato's little brother, from Leomon as DigiOrange & Greymon. They subsequently defeat Devimon & are told by Gennai to head to the Server Continent. Along the way, the group finds the Tags to their Crests but are attacked by Etemon on the Continent itself. The Digirangers manage to escape into a tunnel, where Taichi finds his Crest of Courage. This brings Taichi arrogance, however, as well as the ambition to get himself & Agumon to transform into Perfect. Despite his efforts to cool Taichi down, Agumon suffers as Taichi overfeeds him in order to give him energy. When Etemon traps them in an arena against another Greymon & Taichi & Agumon transform to fight, he is beaten because his reaction times are so slow due to the food. Taichi walks deliberately into trouble, knowing that danger is what causes themselves & their partners to transform, but it has the wrong effect: Taichi & Greymon dark transform to Skull DigiOrange & SkullGreymon. SkullGreymon rampages around & takes out Garurumon, Birdramon, & Kabuterimon before regressing into an exhausted Koromon. As a result, both of them lose their confidence until Picklemon arrives & forces them to face their doubts. Agumon views a time when Taichi tried to learn how to ride a bike, & learns that he needs to bounce back after suffering from a defeat that despite all the hardship, all of the pain, he needs to come back after suffering defeat.

Agumon continues to support Taichi as they discover Etemon's main base of operations. When Taichi finally discovers what Courage truly is, he walks alongside his partner as they aim to take on Etemon fused with his Dark Network. Taichi's unflinching courage causes his Crest to shine, & he & Agumon transform to their Perfect forms, Metal DigiOrange & MetalGreymon. Metal DigiOrange & MetalGreymon defeat Etemon, but Etemon's massive energy causes a dimensional rift to open, which Taichi & MetalGreymon are sucked into.

The warp leads back to the Real World, & Agumon has de-transformed to Koromon during the transfer. Koromon follows his partner home & relaxes for a bit while taking care of his little sister Hikari Yagami, who seems to recognize him as Koromon, as she, though they do not remember, have met him before. Taichi soon realizes that not only has little time passed but also that his friends haven't returned. Digimon then begin to appear, though only he & his sister can see them. When Taichi receives a warning from Koushiro to not come back, Koromon becomes restless. Transforming to Agumon & defeating an Ogremon, a dimensional warp opens. Agumon knows he must return & eventually convinces Taichi to return as well, despite leaving his little sister behind.

Upon their re-entry, Agumon finds the group in severe disarray. Time moves much quicker, & months have passed in the Digital World though only hours have in the Real World. The entire team has gone their separate ways to pursue their own ideas for finding Taichi & Agumon. Taichi & Agumon first locate Takeru, who has been left alone by the rest of the group, & manages to convince him to reconcile with his partner, Patamon, rather than be manipulated by PicoDevimon. With Takeru & their partners, Taichi leads them to a diner, where they find Yamato & Jou & rescue them from Digitamamon. Agumon & Taichi join Jou & Gomamon in searching for the others & find Mimi, managing to convince her to leave her princess life with the Otamamon & Gekomon.

By now, Vamdemon has emerged as the next great threat, & he is in search of the eighth Digiranger. The Digirangers pursue him to the Real World through Vamdemon's special gate. Throughout this time, Taichi manages to hide Agumon from his family except Hikari, who continues to recognize him. When Tailmon is captured & Vamdemon stages an all out attack to round up all the children to force Tailmon to find her partner, he & Greymon whisk Hikari to safety, though they are unable to save his parents. Entrusting Hikari to Yamato, Taichi & Greymon attempt to rescue the trapped citizens, though they only manage to make it in time to regroup with the Digirangers in a final assault on Vamdemon.

After Vamdemon is first defeated due to Wizarmon's sacrifice, Vamdemon instead transforms to VenomVamdemon. The Digirangers believe that the key to defeating VenomVamdemon is to have Angemon & Angewomon shoot Taichi & Yamato with arrows of hope & light. Both of them agree, & they, along with Agumon & Gabumon, warp transform into War DigiOrange, WarGreymon, Metal DigiBlue, & MetalGarurumon, Ultimate Digirangers & Digimon who, with help, manage to defeat VenomVamdemon. Thinking that it is finally over, the group is shocked to see the Digital World appear in the sky. The Digirangers & their partners decide to go back to protect both worlds they love. All of them open another warp & go back to the Digital World to restore the balance.

The Dark Masters emerge as the major enemy, & it is revealed that they were the ones who warped & rebuilt the Digital World. Upon their return, Taichi & Agumon are handily defeated even as War DigiOrange & WarGreymon, & it is only through the agency of Picklemon, who tells the group that they must become strong, that they are able to escape the immediate situation. It is through his sacrifice that they are able to flee entirely. Taichi takes this to mean that they must become physically strong, & he orders the group to defeat a Shellmon, whom they previously needed to transform to beat. Koushiro discovers that Taichi & WarGreymon are both equipped with "Dramon Killers" able to work handily on Digimon with "Dramon" in their name, like the Dark Master MetalSeadramon they are up against. Taichi & Agumon both transform to War DigiOrange & WarGreymon to fight him, but they are being defeated. Through Whamon's sacrifice, War DigiOrange & WarGreymon defeat MetalSeadramon together.

In the Dark Master Pinochimon's forest, Agumon is rendered nearly useless by Pinochimon's manipulations, but Takeru manages to free them from Pinochimon's control. As MetalGreymon, he & Metal DigiOrange manage to defend the group from attacking Gerbemon up until Yamato & MetalGarurumon save them. Taichi's desire to continually move forward is at odds with Yamato's need to mourn their lost, & that along with Jyureimon's manipulations culminate in Taichi & Yamato getting into a fistfight as WarGreymon duels with MetalGarurumon. Their battle ultimately causes a rift in the friends. Yamato leaves to reevaluate his place in the group, while Mimi can't deal with the drama & the fighting & strikes off on her own, while Jou goes with her to make sure she is safe. The group are attacked by Pinochimon and his RedVagimon army, but they manage to drive him off.

While split, Hikari falls ill, & Taichi frantically searches for a cure for his sister, not knowing that it is the Dark Master Mugendramon's domain. Though weakened by battle, Taichi & Koromon are empowered by Hikari's light to transform to War DigiOrange & WarGreymon & defeat Mugendramon once & for all.

About to fight Piemon, they are met by his vanguard LadyDevimon. Agumon wishes to fight, but Taichi, with all of his personal growth, doesn't allow it. He, looking ahead, has Atlur DigiViolet, AtlurKabuterimon, Ange DigiPink, & Angewomon take care of it to allow Agumon to save his strength for Piemon. Taichi & WarGreymon manage to hold the line against Piemon until Yamato returns, & the two reconcile, with Yamato's Crest of Friendship healing WarGreymon's wounds. Unfortunately, Piemon proves to be too strong & captures him, Yamato, & their partners by turning them into keychains. Holy DigiYellow & HolyAngemon, Takeru & Patamon's Perfect forms, save them, & they manage to defeat Piemon, only for Apocalymon to appear.

Apocalymon turns out to be a formidable foe, destroying their Crests & managing to turn them into free-floating data. Agumon tells the group to not give up &, bonding with Taichi, declares that they are invincible together. Taichi discovers that the Crest of Courage lies within him, & uses that power to transform himself & Agumon to War DigiOrange & WarGreymon & return to normal. All together, the group defeats Apocalymon, with War DigiOrange & WarGreymon both launching a Gaia Force directly into his main body.

Unfortunately, the solar eclipse marks the rebirth of the Digital World; if the Digirangers stay, the Digital World might see them as foreign elements as it tries to recover & might delete them. Either way, the Digirangers must leave their partners. Taichi & Agumon reminisce at the spot where they fought Seadramon, joking & ribbing at each other.

At that point, Agumon, along with the other partner Digimon, wave goodbye to their partners as they take a trolley back home.

Anode/Cathode Tamer[]

During the December after their adventures, the Digirangers & their partners are captured by Millenniumon & held hostage. Only Agumon is spared, & it is he who brings Ryo Akiyama to the Digital World. Agumon fights alongside Ryo the entire time until he can free his partner who is the last Digiranger to be rescued, only being saved when Ryo finally defeats Millenniumon in his Lair. Taichi reunites with Agumon once before they have to leave.

Our War Game![]

A mysterious Digimon attacks on the Internet, & Agumon joins the rest of the Digimon when Gennai contacts the Digirangers about it. Because Taichi & Koushiro are the two immediately available, they are their Digimon partners, Agumon & Tentomon are sent into the Internet to battle the rapidly transforming Digimon. Infermon proves to be a formidable foe & defeats DigiOrange, Greymon, DigiViolet, & Kabuterimon when they attempt to transform into Metal DigiOrange, MetalGreymon, Atlur DigiViolet, & AtlurKabuterimon.

During this, Infermon infects the Pentagon's missile systems & launches two nuclear missiles, commanding them to strike Colorado & Taichi's house in an attempt to kill him. Koushiro, Tentomon, Takeru, & Patamon are knocked out of the battle, & Taichi, Agumon, Yamato, & Gabumon warp transform into War DigiOrange, WarGreymon, Metal DigiBlue, & MetalGarurumon, but WarGreymon & MetalGarurumon are slowed by the many emails kids from around the world send in encouragement. In frustration, Taichi throws a fit & causes the connection to crash, causing him to accidentally get kicked out of the computer. After rebooting, Taichi finds a near comatose WarGreymon, with Infermon nowhere to be seen. With more encouragement, however, they set out toward Infermon, who has now transformed into Diablomon & is multiplying to mask his original body. The emails from around the world still slow WarGreymon, & Tai, feeling for his partner's broken state, along with Yamato encourage their partner Digimon. Between their power & the strength of the world's children, WarGreymon & MetalGarurumon Jogres transform into Omegamon, &, with the aid of the very same emails which slowed his Digimon, manage to defeat Diablomon in time to stop the nuclear missile from detonating.

Tag Tamers[]

Not long afterward, Ryo is called to the Digital World to take care of the last remaining Diablomon clone, but the task is actually a ruse by Millenniumon to call Ryo back to the Digital World. Millenniummon cleaves the Digital World in two, petrifying Taichi & Agumon in the process. Once Millenniummon in his final Moon-Millenniumon is defeated, Taichi & Agumon are released.

D-1 Tamers[]

Shortly after that, Ryo is recalled to the Digital World to participate in the D-1 Tournament. Taichi is the master of Grade 1, & Agumon as WarGreymon stands alongside him as well as a Triceramon & a Cyclomon.

Before Digiranger 02[]

After these events, Gennai calls Taichi & the rest of the Digirangers to the Digital World in order to give up his Crest power to fully revitalize the Digital World with a protective barrier. As a result, Taichi loses his ability to become a Digiranger & Agumon loses the ability to become MetalGreymon & WarGreymon.

Bouken Sentai Digiranger 02[]

When the Digimon Kaiser begins his conquest of the Digital World, Agumon's fear & desperation sends a message to Taichi, who manages to find his way to the Digital World. Because the Digimon Kaiser's Dark Digivice prevents normal Transformation, the Digimon & Digirangers are helpless against this new threat. Agumon flees with Piyomon, Tentomon, Patamon, Tailmon, & Taichi until they find a cave that has an egg inside with the Crest of Courage. Taichi attempts to lift it, but it instead releases three lights which turn into D-3s that allow Daisuke Motomiya, & eventually Miyako Inoue & Iori Hida, to enter the Digital World. Saved by the newcomers, Agumon, along with the rest of the old guard, lay low.

Agumon takes part in a rescue operation to free Gotsumon from one of the Digimon Kaiser's prisons, but the operations are strictly small scale for the most part, up until their efforts to liberate a small town called Santa Geria. There, they find out that the Dark Towers are what ultimately expand the Digimon Kaiser's control, by both prohibiting normal Transformation & powering the Evil Rings in the same area. By taking out these Dark Towers, the Digirangers & their Digimon are allowed to transform normally once more, & Taichi & Agumon assumes their DigiOrange & Greymon forms to take out threats.

Unfortunately, the Digimon Kaiser, now revealed as the genius kid Ken Ichijouji, takes interest in Greymon when it is revealed that his Evil Rings cannot fully control Perfect Digimon. He captures Greymon with an Evil Ring & tries to force him to transform with his Dark D-3. This does not have the effect he's looking for, however,& Greymon instead dark transforms to SkullGreymon (which also results in Ken transforming to Skull DigiOrange) & wreaks havoc uncontrollably. He reverts to Agumon once tired, & the Digimon Kaiser escapes. Numerous experiments continue to show that the Evil Ring won't control a Perfect, as Agumon is repeatedly forced to tranform to SkullGreymon. After one experiment almost leads to SkullGreymon escaping, the Digimon Emperor begins to develop the Evil Spiral, but Wormmon, the Digimon Kaiser's partner, frees Agumon from both a desire to not see him suffer & jealousy that Ken pays him such attention. Just as Agumon reunites with his partner, the Digimon Kaiser shows up, enslaves Agumon with a newly completed Evil Spiral, & successfully dark transforms him & himself into a viral MetalGreymon & a dark version of DigiOrange called DigiDark.

Under the Digimon Kaiser's control, MetalGreymon devastates areas. The Digirangers work hard to stop him & end up confronting him in front of the Digimental of Friendship. Most of the Digirangers resolve to do what they must to save Agumon, even hurt him if it comes down to it, but Daisuke can't understand it. It takes seeing the pain the rest of the Digirangers are in, as well as his partner V-mon, to realize that friendship sometimes means hurting another to help them. Activating the Digimental of Friendship, they manage to destroy the Evil Spiral & free Agumon from the Kaiser's grasp.

The Digirangers eventually defeat the Digimon Kaiser & return him to being just Ken Ichijouji, who regrets his actions & tries to atone. Agumon is among the cleanup effort that springs up in the aftermath, until Archnemon & Mummymon complicate matters by creating artificial Digimon from Dark Towers, culminating in creating BlackWarGreymon from 100 of them. Something is different about him, however, & he disobeys the two in search of his own purpose. Agumon stumbles across BlackWarGreymon, & the two have a meaningful conversation about the meaning of life, up until a Knightmon attempts to destroy a Holy Stone & BlackWarGreymon flees. Though BlackWarGreymon does not stop, he does mull over Agumon's words.

At Christmas, Archnemon & Mummymon launch a full-scale invasion of the Real World by causing Dark Towers to appear all around the world. Through the Harmonious One Qinglongmon's Computer Kernel, Agumon, along with the rest of the Digirangers' Digimon, are given the power to reach their higher forms once more. Agumon & Taichi, along with Takeru & Patamon, go to Paris, France & meet up with the French Digiranger Catherine & her partner Floramon to deal with the Mamemon Brothers & Giromon. Taichi & Agumon both transform to DigiOrange & Greymon to deal with BigMamemon & to Metal DigiOrange & MetalGreymon to take out the Dark Tower.

The Demon Corps then make their stand in the Real World. SkullSatamon manages to neutralize most of the Digimon by freezing their data, but Agumon, along with the rest of the other Digimon, give up the power boosts that Qinglongmon gave them to allow Imperialdramon: Dragon Mode to overcome this & transform to his Fighter Mode. Agumon returns in time to help face off against BlackWarGreymon, now in a full out existential crisis due to the revelations he heard from Yukio Oikawa. Using another power boost from Qinglongmon to transform to WarGreymon & working off his conversation with BlackWarGreymon before, WarGreymon attempts to befriend BlackWarGreymon. After beating him down, BlackWarGreymon leaves to thinks.

Agumon appears again during the final stand against BelialVamdemon, representing the will to stand against his darkness.

Diablomon's Counterattack[]

When Diablomon makes his reappearance, Taichi & Agumon, along with Yamato & Gabumon, return to the internet to fight him once more as Omegamon. Though they manage to defeat him with the aid of Takeru, Angemon, Hikari, & Angewomon, Diablomon manages to escape into the Real World as a swarm of Kuramon, who reform into Armagemon. Omegamon is defeated by this new Digimon, along with Imperialdramon: Fighter Mode, but he gives his strength up to allow the dragon warrior to transform to his Paladin Mode & defeat Armagemon.

Future[]

By the year 2027, Agumon joins Taichi as a United Nations diplomat for the Digital World.

Personality[]

Agumon is much like his partner in that he can be kind & compassionate, but he is more serious than Taichi. Though he can act rashly, Agumon is more cautious & less prone to getting into sticky situations, though he follows & protects his partner all the way. He can get philosophical at times as well, as he manages to help BlackWarGreymon question his purpose. Agumon also shares Taichi's main trait of being incredibly courageous.

Attacks

  • Baby Flame: Shoots an orange & red fireball from his mouth.
  • Cross Fight: Slashes with claws.
  • Surudoi Tsume (するどいツメ lit. "Sharp Claw"): Attacks with claws.

Other Forms[]

Botamon's Digitama[]

Botamon's Digitama was held by the Agents alongside Taichi's Digivice & Tag, the Crest of Courage, & the other Digitama, Digivices, Tags, & Crests. When Piemon attacked their base & stole the Tags & Crests, Gennai took the Digitamas & Digivices & escaped in a Mechanorimon. He deposited the Digitamas on File Island, where it eventually hatched into Botamon.

Botamon[]

Botamon (ボタモン) is Agumon's Baby I form.

In the movie, he first hatched from the Digitama which appeared from the Yagamis' computer. After chasing him around the house, Hikari draws him out with her whistle & plays with the bubbles he releases. After feeding him, he became Koromon.

After his Digitama was rescued from the Dark Masters before the start of Bouken Sentai Digiranger, Agumon hatched into Botamon on File Island. He eventually transformed to Koromon while waiting for his partner to come.

Attacks

  • San no Awa (酸の泡 lit. "Acid Bubbles"): Fires harmless pink bubbles from his mouth.

Koromon[]

Koromon (コロモン) is Agumon's Baby II form.

In the movie, Koromon has a playful personality, with all of the naivety & curiosity of a newborn in addition to a newborn's self-centric nature. To thank others, he gives them a kiss on the mouth & wraps his ears around the human's face.

While waiting for his partner, Botamon transformed to this form on File Island. With the rest of the Digirangers' Digimon, he played with the Digivices until they disappeared one day, heralding the arrival of their partners. Koromon finally meets his partner Taichi while he is unconscious from his first arrival & tries to protect him when Kuwagamon attacks them. He digivolves to his main form Agumon when Kuwagamon corners him on the face of a cliff.

Attacks

  • Bubble Blow (泡 Awa, lit. "Bubbles"): Fires harmless pink bubbles from his mouth.
  • San no Awa (酸の泡 lit. "Acid Bubbles"): Fires harmless pink bubbles from his mouth.

Greymon[]

Greymon (グレイモン Gureimon) is Agumon's Champion form, which also allows Taichi to transform into DigiOrange.

In the movie, after transforming to Greymon, he then battled Parrotmon but came close to losing. Taichi managed to blow Hikari's whistle to awaken him time to defend against Parrotmon's attack. Greymon attacked with Mega Flame, & both Digimon were sent back to the Digital World. When the Digirangers are told of the past & why they were chosen, they are shown a stilled scene from this battle.

Agumon first transforms to Greymon to protect Tai from a wild Shellmon. Greymon then becomes, for the most part, Agumon's default battle form as it provides a significant amount of strength without delving too deeply into his energy reserves. He uses it to take on Devimon & all threats up until Etemon, where he & Taichi transform to MetalGreymon & Metal DigiOrange. Greymon still comes into use when they can't afford to spend too much energy, like while infiltrating Vamdemon's castle to reach the gate or when fleeing his forces while in Odaiba.

Taichi tries to use Greymon against Infermon but he proves to be too weak, & they are both interrupted in transforming to Metal DigiOrange & MetalGreymon.

Agumon & Taichi once again assume their Greymon & DigiOrange forms in the sequel in order to protect areas liberated from the Digimon Kaiser's control. Unfortunately, when the Digimon Kaiser discovers that his Evil Rings, devices he uses to control his Digimon slaves, don't work on Perfect Digimon, he takes an interest in Greymon. Entrapping him with an Evil Ring, he attempts to use his Dark D-3 to transform him into Perfect but only succeeds in creating SkullGreymon (& Skull DigiOrange on himself) once more. Numerous experiments on Greymon make the same result, only for the Digimon Kaiser to create the improved Evil Spiral.

Attacks

  • Mega Flame: Fires a giant blast of fire from his mouth to incinerate his enemies.

SkullGreymon[]

SkullGreymon (スカルグレイモン SukaruGureimon) is an alternate Perfect form of Greymon.

SkullGreymon is the result of Taichi's reckless actions in trying to make Agumon & himself transform to Perfect. By overfeeding him & then deliberately putting himself into danger, he gets himself & Greymon to transform, but through Dark Transformation, Greymon turns into SkullGreymon, which in turn turns Taichi into Skull DigiOrange. He annihilates the Greymon attacking them but doesn't differentiate between friend & foe. He only stops when he runs out of energy & reverts to Koromon. This action breaks the confidence of both Taichi & Agumon, which only recovers through Picklemon's special training. At the end of the series, Gennai reveals that Skull DigiOrange or SkullGreymon aren't wrong transformations for Taichi & Agumon, just that neither a Digiranger or Digimon suited for their purposes, in order to quell the conversation about Virus Digimon.

Unfortunately, SkullGreymon makes another appearance in the sequel. When the Digimon Kaiser takes control of Greymon with an Evil Ring, he tries to force him to transform into MetalGreymon. The result is the Dark Tranformation into the rampaging SkullGreymon, which also results in the Digimon Kaiser transforming into Skull DigiOrange. Further experiments with the same result leads to the Digimon Kaiser creating the improved Evil Spiral.

Attacks

  • Ground Zero: Launches an organic missile from his spinal cord.
  • Ground Zero Kai (グラウンドゼロ改 lit. "Ground Zero Revision")

MetalGreymon[]

MetalGreymon (メタルグレイモン MetaruGureimon) is Agumon's true Perfect form, which is also the result of Metal DigiOrange. His left arm is called the "Trident Arm".

Greymon first transforms to MetalGreymon to battle Etemon, when Taichi learns the true nature of Courage in being stalwart & moving forward even when scared. MetalGreymon, along with Metal DigiOrange, manages to take out Etemon, even when the two are powered by his Dark Network. MetalGreymon then becomes the form that Agumon takes whenever he & Taichi face a Perfect Digimon to match power for power, such as against TonosamaGekomon & DeathMeramon, up until he & Taichi attain their Ultimate forms, WarGreymon & War DigiOrange.

Greymon attempts to transform to this form against Infermon but is interrupted mid-Transformation.

Some time after Apocalymon's defeat, Gennai calls the Digirangers to the Digital World in order to give up their Crest power to fully revitalize the Digital World with a protective barrier. As a result, Agumon loses the ability to become MetalGreymon.

When the Digimon Kaiser comes to power, however, he eventually tests his new Evil Spiral on Greymon & dark transforms him into a viral MetalGreymon, which results in the Digimon Kaiser transforming into a dark version of Metal DigiOrange called DigiDark. MetalGreymon & DigiDark wreak havoc across the Digital World until they are confronted by the Digirangers. Resolves to help in him in any way possible, the Digirangers attack him, though Daisuke Motomiya holds back because he's afraid of hurting him. It takes the others to get Daisuke to realize that sometimes he has to hurt a friend to help him, & so he obtains the Digimental of Friendship & gets himself & his partner V-mon to transform to Ligh DigiBlue & Lighdramon & take out the Evil Spiral. Afterward, MetalGreymon degenerates back to Agumon.

When Archnemon & Mummymon begin their invasion of the Real World, Agumon & Taichi both gain the ability to transform to MetalGreymon & Metal DigiOrange once more with the power of the Harmonious One Qinglongmon's Computer Kernel. MetalGreymon & Metal DigiOrange both help HolyAngemon & Holy DigiYellow deal with the Mamemon Brothers & the Dark Tower in Paris, France. MetalGreymon & Metal DigiOrange both appear one more time against SkullSatamon of the Demon Corps, but they both give up their powers to allow Imperialdramon: Dragon Mode to transform to his Fighter Mode, but they can still transform into MetalGreymon & Metal DigiOrange.

Attacks

  • Giga Destroyer: Fires two fish-shaped missiles from his chest.
  • Trident Arm: Shoots his "Trident Arm" to slash, stab, or wrap up enemies.

WarGreymon[]

WarGreymon (ウォーグレイモン U~ōgureimon) is Agumon's Ultimate form, which is also the result of War DigiOrange. He is equipped with the "Dramon Killer" gauntlets & the "Brave Shield" on his back.

WarGreymon is the result of a prophecy leading to VenomVamdemon's defeat. When Taichi & Yamato are pierced with arrows of hope & light, they, along with Agumon & Gabumon attain their Ultimate forms. Together with the rest of the Digirangers & their Digimon, they manage to defeat VenomVamdemon.

WarGreymon, along with War DigiOrange, are instrumental in defeating the Dark Master MetalSeadramon, as they are both equipped with the "Dramon Killer" gauntlets which do extra damage against Digimon with "Dramon" in their name. Unfortunately, it takes Whamon's sacrifice before WarGreymon & War DigiOrange can do so, by ripping MetalSeadramon apart from within. WarGreymon clashes with MetalGarurumon when Yamato questions his place on the team but defeats the Dark Master Mugendramon when powered by Hikari Yagami's light. WarGreymon & War DigiOrange both manage to hold the line against Piemon until Yamato arrives, but he is turned into a keychain early in the full fight & requires Holy DigiYellow & HolyAngemon to fully recover in time to defeat the jester. In the final charge against Apocalymon, WarGreymon & War DigiOrange, with Metal DigiBlue & MetalGarurumon, attacks Apocalymon's main body.

Agumon & Taichi transform to WarGreymon & War DigiOrange to fight Diablomon, but they are beaten when the emails from around the world slow WarGreymon down. Despite this, WarGreymon attempts to fight once more, & combined with the power from the hopes of everyone, Jogres transforms with MetalGarurumon to Omegamon. These events are referenced when Ryo Akiyama is called upon to take care of a rogue Diablomon copy, & during the D-1 Tournament, Taichi (as War DigiOrange) fights with WarGreymon.

In May, Gennai calls the Digirangers to the Digital World in order to give up their Crest power to fully revitalize the Digital World with a protective barrier. As a result, Agumon loses the ability to become WarGreymon.

When BlackWarGreymon emerges in the Real World to find/kill Yukio Oikawa, Agumon is sent to stop him. With a new upgrade from the Harmonious One Qinglongmon, they are able to warp transform to WarGreymon & War DigiOrange. They confront BlackWarGreymon atop Mount Fuji, & they battle as Oikawa & company make their escape. The battle is fierce, destructive, & completely stalemated. Neither can get the upper hand until Imperialdramon: Fighter Mode intervenes. They later shows up to witness the last moments of BlackWarGreymon, whose death & noble sacrifice hit them hard.
