...Comes Out in the Light is the forty-second episode of Power Rangers Universe. This episode concludes a two-part arc revolving around Florian's defection from the Arkeyan Empire, and features the debut of the Void Sector Key.
Synopsis[]
Having been easily defeated by a further-corrupted Metal Florian, the rangers are running out of options as to how they can save him. Determined to rescue Florian at all costs, Bronzee takes matters into her own hands, and she and Arthur race against time to save their comrade before it's too late, but Pom-Pom stands in their way.
Plot[]
Picking up immediately where the previous episode left off, Bronzee emerges from the metal spice-corroded rubble of the Megazord, and is barely able to stand, but is shocked to see 263, who was also to protect himself as well. He reiterates the Phoenix Sector Key's ability to heal, before asking her about the others. Bronzee does not know where her comrades are, but 263 fears they may be in need of serious medical attention. On board the Destiny, the remaining rangers are fearing the worst for the others, as Russell struggles to get a signal on Arthur or any of the other team members. Suddenly, Metal Florian and Pom-Pom ambush the bridge, as the former reveals to them that he killed Arthur, 263, Bronzee and the others, and their weakness made their power for him to dine on. Enraged, Wild Bill, Colonel Xiao, Russell, and Joi attempt to fight back, but are quicky outmatched. Colonel Xiao, Joi and Bill are captured by Florian, while a visibly shaken Russell barely manages to escape capture. Just as Russell begins to lose hope, he gets a signal from Bronzee and 263, who fill him in on their ordeal with Florian. When Russell learns about the fate of the other rangers - Arthur, Megan, Ryan and Dimitri, he has a medical team sent down to Tiamut.
Later, Arthur, Megan, Ryan and Dimitri - all unconscious from the previous confrontation with Florian, are in the infirmary, as 263 monitors their condition. Throughout the day, 263, Russell, and Bronzee cannot reach a consensus as to how to save Florian, but also rescue the rangers Metal Florian captured. 263 does not rule out having to kill Florian as a last resort, but Bronzee, given her loyalty to Florian, refuses to allow that to happen. Elsewhere, Florian takes Bill, Xiao, and Joi to an abandoned Star Battleforce outpost on an unknown planet, and as the trio resists, Florian makes it clear that he desires to kill Bronzee with his bare hands. As a means to make his wrath known, Metal Florian goes on a planet-to-planet killing spree, which goes shockingly unnoticed by Star Battleforce. As the day ploughs on, Russell is struggling to get a lead on Florian, until he gets a hold of the location where the captured rangers are. In order to liberate Florian, he unearths a Sector Key that may do the trick, the Micro Sector Key, which may allow the user to go into one's brain, if lucky. 263 thinks that it may work, so insists they should head down there to see if it works.
Russell and 263 head to the infirmary to check on the others' condition and inform them about their plan, but much to their surprise, Arthur, Ryan, Megan and Dimitri, despite being in no condition to fight, express determination to save Florian, especially Arthur. Russell is hesitant to allow them to help due to the fact they have not fully recovered yet, but Ryan warns them both they could be going in short-handed if going against Florian like this. Meeting much demand, 263 has an answer to it. Having used his Sector Key to heal the others, they head down to Florian's coordinates, while Dimitri remains with Russell on board the Destiny. As this happens, Star Battleforce forces led by General Sawyer surround Florian, who is reminded of his affiliation with Star Battleforce, but are outmatched by him, just as the rangers arrive. Arthur, Bronzee, Megan, 263 and Ryan morph, and they battle newly arrived Roswells while Bronzee takes on Florian. Metal Florian is just too powerful as he completely whacks Bronzee around. Florian attempts to deliver an attack using the Void Sector Key at Bronzee, but Arthur hurries over to block it.
Suddenly, a huge explosion and Arthur and Bronzee seem to have disappeared, with 263, Megan and Ryan fearing the worst as Naga celebrates killing Balance with his own hands, and leaves. All of a sudden, Arthurās voice comes through on the communication, and much to the othersā relief, he and Bronzee survived, and are inside Florianās brain. Russell had previously analyzed the people who Pom-Pom had infected with Metal Spice and found little micro-sized Roswells invaded their brains, and the same must be happening to Florian, so Bronzee took Russellās word, using the Micro Sector Key to shrink her and Arthur to get them inside of Florian. Arthur and Bronzee search through Florianās body for the good Florianās sleeping soul. Bronzee says if they can wake him up, then he could be back to normal. However, they run into the microscopic Roswells. Arthur says heāll take care of them while Balance looks for the real Florian. 263, Megan and Ryan turn their attention to rescuing their captured allies and head to the warehouse and are met by Pom-Pom, who, as expected, prevents them from getting through to their comrades, as she too intends to corrupt them with Metal Spice. Inside Florianās brain, Bronzee finds the real Florian, but canāt get close because of the Metal Spice Monster who rules over his mind and body. The monster summons a microscopic Metal Florian who morphs and takes on Bronzee who also morphs.
Regular-sized Metal Florian keeps watch over Colonel Xiao, Joi and Bill, but he starts to have a headache from all the activity in his brain. Florian is annoyed with Bronzee's carefree attitude, but Bronzee reminds him that he too was also carefree, only to be attacked so he decides to go finish off the sleeping real good self. Bronzee gets in front of the Void Sector Key attack and absorbs it instead, forcing her to demorph. Regular-sized Metal Florian stumbles outside where Pom-Pom has forced Megan , Ryan and 263 to all demorph. Inside Florian's head, Metal Florian asks Bronzee why he would throw his life away for āthat guy,ā referring to his good self. Bronzee says for the first time in her existence, she found in Florian as the one partner he could trust with everything. Just then, 263, Megan and Ryan make a last-ditch effort to get Florian to remember who he is, Xiao, Bill and Joi, hearing the others call out to Florian, break free from captivity just in time to join the others in calling for their comrade, as do Russell and Florian, who are witnessing the proceedings back on the bridge. Bronzee asks Florian to remember all the times they spent together and the successful lives they built for themselves. The memories start to swirl around Florian's brain. the microscopic Metal Florian refuses to let this overcome Florian and he charges toward Bronzee and the real Florian, as Bronzee accepts her fate.
Suddenly, the real Florianhas awakened and is able to block his evil self's Arkeyan Wrath Blade with his own. He slams his evil self for twisting his mind, and allowing the metal spice-addicted persona take over his free will, claiming that he doesn't just have a partner to count on (refering to Bronzee), but also a family (the other rangers). He deals the final blow to his evil self, and all the metal spice in his mind begins to dissapate. As the duo reconvenes with Arthur, the area within his head begins to tremble, and they are blinded by a flash. The regular-sized metal Florian begins to scream in agony, as all the metal spice in his body begins to disperse, as Arthur and Bronzee are released from inside of him as well. Florian is back to normal, and falls to the ground in exhaustion, as the rangers, happy to welcome him back. are thanked by Florian for saving his life and sticking by him. However, he begins to realise that the purification has not undone his transformation into a metal beast, and is permanently trapped in his corrupted body.
The Metal Spice Monster also embiggens out of Florian's body. Devastated at the sight of losing her "beloved husband", Pom-Pom vows revenge. The rangers, including Florian, who gets his old Uni-Controller and Sector Key back, morph, with Arthur morphing into Ranger Series Orion. Arthur takes on Pom-Pom himself and completely overpowers her. The others work together to take on a horde of Moonbillies while the newly reunited Florian and Bronzee fight the Metal Spice Monster, and eventually defeat it. Florian then teams up with Arthur, and they both use their respective finishers to finish Pom-Pom off. She survives, ans says it was nothing personal, and was just having fun. She leaves, but the Metal Spice Monster not only embiggens himself, but transforms into a depiction of Florian's evil self. In response, the team forms the Star Battleforce Ultrazord; amid the chaos, Bronzee and Florian launch a Serbian Spark attack at the Metal Spice Monster, before the megazord finishes the monster off with an Ultimate Thruster Blast. Although the rangers are victorious not only to have a friend back, Florian suddenly succumbs to exhaustion and de-morphs; Ryan speculates that the Metal Spice may have limited Florian's morph.
Moments later, Russell enters his lab on the Destiny, and alarmed to find a mutated-but-purified Florian waiting there. Russell is relieved when he finds out that Russell broke free from his brainwashing, but it was thanks to Bronzee for going inside of his head. Having been given the consequences of Florian's mutation, Russell scans Florian, and he confirms that he does not have anything he can use to undo Florian's transformation and restore his humanity, meaning that he is indeed permanently trapped in his metal beast body - the brainwashing by Pom-Pom rendered his physical deformation permanent. He also deduces that while like this, Florian's mutated body cannot sustain a purified morph for extensive amounts of time, and excessive morphs could potentially do further damage to his body. Russell advises Florian that, whilst he is back at Star Battleforce, he remains sidelined for now until a way to reverse his mutation can be found; Florian reluctantly agrees. Afterwards, Florian reunites with his allies on the bridge, as Bronzee turns around and starts to walk out. The others stop him and Arthur says he should be happier especially since he worked the hardest to save Florian - he and Bronzee both. With that, the team (minus Russell) happily celebrates Florian's return.
Elsewhere, on O'Thala, a S.B.F. damage control team is working to lift out wreckage from the U.S.S. Orion, and are lifting its remains onto land. General Sawyer is overseeing this procedure, and discovers some long-forgotten blueprints of a potential evolution of the vessel, one which could prove a worthy investment in Star Battleforce's efforts against His Magnificence, and decides to relay this information to the Destiny.
